Umm, over the course of the contract we are paying buddy as much as the Hawks were offering, how are we ******?

Who cares if he finishes his career on the side line? It basically hasn't cost us a cent more than any other team was happy to pay.

He just wanted out of the whinging whining Hawks to be at the red and white.
It's the length of time worked into a deal that will carry on long, long after the COLA readjustment in 2-3 years

It's basically the exact opposite of Luke Ball's deal. Very little for Buddy in the first couple of years, but if he just hangs around for 5 years, he can 'retire' and pull the full value from his remaining owed amount

You'll be paying for a guy that isn't there, entirely over a single year in an amount that might actually be your entire salary cap for a season. How is that even defensible? It's self sabotage of the kind that Brisbane dabbled in briefly. It'll drive away your established players, and root your list for a generation

For what? To add an unnecessary piece, to a forward line that was already broken, after you brought in a name for no reason AFTER you'd cracked the puzzle of how to win a flag without big forwards

You're now a setup gag, sitting out for 5 years waiting for the punch line. I hope the AFL doesn't save you from yourselves :thumbsu:

Lol, did you actually go to that childish cup holding thing that none of the players want to be at that they do for the kids?

Did hawthorn include their pets in that number?

I could imagine that a lot of the Hawks fans on big footy would be the type to own 8 or 9 cats, all named after different Hawthorne player. "oh gosh darn it, Hodge has gone missing again"
It's Rioli that goes missing.

Nah I did. I didn't worry bout that shitty GF parade though, I was preoccupied at the MCC GF eve lunch (we've got 10k MCC members that support Hawthorn, Shitney have > 2k evidently)

28,000 rocked up to our celebrations, 7,000 rocked up to yours.

We have 60,000 plus members and draw 900k to 1m to our home and away games, you have 35000 members and draw 500k to 600k to your home and away games.

We have 11 flags in 88 years and you have 5 flags in 120 years.

We filled our GF allocation of seats to both GF's, you didn't...after three bites at the cherry no less!

You drew 20k to your first home game after winning the flag, we drew 70k to our first match after the '08 flag (albeit against the Cats). Evidently I highly doubt well draw such a shitful attendance to our first home game...what do you think?

You posted a financial loss after the premiership last year, we've posted 7 successive $2m+ profits.

Shitney get outrated by Iron Chief in their home market, we don't...

Hawthorn is a far bigger and more successful club than Shitney :)

Suffice to say we're superior in every way, even with COLA we've won more flags in the AFL era and 1990-2013 has been a baron era for Hawtorn!

Hawthorn supporters in the leafy east might sign up their pets but Shitney need all the support they can get. It's current ******* deplorable.

I fly around a bit for work and spend a fair bit of time in Shitney and I can tell you that 98% of George St doesn't give a **** about the Stains.

I know a lot of the so called Shitney Flogs disappeared from the bay a few weeks ago.

However they should try to keep up with current events.

we are the Premiers. :thumbsu:

There's one every year. When you're expected to win it, it's not that big a deal

Buddy will be pushing 30% of their team out, so you will need to get used to his bitching
Hannelbury is the first if you believe the inside mail :)

Enjoy mediocrity Shitney, between that Spud Tippett and the leader of the Bundy Brothers you'll go far...

The top 10 players by merchandise sales...

http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/most-popular-afl-player-by-merch-sales.977843/

The top 10:

1. Lance Franklin - Hawthorn
2. Cyril Rioli - Hawthorn
3. Chris Judd - Carlton
4. Jobe Watson - Essendon
5. Luke Hodge - Hawthorn
6. Joel Selwood - Geelong
7. Marc Murphy - Carlton
8. Adam Goodes - Sydney Swans
9. Jimmy Bartel - Geelong
10. Lenny Hayes - St Kilda

3 of the top 5 players were from Hawthorn.

With Franklin now gone to a smaller club, Cyril Rioli is now the most marketable figure in the game :thumbsu:

This reads like a offended justification of why Hawks' fans are offended - the exact same thing could have and was posted this time last year.

So yeah, thread topic confirmed.

Chill out bra, your team just won a flag and you got smoke coming from the ears!

Watching the Swans commiting list management suicide is fun. I can only imagine how great it must be for the Hawks to be sending them the poison pill

Deflect all you want, the Swans are now officially ****ed for 15+ years :thumbsu:
We have done a solid for the league, sending them the Hawks Trojan Horse. Shitney were silly enough to fall for it.

Imaging in one single move you could obliterate their cap, obliterate the CoLA and send them a forward flanker party boy, 2 years past his best, for a 10mil contract.

Pretty freakin awesome if you ask me and all footy supporters should unify and thank us for bringing these welfare scabs back to the pack.

Yeah, because all the other clubs would have given him 1.2 mil at the end of this contract term when he is 31 years old.

What would have happened in reality is he would have either retired at the end of this term or been on year by year at half the 1.2mil figure at best. You billy bunts are going to be paying closer to 1.5 - 1.6 mil when he is in the old folks home. Regardless of if you can afford it with your welfare payments, that's big coin that could have gone to multiple good players to keep your list ticking on.

Yeah because the Sydney administration have never made mistakes before. Hawks played you like fools by releasing info that we would match the offer to force a trade for sausages, we never wanted him in the first place, we are after another ruck. Forced your club to make the offer a ridiculous length, which you guys did just because you can, just to shut us out. Now you are lumped with it.

Bra

we got Buddy. he was the greatest ever player for the poopoo peepees but said get ****** to them UMAD?
He's not even the best Hawthorn player of this era...

Hodge and Mitchell have been far better servants of the football club.

Evidently Franklin would have been 10th or 11th in our B&F for the season
