D1 - 2010

Hampton Rovers and Oakleigh must have been great sides in 2007 D1, both having solid seasons in "B" Grade, after quick promotions.
Werribee appear better placed than last year, i am a believer that too many games won with too much ease can sometimes (not always) be detrimental in a finals campaign if the opposition have the belief and are up and about. I have loved "C" Grade this year but still take an active interest in D1. Thought the friars would have done better this year Jack!!!!

When you look at the bees line up not much has changed at all. They definately had a more fitness based pre season that has clearly helped with their pace. The plays you don't want gaining more pace would have to be M. Dean and C. Lee. Those two fellas are dangers come the chance for them to chase their opponent and can be difficult to catch when they have the ball.
They also look like they are more focused this year not just as a team but as individuals.
Will be interesting to see which players stick around come next year if they gain a promotion they clearly deserve.

The 'slopdometer' predicted all 5 wins last week (ok - just went for the home sides) but this round looks very interesting indeed.

Monash v OMs and BT v Peninsula are huge obviously.
Fascinated to see if the Friars can do it at home again and push Werribee to the wire.
Willy at Aquinas - the winner has bagging rights.
NOBs v SMD - only interest is %

6-5, lost three games under a goal, won two games after being 5 goals down, very even comp, the difference in the teams to D1 is the strength of their bottom 8-10 players. Some of the reserves teams are unbelievable. It is hard to compare from last year , the players that have come into the team: Gaunt, B Brennan, Grech, Silvester, Gay and T Murphy amongst others have added plenty, but we did lose some quality. Both my boys going Ok, few standard injury problems.

You illiterate git if you're on day release perhaps you will make it to the game! No whingeing from Friars we have not played well this year lets just see what happens tomorrow in a 2 horse race. Werribee clearly red hot favourite and rightfully so, I am looking forward to seeing them play and where they have improved on from last year.

Interesting game off football at Whitefriars today, Whitefriars played and tried hard until the last siren. A lot better game of footy from when we first met this season. Umpires left a bit to be desired by both teams at times. Please do not judge all Werribee players/ supporters by a few fools who go on BF.

Good to see the boys get another win on the road with everyone sharing in the goals. Comments on here previously were saying they are to Azza Taylor focused, but it seems to bring the other forwards into play because he creates the contest when he cannot grab the footy. Fingers crossed they can go all the way this year and earn a spot in C section.

After watching today I would think they will be hard to beat, quality all over the field and a willingness to work for each other! Friars were humbled today.

I was quite impressed with the umpires yesterday, 1 did a very good job, the other was a little over the top in paying too much but a hell of a lot better than most of the umpires we have seen this year

Not much else to say about that game though, bring on Monash
