This should be a great match up.

Both teams are quite different from the other. The Lions play will a lot of flair while the Bulls are somewhat more conservative.

I think the Lions will be too strong though, and will run away with it in the last 15mins or so. But its good to see the Bulls back in force. They finished bottom of the S12 ladder but now will have a strong side for next year - good to see.

Lions for the win.

Fox Sports is showing this game live at 11:00pm this Saturday.

You stole my thunder!:p

Was just going to put up a small thread on these 2 finals.....thanks and looking forward to this one too.

I wish we had some sort of footy comp. here in Aust. at this time of year........I miss the rugby league and union.

True.....but what I really would like is to see some sort of rugby comp. over the summer season....of course, it would be tough with the warmer weather and players involved with tests, etc. but it would carry over some interest into summer months and keep rugby in the spotlight.

Just a thought.

Anyway, really enjoyed the Lions and Bulls game with a fantastic atmosphere at the ground and great support.

Can Iverson or yourself tell me why they didn't play the game at night.....far more atmosphere and I am sure, more ratings on tv for the home market........not that it lacked much atmosphere anyway.

Cheers

I don't know.

South African rugby has a tradition of car boot parties at these games. ie hundreds of b.b.q.s before the game in the carpark, perhaps as a safety issue they perfer it to happen during the day?

Also I'm sure it didn't affect the decision but from what I have heard from people who have been to the Republic you do not want to be near Ellis Park at night.

In an ultraviolent city it is one of the most dangerous parts of Joberg.

I would say safety too.

Jo'burg has a notorious crime rate and has a very bad reputation for its violence.

The CC final had one of the best atmospheres that I have ever heard on TV. The crowd were really into it - but I guess it is a typically thing for South African supports. I have never see so many flags waved at a game as well - looked like every 3rd person had a flag.

Yes of course, safety would be the reason for the day game.
We really are blessed here in Aust. (so far!)

Its a pity however, but I am pretty sure now its part of their tradition and if they like their barbies they better stick to it!

Iverson, yes the colour and flags were superb and the singing really added to the game.
