A GF win that broke a 37 year drought. Blessed. For winning one grand final at home in it? How about every time you've gone interstate with it...
I tried to post this but Tapatalk kept freezing.Since we changed designs in 2010, Port haven't won a final in their current home design, with or without the number panel. We've won every final played in an away or alternate guernsey.
The sample size is only 6 games, but still.
Reminds me of thisI think St Kilda only won about 2 or 3 of about 15 games wearing this design, including some horrible losses during a really bad period.

Was also the guernsey worn during the infamous virgin film fest ad
The original Gold Coast rugby league team played from 1988-1998 and had a poor record on the field, and a host of problems off it, re-branding several times. It started off in 1988-1989 as the Gold Coast Giants wearing silver, black and white jumpers. It then changed to the Gold Coast Seagulls from 1990-1995 playing out of Tweed Heads Stadium in red, white and black jumpers. Facing collapse after the 1995 season, it then took the field again in 1996 as the Gold Coast Chargers playing out of Carrara in jade, purple, gold and black jumpers. Despite the problems for the club and the Super League terminal at the time, it played pretty well in 1996 and made the finals in 1997, but fell away in 1998 and was axed from the NRL in December 1998 along with the Adelaide Rams.
However, what isn't commonly known is that the Gold Coast actually rebranded four times during its troubled tenure. In the tumultuous 1995-1996 off season, the Seagulls were originally changed to the Gold Coast Gladiators, and this team was to wear royal blue and sky blue jumpers, much like the former VFA team the Prahran Two Blues. However, the Gold Coast Gladiators never made it to the start of the 1996 season, and the hastily put together Chargers took their place. So we never got to see the Gold Coast in their double blue jumpers.
That's a shame - I liked this one
It hints at this one:what a weird jumper. it's the vaguest possible nod to Fitzroy but also nothing like anything they ever wore
The Brisbane Bears in their early years from 1987-1991 wore a jumper design much maligned at the time, but now seen as kitsch and 'so bad its good'. The main jumper was gold, with a maroon yoke, triangular BB logo on the front and a maroon stripe extending from the front of the logo around to the back where it stopped just under the jumper number, which was also maroon.
There was also an inverse of this, maroon with gold yoke, logo, stripe and numbers. The Bears wore the mainly gold jumper at home, but did wear the maroon jumper in Queensland against Hawthorn due to a jumper clash, and even this clashed badly. The Bears would also wear their maroon jumper in away matches, but there seemed no rhyme or reason to when, where and against whom they would wear it. Sometimes you would see the Bears playing away in the late 1980s and early 1990s in their mainly gold jumper, sometimes the maroon one and it wasn't due to jumper clashes.
The Bears didn't have a good record at all in these seasons, but their record away from home was really, really bad. In the five seasons the BB jumper was worn, the Bears won three times at the MCG, one time each at other Melbourne venues Waverley, Princes Park and Moorabbin, once in Geelong and twice in Sydney, the Bears failing to win in Perth or Adelaide at all during these years. Year by year, Brisbane won away 3 times in both 1987 and 1988, 2 times in 1989, none in 1990 and just 1 away win in 1991.
With an away record standing at a dismal 9-47 from 56 starts (one 1988 game against the Eagles was transferred from the Gold Coast to the WACA in Perth) I wonder how many times, if at all, the Bears won in their alternate maroon jumper during these years? Some of these rare Bears away wins are on Youtube, and in all of them the Bears are wearing the main gold jumper. Even in 1989 against Hawthorn at Carrara when the Bears caused the upset of the year by beating the Hawks, somebody decided it was a good idea to have both Brisbane and Hawthorn in their gold jumpers, rather than the Bears in their maroon jumper. I couldn't find any footage or images from a match in Round 11 1991 where the Bears thrashed the Sydney Swans in a high scoring match at the SCG, so I'm not sure what jumper the Bears wore that day.
Does anyone know if the Bears ever won a match wearing their mainly maroon jumper?

Thanks Lemon Boi - so the Bears never did win a game in their alternate 1987-1991 jumper.
Green seems to be an unlucky color in high level Australian Rules Football. The Dockers used to have green in their jumpers, but abandoned it along with the red in favor of purple and white early, which seems a pity as the red and green represented the maritime port and starboard and paid tribute to Fremantle's rich Italian heritage.
No WAFL team has ever worn green, although Peel wear teal in their jumpers. The Woodville Warriors (previously Woodpeckers) played in the SANFL for 27 seasons and wore green and gold jumpers, but mainly struggled with just 3 finals series in that time, no grand finals and lots of wooden spoons and low ladder positions. When they merged with the neighboring and also struggling West Torrens Eagles at the end of the 1990 season, the merged club adopted the Eagles emblem and has sported a variety of different blue, gold and green jumpers in the years since then. Some of the Eagles jumpers have had blue as the main color, others gold, but green has never been dominant in any WWT jumper.
Green is also absent from the NEAFL, and at present the VFL. The Northcote Dragons wore green and gold in their years in the VFA, but were mainly mediocre after WW2 confined mostly to Division Two and dropped out after 1987. The Tassie Devils entered in 2001 and wore green, red, gold and black, but while they showed early promise this did not last and the Devils lasted just 8 seasons and disbanded after 2008 with successive wooden spoons.
In the TAC Cup, the Ballarat Rebels wore green, gold and blue in their early years, but switched to black and white after a joint venture with North Ballarat. The Tassie Mariners and NSW/ACT Rams had green in their jumpers when full time teams in this league, but then became invitation only teams playing limited matches from 2003 onwards, and the Rams switched to sky blue, dark blue and gold jumpers.
