Good win by the districts today, Aquinas were very hard at the ball especially early when it mattered they are def one of the toughest sides i have seen, they will really trouble some of the top sides in D2 next year.

I will be wearing No 17 for the districts this year so you can look my name up in the record, didnt play yesterday but noticed you had a few blokes who wanted to snipe and didnt want the hard ballpretty sure we are both 1 and 3 after today?? Always room for a player of your quality Vet. Not sure if we agree on the meaning of the word fit though. Get to training
Big improvers my boys on Saturday, we should of had the win. Got the feeling Aquinas just wanted it a bit more in the last 10 minutes. But a massive improvement on last week.
I managed to photocopy Scribes game plan for next week when he wasn't looking and as we're starting to find some form we'll be right to reverse the result from our practice match.
Big day at the BSO this week, even heard Hutchy and Dr Turf talking this game up on the radio.
That close result -v- Aquinas couldn't have come at a better time Harps.
Easy for me to rally the boys into action again when I point out the side which ran us to 4 goals were almost knocked off by your lads.
No-one will be taking things lightly at BSO this weekend - should be a cracker in both games.
FWIW - Will be a massive day for all concerned, and we understand SMD have already got 4 to 5 tables for the Presidents luncheon. Might outnumber the Fitzroy crew at this rate. Maureen had Dr Turf pumping it up Saturday morning on SEN. With Club XVIII playing at 9.20 am against Uni Blacks (pity any poor bloke I have to drop from Saturday's team), there will be no dew on the BSO by the time the SMD boys hit the park.
All roads lead to BSO this weekend.
PS - whilst plan A has netted 4 wins thus far, we do have a plan B, and it might have to be used if we're looking down the barrel at halftime!!!
Hmmm....was very surprised to see that result in the paper on Sunday morning (at least the size of the defeat). OTs have a tendency to get blown away when they're down, but have managed to conjure some gutsy wins when the pressure is on all day. They're 2-2 at the moment, so no need for panic just yet.
Coaching the Reds dew-kickers isn't rocket science this year. Whilst we've only got about 8-10 regulars from 2007 playing again, we've attracted a similar standard of player as those who took us to 5th in C with an 11-7 record. On track for a better win/loss than that this season, but it has very little to do with the coaching I assure you.
Our clubbies are battling, but there's still enough talent in that side to fill gaps when the inevitable Friday night phone call comes in for a late replacement.
Interestingly, 5 of the top 6 sides in D1 reserve have a Club XVIII side (though I understand a couple of them try to operate as stand alone units). If/when injuries start to bite, those 5 teams will be thankful that there's another side running around capable of giving them match-ready players, and placing pressure on the incumbents.
Milkman I don't miss you up in C Grade and your inane post's,I saw you bowled well in South A, maybe you should test yourself in Senior Division at David St....

Milkman is a shocking bowler. Most of his wickets came from blokes trying to hit over fence for 6.
Panther_Man, you pathetic excuse for a human being. As soon as Mentone win a game against a bunch of shite you come out of the closet. Go back to the bush . as for Ian Cave...i heard there was a dubious free kick given in front of goal in a reserves game with about 2 micro seconds left on the hooter ...did you and your relo have anything to do with that...mmmm...spaceships.
WIPIT YOU ARE A LIVING LEGEND.
milk man look back over the thread u will see i have posted many times.. i think you should be worrying about how u little frame will go this week against the big BT boys...
Looking forward 2 watching u high flier get the hard ball when u come to play at Aquinas where the grounds a lot smaller and theres a lot more contested footy.I will be wearing No 17 for the districts this year so you can look my name up in the record, didnt play yesterday but noticed you had a few blokes who wanted to snipe and didnt want the hard ball

Suggest you guys quit this 'hard ball' banter. Aquinas and SMD are both 1 and 3. Respected members from these clubs will realise that there is a long way to go in the 2008 season and being competitive in this grade will depend upon alot more than an old D2 rivalry.
Harps,
Guess the VAFA should've scheduled your game -v- Aquinas for this week instead of last week. Looks like there isn't a more bitter rivalry in this section than the Blood Bank Challenge.
Good to see you're already looking ahead to 28/6, just treat this week against Fitzroy as a lazy tune up OK?
