Just because this thread is super fun
Will st johns lose a game and who will/can beat them?
Will SMD win a game and who can/will it be against

Yes. IMO Ivanhoe is the best team in the Division. I reckon the Blues might just go all the way also.
Big call on the blues, you think so?
they lost to both st johns and parade, but have won 4 on the trot, seem like a hard side to read into

I agree with bigwaz on this one. The Blues look the goods when they are playing well, a lot of good young players with quick legs from what I've seen from them. Ivanhoe and obviously the undefeated St.Johns are still out in front of the rest though IMO

Tight ones for the Jocs:
I feel they have played the best footy thus far and deserve flag fav and top spot at this point in time.

Eltham at home V Jocs - maybe
Ivanhoe V Joc's - close I would imagine both times, but they have had the wood on us in recent games played between the clubs.
NB at home v Jocs - NB are getting it together and play their home ground very well. Were very undermanned last time they played the Jocs.
Snakes starting to get it together and have a V good reserves team (depth) - could trouble the Joc's, but played in Doveton makes it more challenging.

The only thing that is a slight worry for the Jocs is the form of the twos - it means that they will need their best team to stay healthy as the twos look to drop away a bit and could leave them a bit exposed during the home and away rounds.

Like the look of the Blues and Snakes recently and will be there when the whips are cracking, OP's keep getting enough of it done, Eltham great return to form last week and MHSOB are going to win their fair share of games and have a very good twos team for depth.

7 into 4 .....does not work!

Not on top of the ladder so not flag favorites, but would love my hoers to raise the cup.

The comp will even out the further the season goes on IMO

Ivanhoe flag favourites for mine.

It's the Aussie way to claim underdog status in an attempt to release the pressure valve, but let's be honest, the flag is theirs to lose.

If we could rightfully claim favorite status right now - I would gladly do so - as it makes absolutely no difference at all to game day result - IMO. So, if we beat OP's, Joc's and Wicks and are sitting on top at the mid-way point .......we are Fav's - no problem at all.

Suggesting others as 'flag to loose' is usually another Aussie way to shift attention from ones own aspirations and push that 'pressure' to another.
Nice Job LBRS .....I see what you did there! cheeky. ;)

Go Hoes

4/5 last week 20/25 total
This week :
Eltham to bounce back over Monash
Elsternwick by a few over Souths who'll be desperate for their first win
Ivanhoe too strong for MHSOB
St. John's in a tight game over parade who will look to shut down the Jocs high scoring game plan
The Blues in a thriller at home over Richmond in probably the match of the round
5/5 last week 25/30 total. Bit easier to tip last week. This week :
Eltham over St. John's in the match of the round
The Blues too good for the gryphons, 10 goals
Richmond over Elsternwick by 6 goals
Ivanhoe in a tight one against Parade in the other match of the round
Souths desperate for a win but can't see it happening this week, the unicorns by 5 goals

Another week with an 80% strike rate that equates to an overall rate of 87%.

Monash Gryphons vs Northern Blues
Old Eltham
vs St Johns
Old Paradians vs Ivanhoe
Richmond vs Elsternwick
South Melbourne vs MHSOB

Seniors:
Monash Gryphons vs Northern Blues - 22 points the margin for NB who are playing well after a tough draw started their year
Old Eltham
vs St Johns - 3 point win for the Turtles on their home ground that they play really well and a good test for the Jocs. If the Joc's perform well here then they will hang onto their flag fav status! LOL
Old Paradians vs Ivanhoe - 13 points in a tough one as can't recall the last time we won there.
Richmond vs Elsternwick - snakes too good and starting to get a nice roll happening - 43 points
South Melbourne vs MHSOB - Unicorns we ok last week against us and expect them to win by 8 goals+

Reserves:
Monash Gryphons vs Northern Blues - to win by 30 points
Old Eltham vs St Johns - flip of the coin - Joc's by 4 points.
Old Paradians vs Ivanhoe - to keep winning form happening with a 35 point win over OP's
Richmond vs Elsternwick - snakes by ALOT ...........and then some.
South Melbourne vs MHSOB - see above Richmond V Wicks prediction ..................and then some more.

Good luck all

Chump.

The Snakes have lost back to back games Chump... Some roll they're on!
I didn't see either of these games, they were leading both early in the 4th quarter.... Seems they ran out of puff both times?

Blow out for NB game - fair enough.
Within a goal of the Jocs - looks a reasonable result against the ladder leader.
I don't think they are far off the pace of the current top teams...........but, I don't see them play each week.

Good luck this weekend.

Monash Gryphons vs Northern Blues - Gryphons are no good Blues by plenty 10 goals
Old Eltham
vs St Johns - Eltham at home just goal or less
Old Paradians vs Ivanhoe - Ivanhoe again close goal or less
Richmond vs Elsternwick - RC by 10 plus against Wicks (see comment re Gryphons)
South Melbourne vs MHSOB - Sth will not win a game for the year 10 goals plus

Another round where all the favourites won, and fairly comfortably as well.

Such a huge gap in this division between the top sides and the bottom.

It's a long season, but the current top 3 look to be a cut above the rest.

Eltham were a bit disappointing at home. They also got smashed in the reserves. Eltham at Richmond should be a cracker next Saturday.
