Big win by tiges. 84 points. Mentone played ok, the result flattered werribee. Game played in good spirits, umpiring was ok. Snow from om's was impressive.

I have also witness all of the above, except for the initial point.

Bocce, NOBS played poorly, they turned the ball over consistently. Credit to Werribee pressure. I don't suspect NOBS will ever beat Werribee in 2010. But if you think that was them at their best you are mistaken and i think (which you will be happy to hear if you think NOBS played well) that you will play off in a Grand Final against them.

SDP what has happened I was at the game yesterday and saw a group of kids take the game away from you in the 1st qtr! Think that you guys are much better then yesterday's showing but lack of foot speed was noted by all at the ground. Not easy from here for NOBS, the season may still have some twists and turns in it!
Werribee easily the best team in the grade but sometimes that doesn't mean you win a flag as it comes down to the day! Werribee v Monash in a good stoush for the GF for mine!

The last 2 weeks for Aquinas, we've gone to look at our 5.30pm text updates from the VAFA and noted that Whitefriars have bloody got up!

Not at the pointy end of the ladder I know, but the Mentone Aquinas game has a fair bit of importance to it this week...

Mr Mihocek, I agree...Bees & Blues GF for mine. Werribee look to have about 30 blokes who could easily slot in for the 2 o'clock show on a Saturday and Monash have 3 senior sides to choose from: depth is so important in our grade.

Fair bit of crap being thrown at Werribee for the 2010 season...why?

Eastern Suburbs toffs, bunch of sooky lalas. Usual eastern suburbs "dumping" on the west.

T.T you say result flattered wbee i viewed game and thort the tiges were just goin through the motions. I think the second Quarter when wbee were challenged by the coach they responded with an 11 goal quarter and just seem to be in cruise control for the second half. But in saying that wbee had 5 changes to there side and it would be hard to fully up every week the seem to be up when they have to but seems a 84 point win is now not acceptible i think we mark them hard.

You mentioned the coachs quarter time address as being quite interesting considering the tiges were up at quarter time. I heard some of it but not all what took place you are referring top.

Referring to being in front and still having a go at the group for not working hard enough. Just goes to show how focussed they are and not accepting mediocraty. I think the coach wants to make certain that they play at 100% regardless of the score and won't tolerate anything less.

I thought the tiges were lucky to be in front at quarter time. Just thier cleanliness going forward was the difference. Kirk had every right to deliver a rocket. Tiges did seem in auto pilot for most of the day

Trev's Take

Main topic of interest: who is the second best team in D1? We will find out over the next 5 weeks!

B/T were the better side against Monash on the day - no argument from me. Kerbachov is a gun (or at least he turns it on against us) Florance pretty handy as well. Bloody big dry ground out there! Monash played like Uni students on a holiday - need to wake up fast with Peninsula, Willy and Werribee to finish. If a miracle occurs and B/T make the FOUR then they would be very handy come the dry weather, good big forwards and large finals venue.

So fascinating to see Monash v Peninsula at the Frearson this week, Willy hosting NOBS (who don't travel that well) and B/T taking on Werribee at Ted Ajani. Then throw in a good old fashioned relegation battle with OMs and Aquinas. Not a bad round looming....

Just one to throw among the pidgeons. To bocce and tt have watched the tiges 6 or 7 times this year and beleive i have seen 25 to 26 very good players . when they have the jets kids come back ie mcllellan, giles shibecci and i thrt the young Dean from the u19s goes o k.plus the regular 22 or 23 . Will any of the above play in there finals campaign. And see a few of the u19s played with the ressies on Sat not sure who they were but they looked quite impressive.

Fair call hbp we will be able to talk more to you after the weekend. Wont be there this week to far but i no the wbee coach rates Bullen so should be a cracker uot your way.

They are our depth if we have injuries. If jet boys available it will come down to team balance on the day.
HBP how can this be crap if we are talking football. Why don't you add something of substance rather than bag our posts. Put up or shut up

bocce, will any of the jets boys come finals be even able to play? they need to play a certain amount of games before they can qualify which i think is 4 or 5 and they havent played that many yet have they?

The young fella in the magoos that kicked 9 on the weekend from the 19's looked alright. depth in the seniors this year has been ok, next year, if they retain most of the 19's, then it will be ultra competitive for spots.

They have all qualified as far as I know. I know Kirk will make certain of it. Will be tough for them to get in if all the seniors are fit.

the minimum games to be played by a jeys payer is 5 and definately havent been released for 5 sr games with the ammos. its not up to kirk if they qualify though, its up to the jets to let them play. there is still 3 games left though
