You must be close to the inner sactum of the districts you know a whole hell of a lot about them. Any chance of revealing your identity.

Its still monday so noone has been ruled out yet, but yes there are a couple with clouds over there heads. But there should be at least one big in this week with our second leading goal kicker of last year playing his first game for the year.

It's not that hard to pick up when a bloke limps off and does not come back on and Jess gets his head caved in.

Lets get a couple of things right:

1. I am not close to anyones sac bar my own and 2 who is this goal kicker?

St. Leo's - very average on the weekend. Played good footy for only about a quarter - certainly some average signs there. Aquinas for mine look the team to beat. Quick, use it well, great depth. Good, young playing list.

Tim stayed off for iceing and was walking freely after the beers, oops I mean game.

Jess came back on the ground after we re-attached his head to his body. (super effort)

Wouldn't expect either to miss.

Not to sure about that comment Kibe, It was good for Aquinas to get the win with quite a few players out and only a couple on the bench after the first quarter, but Leos showed a lot of fight in the second half and got back within a kick a few times.. And i heard that leos had a few players out too so i think Leos will be very competitive this year and will probably sit nicely in the 4 come seasons end!

Hey guys

New to this thread so I wont give any cheek yet.

Was at the Aquinas Leos game - from what I have been told Den Braber and Tibb are the two guns at Aqu. Den Braber didnt play and Tibb got hurt early (or he didnt play the 2nd half anyhow)

For them to beat Leos without those 2 would have to give them a heap of confidence for the season ahead.

Dont know if anyone else was missing from either team.

SMD is a big test for Leos this week - tough one to call

Cheers

First of all, kudos must be given to D2 scribe Jono Healy on some fine tipping on the week end.

Jono tipped C. Sharp (Bentleigh) to kick 8 and shooter didn't let him or the punters down.
Jono tipped Werribee by a point. Bingo, Bongo, Bango, right again.
Jono tipped Aquinas by 12 points, margin 15, close enough!
Jono tipped SMD to win (can't remember the margin he tipped). Correct.
Jono tipped Banyule to win (can't remember the margin he tipped). Right again.

Thanks also must go to Jono for his very generous odds as I have taken some coin from him again.

Totals this week = Harper - $243.25 Jono Healy - $25

Season = Harper - $398.25 Jono Healy - $25

For the record I tipped 5/5 in the reserves.

well done to all the winners on Saturday and I look forward to Jono's article this week.

Harpes - Surely you dont include the stake in season total. If you have $50 at $2.00 you dont win $100 you win $50 and collect $100.

On your logic, Jonos totals would need to increase by the amount of which you wager with him - to make it all fair and even

You're right Krusty, I'm glad you picked that up before the BF stewards dragged me over the coals.

Amended season totals showing winnings only:

Harper: $213.25 Jono: $25

Sorry espresso, i was going to throw some mula your way until Krusty's reality check.

Watching the Sth Melb Districs play down at Albert Park, there was a new inclusion to the 2nds, a big fella wearing no. 5, dominated in the back line all day and probly won the game for them, any idea where Sth Melb keep getting these ring in guns from???

If you dontr know who the goal kicker is you must not know alot about the club. Read previous posts and you should relise who the player is.

As for the injuries on the weekend, Jess will be fine, he came on after the hit and kept playing.
Tim will probably miss one at the most, big chance to play though.
Kealy will be touch and go with his hamstring, depends how he trains thursday. likely to miss one.
Thats all the injuries with a couple back this week.

I didn't no there was a problem with your hammy luke. Believe me Luke I would no more about SMD than you would, your only there star player who is on a need to basis.

Thevet needs to show that he isnt sharing the identity of 'saint' cos at the moment it looks like that one person is having a conversation with himself.

Is there any hints about yourself you can drop thevet. were you on the sidelines like i was on saturday at lindsay hasset oval? were you playing?

I have some big news regarding smd. whatch this space.

imkindofabigdeal, my housemate....i can assure you i am not the vet. Maybe he could let on who he is and you would relise this.

As far as my injury goes you would not have noticed me leaving cause i was having no influence on the game, fingers crossed the hammy pulls up well after the trainer has done her magic.

What type of MAGIC are you after.

As a observer of the game, I think Aquinas is the team that should be questioned about playing a full game. They let the Leos in during the 3rd and the game became very exciting. The reason behind this is no bench, because of injuries during the game.
The depth of Aquinas is amazing, without Tibb, Selby, Hunter and DenBraber, all the players lifted and put together a good win. In terms of the play, Aquinas controlled it all round the ground and with the talls that play small, they were very direct and ran and created options all over the ground. St Leos centre clearances were fantastic, constantly winning the ball in the third and finding options.
Watch out for Colgrave for Aquinas, he tears them apart! Hands of Hall, speed of Davey! The young Beluszar for St Leos is also one to watch. Isn't it great to see so much youth in D2!

I reckon this week is a big test for SMD not the other way round. Last years D1 side playing last years D3 side. It'll be interesting to see who's the real deal.

Fair call - It will be interesting to see how Leo's go after last week's loss. Just read so much about SMD on this forum that thought they were the team to beat....

Heard Ballard is in some doubt at Leo's - he didnt play Rd 1, played well last week and is struggling again - may be touch and go for this one

Wouldn't have thought that just because blokes are talking about a certain footy team on this forum that would make that team competition favorites.

If that were the case Richmond would be flag favorites in the AFL considering the talk on that forum since Sunday.

Plenty of space for other teams to post, gone quiet out at Werribee, haven't heard a single thing from Banyule or Willy. Where are you blokes?

the old cliche down at tigerland taking it one week at a time.... no need to talk ourselves up on here.

big gusty win for both the twos and the ones with the twos barely finishing the game with 18 fit men and the ones in the same boat in there game.
