I'm sure the coaching panel will make sure that the players are looked after. There are pretty ordinary surfaces around..... Hate to be in d2 playing at emmaus!

TT lets get back to the discussion 5 weeks ago when we lost at lake Aquinas! Perhaps you will have a better understanding after tomorrow about what we were talking about, take your snorkels and flippers. If you reckon ESL is bad wait until tomorrow!

I doubt it would ever be that bad again this season as it wasnt helped by the terrible conditions on the day itself

What can u do about it? Why worry about it, just go
there get the job done and hope u come home with no
injuries.

Except for a tool a few years ago, in the twos from Werribee, who no longer plays, there has been nothing but good hard football played between the two teams. I feel nothing will be anything different tomorrow. There has been nothing but mutrall respect between the two clubs for the last 4 years. Best of luck where ever Aquinas ends up.

Trevor's run home.

Monash v Werribee - a twist to the fixture will see the current top 2 sides probably go at it 2 weeks in a row. Imagine this week will see many players in 2 minds as to how much they want a psych advantage and how much they don't want to show their hand or get injured. Clubs have only ever played each other once in their histories as far as I know which adds to the intrigue.

Peninsula v Friars - Pirates need a big win and a big Monash loss to sneak into second spot. Odds are good on the big win given their home form and Friars seeming to have dropped off based on Saturday's result from Friar Park. Monash obviously favoured to lose as well, so may be some margin checking towards the end of the day...

Willy v SMD - Willy need any sort of win and any sort of loss by NOBs at Mentone to sneak back into the four. The first part of the equation seems likely.

OMs v NOBS - OMs have really dropped off the pace and based on recent results one would expect NOBs to get up, but don't believe they will get things all their own way at Mentone, who are probably glad Aquinas didn't change coaches a few weeks earlier!

Bulleen Temp v Aquinas - the only game with no bearing on anything other than bragging rights

Was the aquinas ground that bad in the end?

I didn't go, was there any injuries?

TT the ground was horrible, Under 18s and Reserves played on it before the senior game which wouldnt of helped!! Werribee's class came through in the end, still think they will comfortably win the GF. No injuries that i could see.

Wasnt at the ground either but talking to a few of the boys on sat night it was the worst conditions they have ever played in. You cudnt kick the ball off more than one step and running was impossible just a game of rugby all day and aquinas had the better of the tiges for 3 quarters just the third after a new sort of motivotianal speech by Kirky that im told was just gold the tiges put there foot down and game was over in 15 mins. Im also told the ruckman for wbee spent sat noght in hospital in a pretty bad way aparrently some real concerns for him can anyone allaborate more.

If Werribee only managed 9 goals and won a low scoring game then it must have been as shocking as always

Looking forward to the game against Peninsula this week, will be a very interesting match
I don't know why,you complained about the conditions at Aquinas wait till you get to Peninsula.

agreed, lots of stick is given on here to the Werribbee boys, especially the 2s. While we've had our battles in the past, including an epic 2007 GF - still bleeding btw - the bloods certainly respect the way the Werribbee boys go about it, good hard (mud) fight on the weekend with their class shining through in the end. Its always a battle we look forward too and best of luck for the finals.

Notice the VAFA has now not got a clue when and where the finals are being played until the sunday before each final. Councils are giving them grief. Tiges might be getting a home final. Wouldn't that be nice:D
Preview to second semi this week at tigerland. Battle of wits between coaches to see what shananagans they will get up to. Will they field their best side or lay down. Reckon it will be played at top speed whoever takes the field as will be be good for winning side to take into following week.

Bocce, I would expect to see some full strength sides going hell for leather over two weeks.

Home final would be nice. I'm sure Monash would love to come over the west gate and down the road twice in two weeks.

Should be a cracker. Cant wait to watch it.

Heard the tiges coach was still at the club at 11 oclock on tuesday night doin his homework on the monash side doesnt sound to me he would be doing that if he was going to tank. It would take 30 seconds to work out how to lose the game not 3 hours. Also heard they have a few injury worries Mccutcheon, fastuca, and adamo but have been told there not resting anyone if they are healthy they will be playing. And to make sure there up and running some have been told there playing for there spot in the side. Sounds to me like they are going to have a full on crack any more thoughts.

Monash are a tough side and obviously done well this season. I saw half of the first stoush and it was fairly tight (missed the last quarter where Werribee ran away with it).
Werribee were probably going a little bit better, but it was highly competitive.

These next two weeks could be a great war between two good sides, and this is the stuff that great rivalries are formed.

Werribee have had these in the past through the divisions, i.e Emmaus, Sth Melb, Aquinas, St.Johns. This was the case from good clashes at the time and usually played out through finals.

Im sure that both sides will be looking for an edge, and Finals for these two sides start now.

mobile, you already going down the injury path again before a final has been played ?, mccutcheon will cost you a final with his lack of discipline, fastuca is just too big and heavy to cover any ground and adamo got taught a lesson on how to be accountable in two finals last year, in saying this they will be to good and will smack monash twice in two weeks, one thing i will say is pressure style of football wins pressure games ( finals ), when the acid is on in two weeks i look forward to seeing how the bees respond.

Miss Finland i like t.t. have no connection with the tiges but my son has lots of mates that play there and i am a footy tragic and love going to watch them play. so going down the injury path as you say is just a report to who might br interested i can assure you the coach wudnt care who is ijured never has but i can tell you they are a differnt side to last year and have been all year very focused on dispelling last year. i wiil also tell you if they do get beat in the finals which is alwys a possibility they will go down with the spirit they have had all year not with a injury xcuse like last year.
