yeah that's why i said it was the slightest nod. it's roughly the same shape but also the yoke is much less sharp and it's maroon for some reason

The New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles of the NFL would agree, having both won only one Super Bowl each while struggling for decades.
The Green Bay Packers are the notable exception, having been successful for most of their existence.

Thinking about other sports, the North Queensland Fury were the only A League team to wear green and they lasted just two seasons. The Townsville Crocodiles also wore green in the NBL, and they have also folded. There were no Super Rugby Teams from Australia or New Zealand that wore green, but the Cheetahs from South Africa wore green in their jumpers. Guess what? The Cheetahs are no longer in Super Rugby.
In Rugby League, the South Sydney Rabbitohs and Canberra Raiders wear green, Souths green and red, Canberra lime green with white, blue and gold. The Penrith Panthers and New Zealand Warriors have at times worn green in their uniforms but no longer do so, and these teams have changed their jumpers so much it is hard to say what their true colors are. South Sydney have won the most premierships in NRL history, while the Raiders were dominant in the late 1980s and early 1990s. However it is worth noting that in recent years these teams achievements have been more humble. South Sydney's 2014 premiership is their only premiership since 1971, and the team went from 1990-2006 not playing finals at all. The mighty Raiders easily won the 1994 premiership, their third from four grand finals in six years. But since then, they have not won another premiership, and did not play in another premiership decider until 2019. The Raiders' 1994 premiership is now closer in time to the 1969 Moon landing than the present day.
All true, except that the Warriors brought back their classic design (with green) last year. And have kept it this year.
Were the shorts really like that? One side panel red and the other green?Fremantle only got 5 wins in the 32 matches they wore this:

Wasn't there a classic incident one game (at least one game) where some dockers players had jumpers with the green and red panels reversed (ie green on the left instead of the right)?
Yes. This is one of those jumpers. I don’t believe this was worn in the game but is certainly player issue.

Mm, can't agree. Even though it's as simple as flipping the colours, that's not good. Not sure if nostalgia's making me think that way, but it looks so off.Looks better that way.

Tend to agree the red of the AFL badge on the red background really messes around with my head. Just looks wrong. Even the Yakka logo against the green background doesn't look right either.
Without being too much of a prick, that is one of the worst jumpers Brisbane have had for a long time IMOWe never won a single game, including pre-season and regular season, in this jumper.
The sad thing is out of all the clash jumpers we have had throughout our history this passes the "if we had to wear a clash jumper in a Grand Final" test the best.
Looks so sick though, maybe the curse is a result of not wearing it since thenThe year is 2014. Fresh off wearing the Prison Bars in a convincing elimination final win, and being 1 kick away from a grand final appearance, The future was looking bright in the Hinkley era. Then the admin decided to go the other way and bring this out in the off-season of 2014/15.
We haven't won a final since, nor have we worn the Prison Bars at AFL level since (a global pandemic stopping us from wearing it in round 2 this year), and somehow Hinkley is still here almost 6 years later. #TealJumperCurse.
What is this supposed to say about ochre?View attachment 869886
wrong type of eagle,
eagle facing the wrong way
Everything about it is awful.
Dunno about so sick but it is definitely better than the silver pile of s**t that replaced it!!!Looks so sick though, maybe the curse is a result of not wearing it since then
Ochre is a tad different. The Eagles wing follows the WA coastline on that jumper so it KIND OF gets away with the ‘eagle facing west’ problem. What is this supposed to say about ochre?
i remember growing up and seeing that jumper and just thinking blehView attachment 869886
This jumper is cursed for me, just because it is the epitomy of our club becoming a soulless corporate machine.

I used to like it growing up because I was like WOAH THAT EAGLE LOOKS COOL and had no idea about the clubs history or story. I was devo as a child when they changed it to the eagle head.i remember growing up and seeing that jumper and just thinking bleh
The Eagle always looked fat to meView attachment 869886
