They checked both eyes and he had an anomaly in the “good” eye.

It was in the Jock N Journo podcast. Pendles didn't seem completely sure what he had done but seemed to think he had some sort of laser (correction?) treatment on his "good" eye also.

Let's hope something good can come of this Mason Cox surgery. Shame that it couldn't have been done over the off-season though. Didn't think much of it at the time but can remember hearing ages ago about his eyesight issues which the medical staff were aware of. Potentially became aggravated by the eye poke who knows.
