Luke Kealy played his best game for the districts today, perhaps now all the Port Colts blokes who have been giving him a hard time can finally GAGF'd

Well done Luke

come on harper dont tell me one good game makes him a superstar!! and if the port colts comment was directed at me i dont play for the colts. i was told that luke niemi was benched for most of the game? what a joke, the boy can play and would be ya best if ya gave him some game time. but in saying that im wrapped almost got him to sign last night over the phone for next season! and him not being happy down there shouldnt be hard to get him over to a decent club!

Harper,

Is your club going to do anything about the incident that happened with about 10 minutes to go in the last quarter. Spectator and waterboy punching on. Police involved and it doesn't look good for your club having an ex player do this.

I went to Frederick Watcher reserve yesterday, unlike Wah Wah Wah, I thought that the ground was in quite good condition. Bit windswept, though. Good game of footy almost ruined by overumpiring, and some of the strangest descisions I have ever seenutterly confusing players and spectators aalike. Anyone like to guess who the "controlling" man in white was?

Sounds like the reaction that Stubbs gets?

Not hard to guess who the ump was. It was that pedantic bastard Stubbs. Must be new rules invented by him. eg Dont lean forward when on the mark or I will give 25. he also loves to harass volunteers. Neither the players or spectators had a clue to his decisions.

If you listened to our president after the game you would be clear on our clubs reaction and opinion on the incident. It is not on. However; why a waterboy was over the fence and involved should also be looked at.

In all it was a blight on a great preformance and a game played in good spirit.

i played in that game yesterday and thought the ground was very good,as for the umpiring probably the worst all year, since when are the water carriers not aloud on the ground to run water?both umps said "get off the ground until a goals kicked its not summer its winter they dont need a drink"wats up with that...and when are we going to get real goal umps someone will miss out on the finals because of dodgy decisions.

Umpires are becoming a real issue. I know of a club that has had to speak seriously to the VAFA twice this year about umpires being vocal towards players for no apparent reason.

And they have the nerve to complain when spectators get frustrated!!!!

What an idiot Stubbs is, ruined a good game Forget that the Salesian canteen run by the Parkmore girls has to be the best in the VAFA. You name it they had it. Well done ladies. There is a job for you with my club in B grade if you reply

Apologies to Port Colts players, should of done my homework before giving you all a whack.
AEOM, Kealy would be the first to admit that he sets himself up to be potted by blokes that don't get to see him play with some of the things he says on public footy forums but I can assure you that Saturdays effort was NOT his first good game for the districts this year and the fact that he continues to walk into the 1's team after a horror year with a problem hammy is evidence of his value to the side. As reserves coach I would love it if he was dropped back, I have coached him once this year and watched him kick 4 second half goals to get us over the line, I doubt he'll play reserves again.
As for Luke Niemi, Fez is a quality bloke who knows if he has a problem with selection Gerard is more than happy to talk about it. All the players and staff at the districts are 100% behind Gez and his decisions, his record speaks for itself and Werribee are the latest team to find out what a quality coach he is and club the districts are. Not sure how happy Fez would be with you telling complete strangers about a private phone call anyway.

Another interesting round in D2 gents, bottom 5 clubs all on 20 points now, both Banyule and St leos battling for 4th spot recorded poor returns against sides they really should have beaten.

Smooth Jimmy and Jono "Nostradamis" Healy would have a swagger in their step this morning having picked the districts to demolish the league leading tigers.

And how about those South Melbourne dew kickers? A 30 goal turnaround over the two H&A games...... MAGIC!

We have had many incidents whereby a player has been sworn at or even mocked by an umpire. Despite what they say, they should not put themselves in the position where they have to "mouth" back.

The best investment I have seen is a teammate with the words f**k off written across his mouth guard, this was bought after his coach told him to just smile after a bad decision!

Very interesting now, does anyone think that with Emmaus and Banyule succumbing to teams they should have beat, that any of the bottom 5 could sneak into the four? If Salesian won I would've backed them. Interesting that the SMD 2s got the points over then undefeated Werribee. Can anyone give me any info about the 1s game? Did Werribee just not arrive? Missing anyone?

Thanks for the support Harps, was good to get a kick on saturday and what a win. Couldnt of dreamt that result. We have to back up this week though or it means nothing.

Dont worry about Fez he is more than happy and thought he went ok on sat. He will get better. As for all-Eyes how did the turtle neck go this week?

SMD completely outplayed Werribee in the 1's and 2's. They played as a team hellbent on beating the top sides. They won in every position on the field. Never let us have a sniff all day and were relentless with their running and pressure on the ball carrier. Would be hard to beat with that kind of footy. Must be said that we didn't apply the same pressure that we put on Aquinas the previous week. Good lesson to learn that you must be at 100% every week or get slammed. Congrats to SMD on a powerful show of football. Looking forward to the next contest.

SMD gave us a shallacking.pulled our pants down and kept them down all day.were we uncompetitive and what we served up was unacceptable.you guys were too good.no excuses.beaten by a better side on the day.harps who's the old duck in the stands.she's been there forever??

Is he the bald sort of tubby bloke?
If so then I fully agree. Absolute knob of the highest order.

No he is a skinny schoolteacher with glasses. I once heard an umpire say that he pulled out when he had to umpire with Stubbs. Thinks he is umpiring grade 2.
I think grade 2 kids would have more intelligence than him. He told the other ump on Sat that he would take control because the Umps Advisor might be there!!!!

Can anyone tell me of another comp at any level where all teams still have a mathimatical chance to make the finals with 3 games to go?

St Leos or Banyule should stumble over the line, the winner this week would surely finish 4th. St Leos % makes it out of reach for the bottom 5.

How many competitions would have the bottom 5 sides level on wins seperated by less than 7%.....There is still a lot of footy to be played in the last 3 rounds with plenty hanging on every result. No dead rubbers in D2 this year.

well done on saturday harps,if ge can win every game from now on and leos and banyule dont then we can still get in the 4,as we play both of them on the run home,we will just about be at full strength this week at home, any thoughts super coach...

Thanks stooge, GE could really rock the boat if they can make the finals having pushed Aquinas and beaten SMD. I can't wait for the finals, in what is such an even comp it'll be huge 3 weeks who-ever plays and the battle to get there will be fascinating.

Good Luck

Gez might be in some trouble Harps, After seeing what you had written on the board pre match and to pull off at 180 point turn around you should go after the big job.

Loving your work Harps, does your entire 2s side get travel sickness? Hard to believe the difference between your home + away work. Still, stopping the Werribee 2s juggernaut (even if only for a week) deserves some congratulations. Well coached!

YB, I had 22 blokes commit to a fairly basic game plan, the kudos must go to the players for believing they could pull it off and the way in which they played. We had no passengers.
Away games have been a battle this year especially rounds 5 (Werribee) and 9 (Aquinas) where very under manned teams have struggled mentally and physically to match it with the top two. I think we turned the page on that chapter of the season at half time against GE and carried it into Saturdays match.
Looking forward to seeking revenge on Willy this week, then our mortal enemy Bentleigh then another huge test against Aquinas. But first we put in another solid week on the track.
