Everyone has a bad day every now and then, even the great ones!

Bit quiet on the thread this week!

Another huge round in D2

Sth Melbourne v St Leo's
2 weeks ago, would have said this was match of the round. Unfortunately, after last weeks performance by St Leo's, maybe not. Hopefully we can turn it around, but will take one huge effort. Cheevers need to be stopped, and if he is there are countless other SMD players to pick up the slack. Positive for St Leo's is not heaps of injuries. Will last week be just an abberation? Who knows, and I aren't even going to pick a winner - go the draw!

Aquinas v Glen Eira
Saw Aquinas first hand last week, and they are the most impressive team in this comp by so far, everyone else is playing for second. Den Braber, Whitehead, Hunter, Box, Tibb, Glassborow, the names just keep going. Write your own ticket on Glen Eira getting up here, Aquinas by plenty

Bentleigh v Werribee
Bentleigh will have a bit of confidence, and their form of late isnt terrible. Werribee just keep marching on, and apparently shouldn't lose another game for the rest of the year. Sharp back, can Bentleigh contain Lee? I'm going with Werribee by a kick.

Williamstown CYMS v Banyule
Could this be Banyules last chance to break into the four? All isn't well in the Banyule camp by all accounts, with a number of departures of late. Will Williamstown turn around their form? I'm saying yes, and on the wide expanses of Crofts, will win and win well.

Salesian v St Johns
Salesian have had some terrific wins of late, and Salesian just keep doing what they need to do to avoid relegation. No rhyme or reason, but St Johns aren't the same team when travelling away. Salesian will win this for mine, by 5 goals.

Finally, to keep Harps happy - in the 2's SMD, Werribee, Aquinas, Williamstown and St Johns.

All the best for the weekend, and here's hoping for an Animals victory!

Thanks Kibe, some good picks there (reserves), I'll study the 1's form overnight and place my bets tomorrow.

ive heard some big ins for glen eira this week, dont write them off just yet...

Sorry Stooge - just for this week you are in trouble

Aquinas with the same focus as last week will win by over 15 goals

Way way too good for us last week - they have never reached full strength either this year as Toomey, Cross missed last week

Good luck though and I am aware you beat them last time

Drifter,

Do you know if forer is doing all the right things in preparation for his return??? Eating right, looking after his body, etc.

Heard he is gonna be a massive inclusion, although he has prob had more retirements and then comebacks than rocky balboa!!!

Well mah mah mah I can certainly say that Micky Forer is looking the goods for a return soon.

He couldnt handle his drink at CQ 2 weeks back and has now committed himself to a return to football - albeit a fair level below what he's used to

You would prob be able to push Mallett to CHB, Ash Ross takes CHF and isolate for Forer in the forward 50

Watch out for Salesian in the run home.........

cheers Drifter, i reckon you could almost drink for free next time you come to Aquinas after all the lavish praise! you'd better stop or people will think you're just a confused Werribee supporter...

Who are the players that teams should keep a close eye on from Werribee bocce... any real standouts?

no real standouts. 22 guys doing a job each week. not same ones being best each week. if a couple a guys down a few others pick up slack. may seem corny but chekc out who's in best each week and it will tell story. watch out for 2's after this week. best 22 not being picked to date but will be from next week

fair enough!

Free beer at Aquinas - lock me in Young Blood!!!!

...cr@p. here's hoping you're driving that week!

tiny bit disappointed on saturday at Leos, as we stayed to the death but there was no mention of the 2s! it hurt. that said, big Leo's club function on that night made it entirely excuseable. how did the fund raising go?

Jono!

Couple of games too close to call this week but after special consideration (and some generous odds) I'll have a crack anyway.

I'll take a 5 leg multi again this week to really up the value.

Aquinas @ $1.08 The other Bloods are looking awesome and no one will get near them out at Ringers. Sorry to say RFS but GE, prepare to be smashed.

Werribee @ $1.50 Good price here Jono, I for one believe the hype coming out of soldiers reserve and even though Sharp is back and The Demons are at home Werribee will prove they are a flag threat and win comfortably.
Match Note: Look for C Sharp to be wearing a specially developed mouthguard that turns umpire abuse into umpire encouragement even if he does have no teeth.

Williamstown @ $2.05 Both teams would like to forget last week and while it'll be tight I think Willy with "The Cougar" to be a dominant force around the ball will prove too strong for the Bears who are rumoured to be suffering player departures.

Salesian @ $1.75 Could go either way but I'll pick Salesian as the Parkmore players are probably starting to feel a bit more comfy in their new colours and in turn will add strength and mongrel to a side on its way up after a horrible beginning to 2007.

South Melbourne @ $1.40 Don't lose at home.

$50 @ $8.13 thanks Jono.

Good luck to everyone, looking forward to hearing some true and some tall stories next week as the D2 thread returns to some form!

Fund raiser went well with the club getting right behind Micky.

No doubt Young blood the 2's spirit shown by other clubs - yourself, Willy being the notables have been noticed by our club.

It would be great to have 25 ressies watching the 1's each week but we are not getting that much this year - something we want to happen going forward though!

Also we were all a bit depressed after the hiding - the beer didnt go down as well
