Beddoe made a lot of promises at the start of the year that he couldn't keep. Apparently he had just been given a package from a previous employer and said that he was going to devote a great deal of time to the role now he didn't need to work. He was going to video each game, review key parts and have a lot more one on one interaction and personalised coaching with the players. This didn't eventuate. A lot of the players, particularly the younger ones, didn't like his coaching style and they let this be known.

Werribee are now trying to get this year's WRFL U/18 coach Kirk Norton to step up and coach the senior team. However Kirk is an empire builder and he was looking to carry on the swag of flags his junior teams had won in the earlier junior grades to the VAFA U/19's in 2007.
 
Not a biased point of view but i think Aquinas will be there abouts again next year. All senior players have committed to Glassborrow for next year, no retirements and a couple of key players back from overseas. Also their under 19s making finals this year and with the likes of Cross (20 yr old who played three games of seniors this season, got three votes from umps), Stewart who played a couple of games and kicked a few goals at full foward and also Maaskant who played a few games, made the under 19s vic squad that travelled to Brisbane and also made the under 19s all australian, the future looks good at Aquinas. But in saying that who knows what could come from the promoted and relegated sides. Should be a competitive league though, thats for sure!!
 
Don't forget to name yourself in that senior team Bloods22! There are also a few other players who will form some pressure on the senior players like Kenner if he plays, Colgrave if he stays, R. O'Brien once he adds a few more games under the senior belt, Demunk played solid senior games and Naulty if he plays seniors instead of 19s and follows his mates. Depth will be great. I know its early but with a few words of mouth, signs are looking good for the Bloods and I reckon the numbers on the track will boost this pre-season with some usual added recruits.

He didn't leave Ivanhoe, he wasn't asked to re apply. Coach kicked a lot of goals, however, wasn't the best trainer going around. Hard to lead by example when the coach isn't doing the same.

I know Eltham approached him, however, know that his old club Panton Hill are trying to get him back.

has plenty of ability, should kick at least 4 a game, then again, if he gets remotely fit that figure should go up quite a bit. i doubt you would see him leave the goal square though..

How wouldn't that be leaving If I went to another club?

Also how would you know that Eltham approached me and If Panton Hill were trying to get me back? I think you've been spreading some chinese whispers Oldtimer. All will be reavelled shortly!
Mark Harvey seems to know everything maybe he can coach Ivanhoe next season, but he didn't do a very good job 2's apparently a few years back and he's bagging me???

Coach, it is fact that you were not asked to re apply. It is fact that Ivanhoe closed it's applications for the coaching role yesterday. It is fact that Doni Valkanis (ex player and former coach) has applied.

Craig Huggins informed me that they are interested in getting you back to Panton Hill. You are only leaving because Ivanhoe didn't re appoint you. FACT!!

How can this be chinese whispers when so far they are all facts. Did Ivanhoe ask you to stay on in an assistant's role?

Oldtimer, I wasn't having a go at you or at Doni Valkanis, what I was questioning was how you would know these so called "facts" that involve myself? Surely the only person that would know the "facts" involving me, would be me??

Obviously you know some details about me, but as you are incorrect and your FACTS are wrong, I was calling them chinese whispers (which is what they are).Let me clear them up for you.

Yes, Ivanhoe did offer me a assistant role and to stay on and play but I personally want to continue coaching as this season was my year and although It wasn't the best start I believe I can learn from this season and improve from it.

As your comment above states, Eltham did not approach me and I have not spoken to Panton Hill at all in regards to going back there, but as you stated above in your other response that you had spoken to Craig Huggins about them wanting me back, then you may be correct this could be fact? but I haven't heard this myself??

whack...cop that coach, i think you've got bigger problems then me all of a sudden, the old timers all over you. I thought my performace coaching the twos was ok, as you know, ladder postion isn't everything!!!!!!!

No Matty & I will be sharing the role. It's very difficult to be a playing coach, so why not have 2 playing coaches? We both feel that should work better.

Word is south melbourne have faired very well so far in the recruiting dont have names but thats what i hear. Also heard that massis junior may join his brother at glen eira with possibly couple of colts boys

Have a mate who is in the know down at colts champ. As for beddoe not to sure what he is up to i do know that his sacking could be the reason a few blokes leave. Not to sure about Daly, thought he may have played afew more games in the ones this year when he is right he can play.
