This might make you feel better

I was born in October 1993 1 month after our the grand final. Then i started following football/carlton in 2000 i yr after us being in a grand final.

From 2000-2008 we have been god damn hopeless and wont improve. So i wish i was a Melbourne supporter as ill bet you will thump us this year

I want 2 see the likes of Maric,Cheney,Grimes (when fit), Martin and McNamra being selected as of next week.

I would rather watch a bunch of 1st gamers get smashed by 100 points compared to the overpriced soft c**ks that we put on the paddock today, atleast then they young kids are getting a taste of the elite level and they way we have played so far in 08 (including pre season), surely it is worth considering.

Can someone tell me, what the **** Jones was doing in the forward line, no disrespect to the champ, but he can't kick accuratley over 30m on a good day. I mean he belongs at the centre bounce and at the bottom of the packs, no where else

i was at my schools footy training the other day and i was wearing my melbourne training top. and i had a number of people say you must be so embarassed to wear that. ive supported melbourne for all 18 years of my short life. ive been to every final melbourne has played in melbourne for the last 10 years. i went to the game today and actually thought last week was a one off and we could bounce back. i thought we have skillful players. but i went today and i saw professional footballers making those stupid mistakes that u get taught not to do at auskick.
Ive heard lots of stuff come out of melbourne. I heard from sources that jeff white labelled this years preseason as 'the worst he has ever been involved with'. it just looks like other teams are doing the right type of training and we didnt get the memo. The only positive i got out of today was at the train station. a 40 yr old female bulldogs supporter walked past a 60 odd yr old melbourne supporter and told her she was brave to stay till the end. the melbourne supporter turned around and said ive supported melbourne for 60 years, seen 7 premierships, more than you will ever see, and im not about to stop supporting now. why dont our players show this kind of passion. and what ever happened to some good old abuse from the coach to fire up the players. there was no heart today. see you in geelong

Passionate scenes from the bloke in a Melbourne being dragged out by security in the bottom deck of the Ponsford during the 4th. However his baiting of Dogs fans and suggestions that he was going to smash them was hard to take seriously when he was in a double armbar with two cops coming towards him as well.

I like this story. My old man is a Dogs supporter. He tells me he saw the 54 flag live at the MCG. However since my old man is 79 he has been alive long enough to have seen 10 Melbourne premierships.
Despite the massive loss today Melbourne is far from the saddest club in VFL/AFL history even though most of us weren't b orn when the last flag was won.
Don't despair Melbourne fans. Our young fans have seen nothing yet. You need to be close to 40 like me to remember the Mother of All losses by 190 pts to Fitzroy in 1979. That sucked big time.
The team will get better this year and win a game or 5 but 7 to 10 current players won't be there next year and most of the list will be gone after 3 years.
Bailey will prove okay but needs time. Judge Bailey after 2009.Judging after 2 games is silly in my humble opinion.
Keep the Faith
Keep attending games &
Go Dees

Highlights on CH 10 tonight showed a Melbourne player, Push another player out of the contest, not even looking at the ball, then the ball hit him in the head ????

Who was that ???

lol that would of been our one day to be captain 'Brock Mcclean'

I remember Hawthorn 3-4 years ago was at a similar crossroads - through some aggressive trading & list management, things turn around surprisingly quickly these days.

You can't tell me a midfield of Mclean, Sylvia, Morton & Nathan Jones (very underrated) isn't the nucleus of an A-grade midfield division. As someone who has had to endure the "rhode" years at the Whitten Oval, try to focus on the young guys showing a bit of ticker & hopefully you can find something to get excited aboput as soon as possible.

Good luck :thumbsu:

Spot on. Chin up dees fans, i have a soft spot for the dees as my best mate is a dee member and i've seen many a melbourne game. I remember in 2004 that I was almost embarrassed to be a Hawthorn member. Weekly beltings, coach sacked, captain stood down - just nasty. But things can turn around quickly. Hard decisions need to be made on the current list but you should aim to get 5 picks in the first 25 of the upcoming draft (superdraft 08) and that, along with the great young guys you've already got, will see you rise again soon!

Hang in there! :thumbsu:

It's disappointing that we don't even have a core group of leaders that you can say "Win, lose or draw, I know these 6 guys will have a go today".

Look at the Bulldogs over the last 10 years. Have had their ups and downs, but at least they could go to the game knowing that West, Johnson, Grant, Darcy and Smith would all give their best.

We haven't had that since Lyon, Schwarz, Stynes, Viney and Tingay, but even back then they were injured half the time.

James McDonald deserves an apology for his 200th game. I felt so bad for him, the team let down the soul of the club in Neitz against the Pies last year, and we let down the heart of the club in McDonald yesterday.

Pathetic, but we'll get up there

Note to opposition fans. Unless what you have to say is constructive, we don't give a shit what you think. I'm red-carding anyone now who thinks their negative opinion counts.
Piss off if you're just going to cause trouble.

Good call. I'm not in the mood for sly and sarcastic comments from any opposition fans right now. It was an absolute nightmare out there yesterday and the papers are all over it again this morning.

I feel sorry for those that try who have to put up with the piss-weak efforts from the majority of the team.
