This is just plain bs. Rioli doesn't even have the talent. He has no tank and can't take real pressure.
Cause he runs in spurts and gets the odd goal does not equal talent. He was never going to be player "they" said he would be.

Disagree, a tank isn't the same as talent. He can read the play nicely and has a good kick, can be very evasive and calm under pressure. The problem is he has zero tank and zero heart.

Did you see the game VJ? I was there - I did see an old, toothless, ragged looking coot struggling to contain a young child, couldn't have been older than 5.

Kinda reminded me of you for some reason
Being a lover of footy, rather than a cultist like yourself, I thought it important to have the child see the footy grounds of the past before the lawsuits see everything turned to rubble. And that will be this year. So yesterday was a priority.

Feeble VJ, even by your paltry standards

He's still young, only 25, as far as I remember Johnson only kicked up a gear on his career at around the same age, because of that I will reserve my judgement for another couple years.

But it does pain me to agree that his stamina is average at best, below average at worst.

We all know Lloyd is a massive tool, but he brings up an interesting point here, Rioli has talent to burn but just doesn't use it.

Yes, he's had injuries, but so did Steve Johnson and he managed to have a far greater impact than Rioli, even while he played exclusively as a lazy half forward.

Why do Hawks fans get so excited by him, he's not even in the top ten players at your club? I can honestly say that Hodge, Mitchell, Roughead, Burgoyne, Breust, Birchall, Gibson, Lake, Lewis, Gunston and Hale are all significantly more valuable players than Rioli. I understand how kids get excited by his freakish moments, but we're grown ups on Big Footy, we know it's the accurate kicking and ferocious competitiveness that make Hawthorn the great team they are, not silky cameos.
The moment anyone in the media breathes a word that Cyril might be a touch overrated the Handbaggers react like this

Earth to Corio Bay dickheads: You will NEVER EVER be able to undo the pain Cyril inflicted on you in the 2008 GF. We all know this is why you constantly talk him down.

Take a hint you fools

JUST

You could take it as a compliment; it's a testament to how strong your side is that you can carry a cameo player like Cyril.

Pfft. When he does deliver, he delivers in spades. Yes, he's inconsistent. Same is true of Stevie Junktime Johnson. Goes missing in big games just as often as he does something good, but usually just accumulates stats (like in 08) of little impact. Most of the goals he gets against us are seagull efforts in the pocket (because he's only capable of snapping), and his presence has never once caused us to lose (yes, even the goals he kicked on Monday were little of his own effort, and nothing his team mates couldn't have done).

Steve Johnson - underachiever?

As one of your more intelligent Hawthorn supporters pointed out earlier that was very much the case for Stevie J for quite a while, but he's seriously improved in his consistency, and can dominate entire games from the midfield.

Had a good laugh at this paragraph
Jobe Watson stunned everyone at Essendon, including myself, with his ability to transform his physical weaknesses through dedication and a desire to fulfil his full potential. Like Rioli, Watson continually broke down due to soft-tissue injuries, but over just one off season his use of a boxing coach, sprints coach and a dietitian catapulted him to levels that no one ever thought he could reach
Which off season was that again Matthew?
