Fish is a great midfield tagger. He was given the job against Glen Eira, and completely shut the guy out of the game.
With Cunningham being moved to FF, we would've put our usual HBF on him....but for the fact he was injured, and didn't play.
We were so knocked back with injuries, that anyone would struggle to keep a tagging role while having atleast 3 midfielders streaming down into the forward line to assist, and no teammates around.
Most of Cunningham's goals were from
a) Fish running off to attack a free Werribee player with the ball
b) a free kick that is paid 50% of the time, and not the other 50% (i.e chopping the arms)
c) pin point passes from teammates that noone, not even the best taggers out there could stop...

How about the 2 defenders playng on Chris Sharp....they were BOTH playing a tagging role, and had 7 kicked on them....clearly Fish didn't do the worst job of the day....

stop making excuses for him mate...he is clearly the worst player in ur team, and would strugle to get a start in our 2's...

Big deal who rates who. Is it really an issue? Every team goes in to a game with the same mentallity and that is to respect your opposition because dosn't matter who you play weather it be the top side or bottom you still have to go into the game with the right attitude otherwise you'll get rolled
Could not have said it better myself Yager. Talk is cheap let your actions speak for themselves.

clearly werribee tigers are the best side in the comp. by far.. and the first round hic-up was because we were resting our guns for the finals at years end...

First off, drifter you're an idiot. we got up to D2 last year by making the grand final in 2005 in D3. Had an excellent start to the 2006 season but had a terrible slump towards the end to just miss out on finals, due to injuries and just out and out bad form by some blokes.

And yes there is general excitement about blokes we've picked up this year which includes a group of good, hard running young blokes. Also a few positional changes have reviatlised a few players.

As for perry meka, it would have been handy to have a gun key forward but we're no worse off without him.

as for when we play you in a few weeks, i'll be happily pointing to the scoreboard after we smash you

that is all
He would of been very handy at FF as his 5 games for ardmona he's kicked 7,7,6,7 and 9 not bad for a 42 year old

You can blame that on the Keogh boys (soon to be dropped)
Geez, doesn't sound like you're really helping the team morale....

I was just pointing out that on the stats sheet, the Fishloch/Cunningham matchup wasn't the biggest blowout for the day.

Give some credit to your boys. I thought they tried hard all day. Even had a chat to the one that was the extra man in defence during the game.
Good bloke, so I'd say just dropping him like that....or even saying things like you have about him....wouldn't give him the confidence he needs when he next plays against a good forward.

You can blame that on the Keogh boys (soon to be droped)...but mate we still smashed ya's... even our 2's would beat their 1's

As someone watching this from a far and enjoying the banter, I would say the the fool seems to be Cunningham. You say he kicked 4.4? So how many will he kick this week and the week after? Not many I imagine from the wrong side of the fence.

As for 2's beating 1's. Anyone with half a football brain knows that there is a big gap inbetween no matter how much you might win the 2's by.

See thats where you are wrong cockroach. The cunningham that kicked 4.4 will be playing this week and the week after. His brother on the other hand will watch from the sidelines.

Generally all our shit flows to Werribee but given the crap being spoken by the Werribee boys on here the past couple of days it would appear that they have put all systems into reverse at the sewerage farm & the shit is flowing freely out of Werribee.

Can someone let me know what premiership or flag Werribee win for being so good at round 3 even though the scoreboard would suggest they are beatable having already suffered a loss. One of the earlier posts suggested they started well last year but due to injuries & lack of form they missed the finals. Hope you aren't peaking way too early again Werribee.

i believe it is round 4 this week, can anyone confirm??? lets get over all this crap and move on boys...........

Hold on... i am not ready to move on. This is great, nothing better than a bit of passion shown from readers. It is harsh to paint the whole werribee team with the same brush as tiger -amos (keep up the good posts mate, really enjoying them) but it will be very hard not too. All werribee need to do to not look like tools is to win the flag without dropping another game in the 1's and 2's. good luck.

Is Jono offering odds for the flag cos at the moment i reckon they would be very very juicy for werribee, and i from what is being said i think i am would like to get all over it.

The Shit Farmers vs Aquinas on the rebound after kicking themselves out of the game last week could answer a lot of questions this week. So far The Shit Farmers have played only one of the favourites in Banyule & tasted defeat so lets see if they can live up to all their talk.

Aquinas for me by 2 to 3 goals.

only because it is at Aquinas, i'm lead to believe anyway, i will have aquinas by less than a kick.

happy to have the farmer's with a 6 pont spread though.

Werribee will win this game, there onballers Clarke,Dean and co will be to slick. Big Stu Daly will come good and he will start to kick a few goals and with Lee roaming around goals they are a danger.
There are a few of them on this site that talk crap but they are one of the better teams in D2.

your saying that the guy who got cleared from the VFL doesn't play for SMD? Even though it syas his club is SMD, hard to believe!

i think you are referring to Tom Paterakis. he played his whole junior career at SMD then went on to sandy dragons and is now obviously at the zebras. tom hasn't been to a training session in 3 years and i think filled in once maybe two years ago when sandy had a bye and he needed match fitness.

good bloke, hangs around with the players still and technically was available to us last week but until you pointed it out i had no idea he was released for the round.

I think the last time Paterakis played for SMD it was against St.Johns in the rain @ VAFA headquaters on Friday night three years ago.
That night Kealy kicked one of the longest goals in D3 history from the wing (believe it or not).

Mate i was there and there is no way in that rain anyone is kicking a goal from the wing.

You must have a good memory cos keals would've only had the one kick that night. paterakis on the other hand had 50+

Incorrect my friend, kealy had more than 1 kick cause he kicked 2 goals, if you look at the history books he actually got in the best few that night. I think the goal you are talking about was from 70 out, whether that be the wing or not, its pretty far with a wet ball.
Now sparkles looks like your still on the Paterakis band wagon, he isnt gay so your outta luck there mate.

Any chance of Cronan playing a game this year, he had 1 kick on his right at training and went down as if shot. The rest of D2 need not worry about this player, will not play this year.

My hat goes off to Werribee and Bentleigh you have given this forum the spark it needs.

i dont think so, its gonna be a hard game but i believe werribee will take the points by 3 -4 goals. some key players back in the side this week for werribee c, lee to join his younger brother t lee, both to run a much in the foward line and . A taylor could be a inclusion to the side also who is another handy goal kicker.

Cockroach! Interesting response. You sound like an angry man. Mind you I would be to if I lived or played near a sewerage farm.

Anyhow, if I got the Cunningham's wrong then I apologise and stand corrected.

Saints is right.
Kealy played a great game that night and from what I saw in round 1 he was in for a big year.
But my sources tell me if he does not train well this week he may have to be @ the ground around 10.00am.
Cronin is a good mover and highly skilled, why is he not playing?

Cronan has a bad ankle. Was meant to be back this week but he is now on the Aaron Hamill and Chris Scott injury list (indefenite).
