Fair Dinkum Jack, If Friars dont beat Aquinas, and not win easy, just take the rest of the year off.

Yeah it must have been a shocker by them last week probably akin to facing witches hats for your blokes. Did they play with 18 or have some injuries that meant they were playing with less then a full team.

Didnt actually go, but seriously, you should give them a smacking. SMD would be travelling better than them at the moment.

tt i made the trip down to watch bees vs aquinas on the weekend and to be frank, the aquinas fellas looked disinterested and didnt care.
it was as if they knew the bees were a good side and just let it get the better of them. definately a poor effort by the team and i think they need to pull their socks up this weekend to save face

It seems that the hype surrounding Aquinas pre-season may have disregarded the talent that already existed in D1.

Perhaps Aquinas thought that a few good A grade players would be all that was needed to go places. However, i would have thought that they top 3-7 (perhaps more) at most D1 clubs would be pretty solid players in A-grade (or not?). Most would agree that the top 5 players at each club in D1 would be pretty similar meaning that its infact that strength of the bottom 10 or so players that makes a good side great. I cant recall many gun recruits from higher grades dominating the competition as its thought they would....to think that Krakouer and Cultera and a few EFL so called guns would be all thats needed to dominate the supposed lowly D1 is a bit disrespectful and as it turns out untrue.

Here's to a pretty handy division!

Will-I-am you are correct. Having spent the last 6 years in C grade I can confirm that the current Werribee side would be looking at a spot in the four in C at the moment, and the current Monash side would be competitive in C Grade. Of course that is the nature of the Ammos and what makes it such a level comp. It is also true that several D1 players in each team could hold their own in A grade, and in fact one of our current players played in the A grade grand final in 2009. The difference between the grades is of course the number of "A grade standard" players on each list.

Most def. The Ammos has been full over the years with players in D Grade and below who then become top A and B's when the side gets there. Think Skevs, Carey, Blacks and many others. A few guns is never the key.

Thats huge news about the sacking of the Aquinas coach. The culture is definetly lacking as when we played there, there was double the amount of our players hanging back for a beer than Aquinas players.

No surprise on coach getting the arse. Club is definitely lacking some spirit and maybe even some thursday night black jack aswell.

Trev great post on the ladder.

Think Monash and OMs will be fighting for 2nd spot. Peninsula and Nobs and maybe Willy if they get up this week fighting for 4th.

Think Aquinas will finish last. South will make a end of session charge for 8th.

League b & f so far.

Would have the rednut no 12? from monash, Lee from werribee and snow from oms.

Interesting stuff David, where exactly is Snow playing coz I noticed he's yet to kick a goal?

Turn it up: did also notice that not many Aquinas blokes hung around after round 2 (long memory i know). Some clubs go missing in this respect but like to think each team should put a bit of cash through the opposition bar after the game.

Trevor's tips - Launch of 'The Slopdometer' Final Ladder predictor

Based on favorites picked on current form, ladder position and home ground and making the rest up, I can predict the final ladder, however this does not take into account upsets (usually 2 per week!) and should be taken on interest only. Each week instead of tips I will put down my predicted final ladder with team, points and %.

WERRIBEE 72 189.09

MONASH 48 121.57

NOBs 44 115.45

OLD MENTON 40 111.29

PENINSULA 40 104.99

BULLEEN TEMP 36 111.20

WILLMSTOWN 36 101.77

WHITEFRIARS 28 89.36

AQUINAS 12 64.81

SOUTH MELB 4 45.50

Heard from reiable source this morning that Werribee have 10 players unavailable for this weeks game vs williamstown would T.T be able to give us the heads up or someone from the tiges confirm.

NOBS V BT - BT by 20 points Nobs never perform against BT, for some reason they just cannot get on top of them. Still confident NOBS will finish third though.

Aquinas V Friars - Friars by 36 points

Willy V Werribee - Werribee by 15 points

Monash
V SMD - Monash by 7 points - good weekend to go back home for the students against the bottom side? Bottom side may push them...

Old Mentone V Peninsula - by 19 points... BT, Friars and Willy are better than both these sides, how they keep winning is beyond me.

NOBS by 23
Friars by as many numbers on my keyboard
Werribee by 32
Monash by 102 not because SMD are bad, but because Monash are good.
Old Mentonias to win by 12

I disagree with your comments about OM's and Peninsula.

I think they are both better than Willy & Friars, and Bulleen Looked ordinary when they played Werribee.

Oms are the only side to get close to Werribee, and Peninsula find a way to win, that is a sign of a decent side.

Surely you can make a call to someone down there just want to keep my credability in tact as am new poster but see that Lee and Panayi have been given permit to play at Werribee VFL for this week.Whats the story there?

Not too sure about that comment. These sides have played us, Friars and BT 6 times for 6 wins. who is better would seem self explanatory.....it appears your bias is clouding your judgement!

Come on Trev, there is no way that Werribee will go through undefeated as long as your slopden points to the ground.

Lot of players missing from the Werribee side this week.........Willi def a chance..........our boys will be up to the challenge though.

Word just through Aquinas sacked their senior coach last week - Bloods have lowered the boom at Ringwood!! Seems to be a big move by the club. Are they letting the players off the hook by taking this action?? Has the coach been the victim of poor prior years performances??

Interested to hear from Bloods supporters?

Something really odd going on down there. Cultrera kicked a bag of goals in a poor A grade side last year but can't get going at all in a poor D Grade side. Maybe has had an injury??
