I am on the wieght loss campaign. Never say never, but it has been 7 years since I last played as an overweight 17 year old!

Would need 3 pre-seasons just to be fit enough to run out a quarter!

An introduction of a thirds side would be very enticing though!
Happy to have you as a supporter
Do you think the powers to be will start to rest some players before finals? and who?

T.T you should get the mail just buy your uncle a couple of beers and he will tell you the ins and outs of a cats bum lol.

May rest a few this week, but I would have thought that they would want to field an almost full strength side in the last round against monash at home.

Its a chance to plant a seed in their minds if werribee beat them off the park. Not saying that is a given, but I would throw the kitchen sink at them.

Taylor would deserve a rest, maybe Cam, Palmo, Spud, Teddy, however most are young whippets that look pretty fresh.

It has been suggested on here and i have heard on the grapevine that reting a few would be a possability ie taylor, murphy, callea, pelar, tedesco and i think thats a chance but not so sure the coach would do that . But then again the tigers whole season has been very structured from pre season onwards and im sure he would no whats goin to happen but i also beleive he will be the only one who does.

Kirk is a competitor, I would be very suprised if a near full strength team didnt run out against monash in a fortnight.

They would be hoping on winning the first final, and therefore everyone getting the week off.

Well maybe I'll be the ******** because you did also fail in 2007 when Werribee was clearly at least the 2nd best side. I haven't be on since a couple of weeks before the season because this forum does seem to be predominantly a slanging match between Werribee, Aquinas and Whitefriars and little else in the way of substance. In my one post for the year I said that Willy had lost 70% of it's winning GF team, but many youngsters had come up from the U18's, in fact 14 have debuted this season at senior level. I also stated that if we could avoid relegation we could be a force in a year or two. While we are now in the 4, we have a much tougher assignment than St. Pats to hold on to that spot, our horrific start meant it was alway going to be hard to play finals.
Willy are trying to model themselves on Werribee, promote local kids and keep them together for a long time. And yes, Werribee will win and win by a long way this time round. Good luck boy, I will lok forward to reading some positive stuff in 2011.

I think its pretty clear that Willy are headed in the right direction.

I wouldnt be surprised if Willy get to a GF if they hold thier spot in the final 4.

Biggest improver in the comp, and will be in C grade if they hold onto thier current crop and top up from another strong junior programme.

Agree with YS and TT. Keeping the young kids at the club is the way to go as every other team in the town tries to steal them. This then builds into a TEAM mentality.
Would be fantastic for a Werribee v Willi GF for the Western Derby, but think Monash and Peninsula would be too strong for Willi this year, but stranger things have happened in Finals.

could depend on how fit and healthy the boys from monash and pirates are, we have been told so many times how injuries to half the side cost the tiges two final losses last year so willy with a the good form could be the roys of last year,

In saying this all they are doing is playing for c section next year as half tihe tiges could show up GF day and still win with a leg in the air.

The Bees really a class above and with no side even close the Volt will be the place to be over the finals series

There is no such thing as a dead set certainty.

If either one of the top 4 have a day out and Werribee have a stinker, then they will be beaten.
Agree the Tiges are not certainty's BUT they are a committed buch of guys that do the team thing and am sure they will do all the right things to play to their best.
If they can escape injuries and field their best side they will be hard to beat. Will be very interesting to see how the last game pans out against Monash. Come on finals

Stranger things have happened in Finals, just like it did to Peninsula in last years D2 GF. Hot favourites to win, then got the yips when it counted the most vs Willy in the GF. Having said that, i cant see that happening to the Tigers this year, they seem a much more strong and determined bunch of blokes.

TT it would be a wise move to rest a few players, the ground is really struggling with the wet weather, all i'll say is its gunna be ugly.

nothing to do with the fact Aquinas need to win the last two to have any chance of staying up?

only thing getting ugly will be the scoreboard at the end of the game.

Have heard that the ground has struggled everytime it
had has some water.

Aquinas have been better lately, they would love to beat the tiges this week so they can get into a certain few on here! Lol

After their shock loss to OMs, Aquinas are gone, they are no hope of staying up now

Your right Eddie, But they havent been getting belted like they were earlier.

They have been competitive, and they have always played pretty well against the tiges on thier home turf. I think Werribee will win, but it wont be a 150 point win like it was a couple of months ago.

Eddie, what has been behind the rivival of Friars? They seem to have been going alright the last couple of weeks also?

Maybe they have told a few of the beautiful people to bugger off and recruited a couple of ugly players into their team. Apparently you place higher on the ladder if you have ugly blokes goin round on the weekend. ;)

Almost a full strength squad this week for the tiges, with a couple of senior players back and another jets boy. gonna be interesting in the selection committee over the next few weeks.

Here cam lee is playing VFL this week is that correct and how many others are to come back into the side. Also doesnt look like Kirky is into the resting of players from what i am told doesnt seem to be resting anyone.Would have thort this week was the opportunity your response T.t or any other Tiger poster.

Cam is playing VFL this week, while giles (back to jets), cory and jimmy got dropped. In was addamo, scudda, stukes and j mac from jets. of the 4 outs cam is a definite inclusion while the other 3 are all vying for spots with the 22 playing this week.

Dont know why you'd want to rest players at this stage. Should have been done a couple of weeks ago. Now is the time we want to have a full squad hitting our straps before the finals, so come semi final time we're rearing to go.

good on cam lee for being selected to make another appearence in the vfl this week. considering kirk didnt want to rest any players because its coming close to finals, its interesting that he's letting lee go off and play elsewhere especially when lee is a walk in start in the 1's.

There is a difference between resting players and letting them go play vfl. If he was rested, there is a possibility of losing touch and form, whereas he is still playing, just somewhere else. So barring the possibility of injury he'll still be fine for monash next week.

Thanks for stating the obvious Eddie.TT when you guys turn up you'll know what I'm talking about, the only thing you guys can get out of this game is injurys, it's not going to be pretty football.

I'm sure the coaching panel will make sure that the players are looked after. There are pretty ordinary surfaces around..... Hate to be in d2 playing at emmaus!
