Current AFL listed players you wouldn't recognise if you passed on the street.

Its funny you mention Sam Butler because I reckon I know the eagles list decently well - certainly their main players who are in their best 25 or so. There is something about Butler though that I find it impossible to recall what he looks like.

He just looks like a guy that you'd be mates with. Could be an accountant or a sales rep or anything really.

I watch a load of Freo games but I reckon I'd struggle to pick Lee Spurr out of a line up.

Also guys who have been in the league a while like David Mackay from the Crows and Levi Greenwood from Collingwood.

I'm rubbish with faces, I already have trouble recognizing players by their faces while watching a game. I doubt I'd recognize most players on the street.

I only just
St Kildas captain.
Up until now

Sam butler and nick smith have been mentioned - agree wholeheartedly.

I never saw beau waters his whole career, he might still be going will Minson style.

I've never seen Suban from freo, Zach Merrett from Essendon or anyone named crouch. I'm never quite sure which Collingwood player is Reid and which is brown. I've also struggled to work out who Mitch brown is and who he plays for.

Ryan Lester, Marco Paparone, Ryan Harwood, David Mackay, Rory Atkins, Tim Broomhead, Lee Spurr, Connor Blakely, Cam Sutcliffe, Sam Menegola, Darcy Lang, Jack Leslie, Sean Lemmens, Alex Sefton, Jarryd Lyons, Aidan Corr, Harrison Himmelberg, Tim O'Brien, Daniel Howe, Alex Neal-Bullen, Ed Vickers-Willis, Kayne Turner, Taylor Garnor, Ryan Clarke, Darcy Bryne-Jones, Jack Hombsch, Aaron Young, Sam Gray, Jimmy Webster, Jack Newnes, Seb Ross, Jack Sinclair, Blake Acres (until tonight), Jake Lloyd, Tom Papley, Harry Cunningham, Dean Towers, Harry Marsh, Tom Barrass, Dom Sheed

All names which I wouldn't recognise if they passed me in the street. At the risk of showing some ignorance.

Half of the Bulldogs 22. Half of the saints 22. Half of North's 22. Half of the Blues 22.

Got a lot of nothing players.

107 out of 396 is 27% who's faces I don't remember. I reckon I could list 99% of current AFL-listed players (not just starting 22s), most starting 22 numbers, approximate ages, experience levels, positions, DT and SC standard, etc. I must be just really bad at faces.

Have struggled with plenty at North and Brisbane for a while now.

Pretty good with numbers, could tell you how they play but just couldn't put it to a face.

Most of them to be fair, but criteria should be more for the 100+ gamers & more prominent players.

Biggest one for me that I just can't even start to describe him would be Josh Kelly from GWS.

More than 800 listed AFL players. I'm sure many of us have them cross our paths every day or so.
I know once was talking to a few guys during a night out on the turps at the casino and they were telling me they were footballers but thought they were speaking s**t as did not recognise them. I watched their team play during next season and realised, oh yeah, you are in the AFL.. ha ha
