Good side Sloth, M.Boland has had a great year for us and has gone from a maybe player at the start of the year to the first picked in the side by the end of the yr.. What about A.Williams who made the seniors side of the year? He played enough games to qualify for the twos finals could he get an appearance in both sides??

Harps you would know the twos better than any1 you want to try and make a side?
I know it's a tough job, but you couldn't find room for more than 3 players that represented the side that has lost only one game all year?? And coach of the year - surely supercoach Diker has to get a look in? His PROCESS has worked wonders so far.

OMB - The reason I made the choice of the Aquinas coach above Diker is that I found the Werribee tactics (processes) could be unravelled with a bit of preparation :D. Also I believe that Diker has been fortunate to inherit a very good list from Stewie and a lot of the playing group who have played a lot of junior footy together. While Lynchy has some players from the 19's but he has moulded a side by his and the match commitees hardwork. Which I believed should be appuladed in a public forum which is BigFooty.

In regards to the other comments about the SMD's players. I thought that Chubba played OK on the weekend but he wouldn't have been in my top 3 or 4. But in the two games I saw earlier in the year he had the ball on a string. In Saturdays game I thought Lane was good in the second half especially. Reimann was servicable but nothing sensational.

I just try and call it as I see it !

Amazing what floats across you're desk sometimes. Some food for thought on tonights D2 B&F count.

These are the invited players with some odds from Smooth Jimmy

$2.50 - Cheevers, Paul (SOUTH MELBOURNE DISTRICTS)
$3.25 - Robertson, James (BENTLEIGH)
$4.75 - Toomey, Leigh (AQUINAS)
$5.50 - Baranello, Nathan (EMMAUS ST LEOS)
$12 - Lee, Cameron (WERRIBEE)
$21 - Taylor, Craig (WILLIAMSTOWN CYMS)
$21 - BRADDY, NATHAN (BANYULE)
$31 - Arnold, Kane (ST JOHNS)
$41 - Diamond, Scott (GLEN EIRA)
$51 - Campbell, Andrew (SALESIAN)

I believe I've already got $20 on C Lee at much better odds from Jono earlier in the year so I'll whack $50 on Cheevo so I can give him a decent ribbing while I enjoy the crownies he can't touch tonight due to grand final commitments.

Lovely market Harps! Think you'll find it's Paul Baranello invited though, played in the middle all year. I'm having $100 on Robertson, and then I'll have another $100 on the Robertson - Cheevers quinella.

Well said Bloods22 :thumbsu: in regards to the 2's game. D.Boland turned it on in the first half and ensured that your boys from Ringwood were going to have two sides in the GF. Congratulations to Mick and the rest of your boys. Will there be any chance for any promotion into the ones for any of the boys ?

Harps like I said on Saturday you guys just lacked a bit of leg speed on the wings and flanks to compete to the Bloods. At least you guys fought out the game as you could easily have chucked it in after being down by 10 goals at half time. You will look back in a couple of weeks and think back and come to the realisation that you guys did pretty well for the whole season.

Werribee and Aquinas have been the best two 2's sides this year and are rightfully playing off in the big dance. It will be a battle to see if Aquinas can get enough ball to Boland, Visser and Ragozzini (If not playing in the 1's) to kick a winning score. On the Werribee side of things Daly could hold the key to success for the Tigers. He knows how to present and will always provide a contest within the arc. But don't underestimate the half backs and wingers from Werribee.

Can anyone from Werribee tell us if any of the boys who played in the 1's on Saturday are eligable for the 2's GF this week ? As this could make a massive difference in the end result

As the senior group has named the team of the year I believe it is necessary for the dew kickers to have one too ! This is my opinion (I know it doesn't count for much :p) I had get a couple of my boys in :D . Also I wanted to get a balanced selection from all ten teams

Backs - Wilson (St.J) M.Boland (Aq) P.Hannan (SMD)
Half Backs - Cavarra (Willi) Nannes (Sal) Holmes (St.J)
Centre - Emery (St.J) Dawe (SMD) Palmer (W)
Half Forward - D.Boland (Aq) Visser (Aq) Zwar (GE)
Forward - Daly (W) Dowsey (Willi) Marinas (W)
Rucks - Macgee (SMD) Oldham (Willi) Wanke (Ban)
I/C - Kinghorn (Aq) Richards (Ben) Little (ESL) Haines (GE)
Coach - Mick Lynch (Aq)

Gee, Daly would seem a little lucky to make this squad - 6 Goals in 5 games for the year in the 2's? Any thoughts Champ Kind?? Maybe J. Temuskos could have squeezed into the pocket as a goal sneak instead? Yaga would agree with that!

From tonights Awards night congratulations to James Robertson on the D2 Best and Fairest!
Fantasic effort Robbo, you are a freak (perhaps the new freak with Dave Martin retired). In 2006 Robbo was runner up in D3 despite only playing 10 games & then to win D2 in a side that only won 6 games highlights what an awesome effort it is

OMB - If Daly stands up for you on Saturday it will make your job a fair bit easier trust me ... I am just trying to use a bit of foresight. :thumbsu:

Secondly to only have a couple of complaints about the line up must mean I do know something  ... Or all the Aquinas and Werribee players in the 2's and the SMD and Aquinas players in the 1's are focusing on Saturday at Parkdale. Which what I would be doing in the same situation.

Very suprised that Robbo won playing in a bottom side but congrats to him. Does anyone know where we can get a hold of a full list of vote getters? HOw did Cheevo go Harps?

I think it was Robbo 1st on 24 votes & Cheevers 2nd on 21 votes

Correct weight McAdam, I don't think either polled in the last 2 rounds. Aquilina (4th) got the 3 votes in round 18 against Aquinas, I didn't really see who else polled.

Bad Luck Chev:thumbsu:

We did have the D1 winner Snowie on our table, expect a visit from Elliot Costello next year young man!

You were close Stooge  ... but you played too many games at 2:00pm to be considered for the side. Reid was close but I chose a side that was attacking and would kick a winning score as opposed to holding the opposition to a losing one !

Congratulations to Cam Lee coming in 3rd in bnf last night.
Harps how did you enjoy the night? The grog was great. S. Madden not happy with St. Bernards being relegated as he kept telling me all night.

I did enjoy the night although it did take me a while to get to work Westie, good to catch up with yourself amongst others including the great Jono Healy. Well done to Robbo, Cheevo, Cam and Aqua but no return on my investment.

Season: Harper = $864.95 Jono = $455.50
Looking forward to your GF odds Jono

Yeah just got in myself. Got onto the red and still feeling the after effects. Looking forward to Saturday. Should be a good game in the 2's and I reckon a lot closer in the 1's than last time.

west on the red, that would have been interesting, don't believe i've had the pleasure of seeing west have a drink before........

he got a bit loose gifted and was trying to get a job with Mr. Madden.

My view of the situation was that Westie hit the plonk 'cos Mr Madden was heading to Werribee on poaching mission in attempt to get back into A grade. Seems there is going to be a massive surplus of players at soldier's over the next few years, or maybe that was a bit of the wine talking;)

Saints, heard you copped a bit of a spray on the weekend for not being completely team orientated. Any changes this week with team selection and your person approach to the game?

Word gets around quick. You must be on the inner sanctum of SMD or been near our bench. Yes i did cop a talking to. Wont go into to much on this froum. I think anyone who has played with me knows i always put the team first. There will be changes this week, how many who knows, i may be one of those. Coach was none to impressed with me on saturday.

Totally agree OMB. That 1/2 a posession he had against willy earlier on in the year should surely mean something:D. Nedinis and Mcguiness were unluck not to be in the team of the year

Hey harps who's your money on for the earlier game this week? Also can you give some odds for the marinis 1st goal/ werribee under 39 1/2 points double

I reckon I'll go for a Werribee / South Melbourne quinella yaga. A first goal market could be fun, I'll wait to see what Jono quotes on Thursday and take it from there. The Marinis/Werribee double you speak of would depend on Travis Ryan qualifying for the GF, has he played 4 games in the magoos?
