Who's the next team to beat SMD at home drifter?
I may be wrong but I think it was Werribee in June of 2005
Kibe I may be able to answer this, I think Old Xavs in 2011 have a good chance of beating SMD on their way to losing the A section flag.

thats right, werribee did beat SMD at home in 2005 by about 3 goals. we copped an absolute pasting by our coach that game, cos we were back then, a 10 goal better side than SMD
Funny game football, my memory isn't the best but I think it may have only been in 2004 that SMD beat Rupertswood at Sunbury. They are now undefeated in C section.
well i wasnt playing senior footy at that time but im pretty sure werribee had a win against rupo in 03/04 cos they played off in a g/f one of those years. by the way i cant see what rupo has to do with the remark i made. in 2005 at SM, weribee were up by as much as 8 goals at one stage which is why the pasting was in order...then at Soldiers im pretty sure werribee won by a margin somewhere in the 10 goal vicinity

Stooge, you seem to be in an extremely confused state, wait for the ice to wear off then think about this: If you can cop a 6 goal loss as a gallant defeat (i know most of your team mates won't) then you shouldn't feel too surprised when you find yourself running around in D3 next year.
Also I didn't play the bottom side yesterday, if you read back over the past few pages you'll find it fairly obvious that I was in Albert Park coaching a reserves team to a nail biting 1 point win.

Stooge - I think you are aiming your criticism at Harper when I made the comment that Aquinas would win by 15 goals - you certainly did put up a fight - I'll pay that
The margin was alot closer than I thought, but still nothing to be totall happy with

yeah im being harsh on him but enough now,its nothing to be happy with when the game was there to be won and ge should have gone on with it,but silly mistakes cost us late in the last qtr,as for the bottom 2 we'll know that this week when at least 6 of our senior players will be bak in the team against his mob,im confident we can win this one at home but not getting carried away just yet

gr8 effort by ur twos?? losing by 120 odd points?? i dont know wat ur on mate.. u seem to be tryin hard to find positives which i give u credit for but then also giving sh!t to the opposition which beat u by 120 points is just ridiuclous!!(ur seniors were very competitive tho!!) also most teams have injuries ur mob isnt the only one, aquinas have quite a few injuries as previously mentioned!! as do most the top sides, its part of football.. you will probably find that the team in the top 4 that get their best 22 on the park come finals will be very hard to beat!!

Aquinas 2's played well yesterday. FACT
They are better playing unit than they were last year and I did tell the 2's coach this after the game. FACT
In regards to the other posts earlier in this discussion.
Yes all sides have high level of injuries at this time of year. This could be due to the changing ground conditions which we all have endured.
Also I believe the interupted pre seasons some sides experienced may have impacted some of the teams output this year e.g. Bentleigh who still are not able to train on their ground. These factors are beyond the control of the respective clubs.
One thing is for sure GE will be trying their hardest in the next 5 weeks to remain in D2 in 2008.

cheers RFS, i wasnt having a go at ur club at all and the display the seniors showed on the w/e shows that on their day GE can compete with all sides, it was more the fact that a GE player or supporter came on and had a go at the Aquinas 2s about being front runners etc etc, anyway move on from last week and this week shapes up as a big game between Aquinas and Weribee both in the 2s and especially in the 1s...

i never mentioned a thing about the aquinas 2's u idiot,read the posts properly i never even saw the 2's game,i mentioned the GE 2's players who have had to step up and play 1's and did a great job for GE on sat,aquinas 2's are a great side but i dont think the same about the 1's after wat i saw on sat..i dont play for GE but my mate does i play on sunday's in the vfa...i think i'll just stay off this AMATUER site from now on...
st leos didn't even compete with south melbourne yesterday... south are very tall, and have some tough blokes to match up on. they were very impressive in demoloshing st leos.

does this confuse anyone else? GE reserves did well early, as any team playing short of numbers is going to struggle. the constant complaining to the umpires was a bit over the top though.
