Update the OP, Matchu! Martin through to 2017.
Just did. Contrary to what they are saying it's actually a three year extension on his already two year contract that begins next season. Great news though. Obviously everyone has a lot of faith in him. He now becomes the only player on the Suns list with a contract running longer than 3 years.

Definitely changed my views on delistings after 5 rounds.

My list now...

Jeremy Taylor
Jacob Gillbee
Liam Patrick
Campbell Brown

The other 2 are hard to pick... between Horsley, Sexton, Allen.

Gillbee has been suspended though so may start showing this when hes had a few NEAFL games.

Not easy at all is it. I can't even bring myself to have a crack at it yet.

I'd keep Horsley and cut the rest.

Really tough. I have a feeling Horsley will find himself in the same situation as Iles last year. Iles got stuck in the 2s and ended up getting delisted because of it. The midfield has never been harder to break into than it is now and Horse doesn't have youth on his side unfortunately. I think the only way he could break back into the seniors is if he can show some form in the pockets or flanks. Prestia has managed to keep a spot in the seniors because of this so I think it is Kyal's best chance.

At the end of the day Horsley will be a 26 year old midfielder that can't break into the seniors. Perhaps he'll be put on the rookie list again but being older doesn't really increase his chances in my opinion. Also, I know Jackson Allen is a Queenslander and I know he signed an extension but after his performance against the Lions it is really hard to believe he isn't in the firing line. I guess if you look through the team at the players that are struggling to break the seniors you have Jeremy Taylor, Jacob Gilbee, Alex Sexton, Henry Schade and Tom Nichols. It sucks that they have to delist 6 players but that's the life of a list manager.

Some of the players who will get delisted are just too good for delisting. We should use them to upgrade our picks.

If Allen had another yard of pace his name wouldnt be here but he just lacks that extra weapon to go with his kicking. His defensive stuff could be worked on.

Good call by "TheJaegerBomb" about how tough it is those 6 players that will be delisted at the end of the year.

Besides the apparent retirement of Brown, I am hopeful some of the other guys will get picked up by another club.

As I have previously stated only the club knows what they think is the right balance within the constraints of the list size. Age spread, type of position a player is suited and salary cap are just some of the issues that have to be considered.

It is inevitable that people will disagree but is a decision that has to be made.

Just on Brown, the man has said himself that he wants to play on. So if he 'retires' it will be because he was 'retired' if ya catching what I'm throwing.

Thats true actually he said that in a pre-game interview. Will be interesting to see how it pans out...

It is obvious that the GCS will want Prestia to sign a new contract.

My guess is that it won't be $$ that make or break the deal, but if he really wants to go home to Victoria to be closer to his family.
