Opinion Current Listed Players that will/might be in the HOF

Procedure:
1. Select a player and end his career at this exact moment.

2. Ask yourself if his achievements warrants entry into the Hall of Fame.

This procedure should be followed to eliminate speculation, many players have potential to be in the HOF, however this does not mean they will, for all you could know they can play crap for the remaining years of their career.

For me Definite is around the 75%-100% chance, Fair is around 5%-75% chance and Monty being 1%-5% chance.

I think you're being conservative on most though I can't see Bruce, Dew or Kerr (at this stage of his career) being future HOFers.

I'd say Brad Johnson, Scarlett and Fletcher would be definites. Don't see why you have the likes of Riewoldt, Fev and Brown as only a 1-5% chance while Cox as a fair chance. All have played roughly the same number of games and have been dominant in their positions.

You'd hope that Kirk and Simpson would be honoured with HOF selection Both are legends of their footy clubs and while not the most fashionable players, have gotten the absolute best of themselves.

Fev and Riewoldt whilst certain to make it later on, i just dont think they have played enough games being the only thing that counts against them. Brown should be a fair chance so ill move him up as he has a premiership medal over fev and riewoldt, i also put Cameron Bruce in to keep the poor demon supporters happy but i guess i should take him out as blokes like Kirk, Simpson etc are much better than him.

Fev: 183
Cox: 180
Riewoldt: 173

All three have played a similar number of games.

Of the three, I'd have Roo as most likely AA at this stage. 3 time AA, 4 time B&F, Rising Star and Leigh Matthews Trophy winner.

Will be AA again this year, is a chance for a 2nd Leigh Matthews Trophy and 5th B&F and could very well be premiership captain in 2 months time.

Buddy will be by the end of his career, first indigenous player to kick 100 goals in a season is a veyr HOF stat, as is Micky O's most games for Sydney.

Dont see Brent Harvey being more lilely to make it then Simpson though..

Adelaide: McLeod, Goodwin, Edwards
Brisbane: Black, Brown
Carlton: Judd, Fevola
Collingwood: -
Essendon: Lloyd, Fletcher, Lucas
Fremantle: Pavlich
Geelong: Scarlett
Hawthorn: -
Melbourne: -
North Melbourne: Harvey, Simpson
Port Adelaide: Tredrea
Richmond: Richardson, Cousins
St Kilda: Riewoldt
Sydney: Goodes, O'Loughlin, Hall, Kirk
West Coast: Cox
Western Bulldogs: Johnson, Akermanis

Goodwin is the only player you missed imo. Italics are likely but I'm not sure. Players like Power, Kerr, Presti, Glass, Barry, Hayes, both Cornes, Hodge are names worth mentioning but they are below HOF at this stage.

Yep, the FF of the indigenous team of the century is no chance. 500 goals, 300 games, 2 AA's and a premierships. Yep, he's got no chance in hell.
I've said I'm not sure on Hall and Kirk and the OP had them as well.

The OP had Dew as a monty. Not exactly the best guide to go off him it seems. :D

Adelaide: McLeod, Edwards
Brisbane: Brown, Black, Rich
Carlton: Fevola, Judd, Gibbs,Murphy,Kruzer
Collingwood: Pendlebury
Essendon: Fletcher, Lloyd
Fremantle: Pavlich
Geelong: Ablett, Bartell, Scarlett, Selwood
Hawthorn: Hodge, Franklin
Kangaroos: Harvery, Simpson
Melbourne:depending on how kids develop. So far none have shown enough signs
Port: Tredrea
Richmond: Richardson
St Kilda: Riewoldt, Goddard, Hayes, Dal Santo. All need massive years consistently over the next 2-3
Sydney: O'Loughlin, Kirk, Barry
West Coast: Cox, Kerr
Western Bulldogs: Johnson, Akermanis, Higgins

A lot of the ones in italics are very good young players who if they continue to get better could reach HOF status in 5-7 years. Good chance some of them wont push on far enough but there is enough talent in those guys to be pushing for selection

I think you forgot Goodes and Cousins. Pavlich should be a certainty.
Yeah I forgot Goodes. As for Pavlich if he wasnt at Freo noone would of thought of him. With Cousins I doubt he'll get in. If it was hard for Carey the player of the 90s to get in it will be even harder for Cousins whose off-field troubles are far greater

They will both be selected eventually though. Not sure what you mean about Pavlich.

What? You say there are better players around and you list retired players? Obviously players like Lockett and Modra were better. Hall has been better than Bradshaw, Lucas, and Rocca.

Hall isn't playing himself anymore , I was simply comparing him to the other forwards that have been in the competition at the same time as him. Out of newer forwards I'd throw Franklin in over Hall as well.

At times he was good, but Hall has never been consistent.

He's overhyped due to his bad temper and bald head.

I guess if the HOF selectors are the same as this year's AA bunch, Hall could sneak in.

O'Loughlin deserves HOF more than Hall for mine.

I agree that he is only a slight chance, odds are he wont get in and I'm fine with that. He only had a few dominant years but at his best he was better than most of those names you mentioned. They have consistency over him though.
I also agree that O'Loughlin is more of a chance.

Pavlich and Lloyd I agree definites, but not Judd? C'mon he has to rate equal if not better than both of these two!
