If we aren't working on resigning libba now we will lose him
No we wouldn't. We could wait until the end of the year and we'd still keep him.
Thankfully, we'll no doubt be working on re-signing him.

Not that I've heard. When?

The club he barracked for all his life, dad is a club legend, got drafted with his life long best mate. No chance he'll leave. Especially this early in his career.

End of last year there was talk on this forum he wasnt happy cause he thought the club came down too hard on him

Meant to hit reply, not like.

Considering the way Libba conducted himself getting caught in a position with recreational drugs, he's lucky that all he got was a club ban/fine and dressing down.

Imagine had he of overdosed or ended up dead as a result of his drug binge. He's a kid who made a mistake and now he's learning "hopefully" to be mature about it.

Its normal for kids to carry on after getting a public spanking.

Just thought I'd add some thought to the whole recreational drugs thing

I'm 22 years of age and use ecstacy around once every two-three months and it really isn't that big of a deal, some would say it can be safer than alcohol. Majority of young people use it these days, there are just bad stories that come out of it for some people (like every drug/Alcohol).

I couldn't imagine not letting loose from time to time at this age, really feel for the players that want the normal part of a teenagers life too.

While i get what your saying, you also need to understand drugs are drugs, alcohol is alcohol, mud is mud. And they are not a normal part of anyone's life. Let alone a teenager. They are a choice, most make it, but still a choice, and that choice is yours to make. Like saying Alcohol is a normal part of a teenagers life...nope, as a teen young adult it was certainly there in my youth, it was also the reason my promising career ended at the age of 22, while 2 of my mates went on to earn more money in one year kicking around a piece of synthetic leather then i will in ten years.Just because everyone does it, doesn't make it normal.

Sorry for derailing thread, and i am not brow beating you, of all people, i can't talk. But just thought i'd comment on it.

Just thought I'd chuck in two cents on the Libba debate...

I just turned 19, and drugs have zero part of my life. Smoked marijuana once at 16, will never go back. Barely drink as it is, will probably just give it up all together.

Now, I made these choices because I've seen many people in my career path (Music) throw it all away due to addiction. Furthermore, it just destroys lives.

Now, I don't begrudge my friends that do take drugs - That's their choice. However, if Libba thought the club came down too hard on him, he needs to take a good, long look at himself and ask if maybe there was a good reason that they did. I don't think any of us want him to throw it all away.

I'm sure Williams signed a contract with a bunch of young players a year or two ago. Not sure how long it was for though. My guess is he has 1 year left.

Can't remember Higgins.

Emma Quayle one the best journos in the business interviewed Libba on April 27 2013

Liberatore did, but he was also conscious of what was being done for him. Tom Williams was in rehab at the time, and some mornings would get up to the club early so that Liberatore had company. Other teammates had him around for dinner. Every Friday morning, he had breakfast with development coach Chris Maple and Brett Goodes, then the club's player wellbeing manager, before heading off to university. “They were probably the two biggest influences on me,” he said, “just with how much they cared.” This year he has sensed all of his teammates start to think of each other more – to fully absorb feedback, to feel losses more deeply and to try, when games are turning against them, to remember what they need to do, then do it. “We talk about it a lot, about being outspoken, being totally honest with each other, improving morale and improving the mateship around the club,” he said. “We speak about it and train it, and now we've got to do it more on match days. And that's definitely something I felt last year, just how warm people were. I let them down but they were still wanting to know how I was, and caring, and wanting to help me through it."

I think Libba is focusing on football not contracts at the moment I'm not saying there isn't on going discussions but for the moment Footy is no1 and contracts etc. are pretty low on his list..
If/when he and club are ready to-do contracts it would probably get done pretty quickly because the club love him and he loves the club. Just my 2cents...

I really like how close the football club is becoming, the majority of our young players seem (obviously I can't know for sure) like they all love playing for the club. I can't see Dahlhaus/Smith/Wallis/Libba leaving anytime soon. And if you see Twitter and Instagram all the young guys are in constant conversations with each other, having a joke and what not. Really hope they love playing for the dogs :)

Greenwood, Austin, redpath delist. Give Jong another 12 months

Just updated the OP

no way libba would ever leave the club
though money talks i think he is one of those loyal till the end and keep the family name going at bulldogs.

Grant and Vezpremi would be very nervous being OOC at the end of the year and would almost certainly be delisted.

I think the tough decision needs to be made on Crossy to being out of contract also at seasons end. We have alot of young players in a similar role and he deserves a good sending off along with Gia.

Howard is tough one but maybe given 1 more year to develope consider there will already be 2 delistings and 2 retirements. Could not blame the club if they did pull the plug on him though.
