We're away this week but our ground is holding up very well for future clashes
Have not been to the Bentleigh ground for a few weeks but is usally a very good ground and would expect it to be in reaonable nick.
Is Salesian back at their home ground yet or are they still playing at Southern Oval?
They have had a tough year at Salesian
They are not allowed to play at either ground now - they are away this week but there will be an announcement about this next week for sure
In better news Singh is back there - I think someone mentioned they had a gun/good player back and that would be him Id say
Very choppy and slippery mate... if wet will be more like an ice skating ring!
Who are the big ins for you boys, do they out weigh the outs or just about even??

Top night at SMD selection, still no espresso though? Last years Captain moved well again on the track last on is a huge chance to get his first game time for 2007.
The middle of Bentleigh's ground is super slick with that sticky turf mud that clogs up your stops making them useless.

If the rest of the ground is in good nick then Bentleigh should be proud of their oval. Not even the home of amateur football has escaped the sticky mud in the centre square! It was like playing footy with ankle weights on.
After my excellent win on the punt last week I've got my confidence back and am ready to risk another $50 on a 5 leg multi.
As usual I'll take Jono's odds from this weeks AF,
Aqu @ $1.28 Agree with Jono, will prove too strong at home for the Jocs
ESL @ $1.40 Animals have their season well and truly back on track and should smash the under gunned Demons. (Sharp kicked 5 last week according to the AF, wasn't he suspended?)
GE @ $2.20 nothing more than a gut feeling that GE will handle the wet track better. Will be close
SMD @ $1.18 Starting to find some fairdinkum form and just don't lose at home.
WER @ $2.10 Long road trip but proved last week they a putting together some good away form.
All adds up to $50 @ $9.76

I dont think thats how the odds work harper, you dont just add them all up, sounds funny though...
It's kind of like saying you have 10 afl teams playing the 10 D2 Amatuer teams and the afl teams are at like $1.01 to win... using your theory, if you do all the ten games your odds would be at $10.10 which i can a sure you, NO bookie would ever give you!
As, for sharp, i didnt see his named mentioned for 5 goals but may have over looked... i definately know he is still out for another couple though!
I am under the impression that multi leg bets work like this, take all the odds for all legs and multiply them together.
eg 1.28 x 1.40 x 2.20 x 1.18 x 2.10 = 9.76
I'm 99% sure this is correct

Don't know how our ground at Bentleigh will hold up after this week. We've got a triple header....with the Under19s at 9.20, Reserves at 11.40, and Seniors at 2pm...
But yeah....it is looking pretty good at the moment.

Cheers youngblood, I was wondering what was going on with Visser, had me thinking, how could I miss a bloke kicking 10 against us.
As for LFK's scenario with the 10 AFL teams vs 10 D2 teams the 10 leg multi odds if you picked all 10 AFL clubs would = $1.10. This would depend on who would play Richmond.

I know Drifter posted something about Singh, I was having a chat with him this week and because of my ties with Croydon still, he remains there because of contract agreements. He told me that he was getting mistreated and has been sick, quite the contrary to what a few Croydon players said! They said because he didn't make the 1s he told them he was not available to play until 1pm, enough time to get ready for the 1s, but not the 2s. And the pure reason that he isn't playing 1s is that the coach didn't think he was good enough. They weren't happy with a few tales being told about his VFL experience in the interview process either!
Best of luck to him though, great guy and very handy for Salesian.

will luke nieme be a walk up start for the 1s down at south melb disc or will he have to work his way up through the 2s? when he get back from over seas?
Luke is a quality player and while I'd love to have him in my 2's line up I'd say he's a walk up start for the 1's, could depend on how many pints he downs on his Euro fling.

Well a tough slog in the mud down at Bentleigh on Saturday
For 3 quarters it was absolutely in the balance
Dont know if Bentleigh's current Undies captain has played much 1's this year but he is a gun player.
Im confused by some of the records in D2 because Bentleigh, Salesian and Glen Eira have all run us very close and in Salesian's case beat us.
Certainly the rain and mud will even up every contest somewhat as well.
Expect Salesian to improve having signed a bunch of Parkmore players last week after Parkmore folded. Salesian started too slowly on Saturday allowing SMD to get a 8 goal lead at quarter time then outscored us 8 goals to 6 over the follow 3 terms. To be fair though South missed some easy goals in the last quarter which should have made the margin more.
A big cheers to all the Salesian boys who stayed for a drink after the game, it was great to see so many numbers and a bit embarrassing that as the home team we were out numbered at our after match.
