Good to see alot more action on the D1 thread. Tips:

NOBS v Bullen - Huge game here and very hard to tip. the stronger bodies of Bullen or the running game of NOBS. Ummm Bullen in an upset
Aquinas v Whitefriars - Whitefriars a too good of team to be in the relegation battle. To win comfortably
Williamstown v Werribee - Talk is that alot of Werribee players will be missing, but this tipster isnt brave enough to tip against them
Monash v South - Even with uni holidays, moash will win by plently
Old Mentonians v Peninsula - Old Mentonians to get revenge and push Peninsula out of the four

word along the grapevine is werribee definately have 11 players missing from tomorrows clash with willi.
interestingly enough both lee and panyai are playing in the vfl tomorrow but question for you mobile, how did you know these changes before the team did?
selection for a team is done on the thursday night at training not during the morning.

Was talking to well known Altona person and they indicated to me that they had sent some players back to them to play some new blood and were keen to look at couple of Werribee kids.Altona wanted some of there kids given an opportunity and were a bit dissapointed. So checked VFL website and those 2 players got permits Wednesday.Hope that xplains and can you confirm 8 to 10 out and why?

Not too sure about that comment. These sides have played us, Friars and BT 6 times for 6 wins. who is better would seem self explanatory.....it appears your bias is clouding your judgement!

Agh, i follow the North Old Boys kids, so im not sure where i've the bias has come form. Do not rate Peninsula or Mentone, especially Mentone. In comparison to BT, Willy and Whitefriars anyway.

i was aware of where your from before i posted, check a few posts and its pretty clear. just seems a few things you've said have been against what form and ladder would suggest, hence a bias for/against some teams. seem to particuarly dislike mentone - any reason why?

11 players out are a lot, are most middle to lower tier or higher??? big chance for us this weekend to get one up on everyone else!

will be at willy to see how tigers will go with all the outs. twos will be a laughf, wonder how the coaches will go:thumbsdown:

Have heard they cant field a reserves side as there u/19s have 8 playing jets this week and some gone into the seniors so they cant supply anymore. Also heard some of there past legends are saddling up in the ressies so as they dnt have to forfeit.

Interesting results as always in D1.

Willy have set their season up and gives them a real chance for the 4.

NOBs and Monash both red hot so should be a great contest at Gillon next week.

Peninsula keep on winning and they would be well pleased.

Bulleen Temp would be shattered - last 2 weeks have hurt big time. Finals chance gone?

Friars? Victims of new coach? Travel terribly? Relegation fight is on...

Finally - check out the ladder in B Section - UNBELIEAVABLE

Great effort by the bloods to hit back after coping a hiding last week, looking forward to Peninsula next week.

Great competition here in D1 (although not as tight as B!!), my thoughts after Round 10:

Bees were always going to drop one, but still clearly top dog
Willy alive and kicking but unlikely in my book
Aquinas a stirring win, can they keep it up?
Monash building, big bag of 13 to A-Mac. Massive game next week.
Peninsula are to be kept safe, they will be somewhere in the finish.
Friars, OMs, BT just going, all need to find something extra
NOBs travelling better than anticipated, will know more next week
SMD the next 8 weeks are going to be "character building" to say the least!!

Sticking with the final four of Werribee, Monash, peninsula, NOBs.

Les out.

Well done Willy.

Could they be the darkhorse????

Friars?? you have to be kidding dont you?

TT your lack of ability to sum a situation such as Aquinas v Friars really supports your self proclaimed status as bein a "piss ant supporter"! Seriously if a team were ever going to rally, Saturdays game was going to be the one!!

1. Personal Humiliatation after being beaten by 165 points
2. Rally behind a club legend stepping in after sacking their coach
3. Lake Aquinas - The school really need to look at that as it is an embarrassment for them!
4. The long time rivallry between the clubs as well as the schools!

Well done to Aquinas they deserved the win but emotion only normally lasts for 1 week, lots of water to go under every teams bridges over the next 8 weeks!

Can't possibly predict the ladder but can probably predict TT's response!

Ur kidding arnt u?

Aquinas are a rabble. Well done to them to
bounce back, but u skirts at friar town to have a real hard look at yourselves.

U can put in as many points as u like, but it was ur side that got hammered by a side without a pulse.

That sort of response from yourself confirms one thing that many suspect, that your soft.

Didn't friars have any of their own points to play for????

3. Lake Aquinas - The school really need to look at that as it is an embarrassment for them!

But it was such a wonderful spectacle and provided some brilliant football...

The conditions really did suit an Aquinas team coming off a humilating loss and having a new coach, thats alright, still 8 games left in the season, the next 2 weeks are big ones as both the teams from the West had good wins over Friars on their side of town, be interesting to see how much the Friars have improved and if home ground advantage helps out

Hopefully we see a more consistent performance from the men in white in coming weeks, really is getting frustrating when their interpretations change in the last qtr of a match

Updated Slopdometer - its liking Willy who just need 1 more 'upset' to be right there at the end. Peninsula move in to the four at the expense of Mentone after the big '8 pt win'.

WERRIBEE... 68 185%
MONASH --- 48-- 128%

NOBs ---------44--- 118%
PENINSULA --44 --107%

WILLMSTOWN-- 40-- 105%
OLD MENTON --36 110%
BULLEEN TEMP-- 36- 109%
WHITEFRIARS ---24-- 87%
AQUINAS-------- 16 -- 66%
SOUTH MELB ---- 4 -- 44%

Went down to have a look at wbee vs willi on saturday was great physical contest all day. Sure there will be some sore boys today. It certainly looked a different Wbee side to the last time i saw them. They obviosly have alot of injury concerns as i stated last week but were still very competitive and seem very close as a group even though they were under the pump all day.Was actually great game to watch. Are they just making sure they dont take any risks with injuries cos there ladder psition allows that or is there major injury concern?

Turn it up Einstein what would you know about Aquinas? Your response shows how ignorant of their circumstances and the way the game unfolded, you are! The game was an attrocius slop and could have gone either way, Friars tried very hard, Aquinas just tried a bit harder.

Jack I don't know why you bother talking 2 that clown.Apologies for the ground Saturday the construction site seems to be sending alot more rain water onto the oval due to a plumber going bust, not ideal but out of our hands. For future visiting teams I hope you like playing in the mud.

I lived round the corner for 4 years, watched them beat up on
werribee in d2, knew a member on their playing list from
last season.

Might know more than you think.....

Aquinas will be the first to admit they are struggling. Most sides have smacked them this year...

Your last statement is baffling. You either try your hardest or your in-line
to be called soft. So if friars didn't try as hard as aquinas, then
I was right in calling friars soft....

All credit to aquinas. Don't turn this around on me or anyone else, friars dropped a game they should have penned in. Any faint hope is
now gone. That's final. Yes I didn't think aquinas should
have beaten u, but after the result the week before,
I think it's more of a reflection on friars than aquinas.

Congratulations, u now have a relegation fight on your hands...

Now stop sooking and be done with it.
