To the GE boys - 1stly sloth - when you lose everything drops off - I dont do the website so not sure when the next update will come from. apologies for the lack of useful insights - i prseume you mean match reports
And 2ndly to Stooge - fair enough comments - we have lost 5 in a row.
However your better players - Tsiro, Massis, Diamond, Bongo etc all played last time so it wont be comfortable either way mate.
Also all teams are hard at the footy - it would surely be EVERY coach's message each week so i expect nothing less from you guys who are in good form
Full strength is briiliant for you guys too - earlier this year you were missing about 70 players at one stage
Ok, now that most people have vented and all the crap has been spoken here are some FACTS. I'll qualify myself first by saying that I was running water for South Melb during this game and was at the investigation at HQ on Tuesday night.
Firstly the injured water boy who decided to jump the fence to confront a spectator did so because he was copping a spray for playing as a 19th player in the SMD forward 50. A fact that was brought to the attention of the field umpires who did nothing about it until the waterboy was caught putting his hands up to take up more space while SMD moved forward. Some of the verbal barrage coming from the car in question was something about poo farming, hardly anything someone representing Werribee hasn't heard before. I can't remember any woman in the area except a SMD players' girlfriend in her car 20 -30 metres away, could have been more in other cars but I didn't see them before or after the incident.
Dean Bell stepped out of the car when approached by the water boy who by this stage had crossed the boundary, then a fence and became confrontational. The second person in the car was the bloke who broke the fight up as acknowledged by the Werribee President at the investigation. Having copped a hiding the water boy then rang an ambo and the cops. Werribee officials then filed an unobserved incident report for the VAFA hence the investigation.
Keep in mind that in the previous week a Hawthorn Amatuers player received a TWO WEEK suspension for leaving the playing arena and attacking an opposition team manager. TWO WEEKS! thats all.
Anyway, while consuming many beers through the Saturday night with both field umpires from the game that day I went home with no doubt that the two of them had moved on and were not interested in the incident after providing the report to the VAFA and the cops. This is where the VAFA proved once again what a Kangaroo court it holds in the name of an "investigation". Whoever coerced the 15 year old boundary umpire into giving a report should be ashamed of themselves, this poor kid who would have already been shaken by the incident was then put in front of the investigation to give his version of events. He was clearly uncomfortable. Fair enough though you need a witness, SMD provided 2, Werribee 0, where were the senior field umpires? Why weren't Werribee requested to explain what their waterboy was doing on Aughie Dve? Where is the TWO WEEKS for this? SMD were ****ed before we even set foot into HQ.
I have it on reliable legal advice that the VAFA have now stuffed any chance of criminal procedings as the VAFA investigation can be seen as prejudicial to Dean having a fair trial should the incident ever go that far.
I would like to move on from this now as the last 2 weeks have been the most depressing in my short footy career and has made me question whether the VAFA should be held in such high regard as a comp. I'm not here to incite the people at Werribee, I enjoy the banter between the clubs when it is good natured and tongue in cheek and I'm sure Javo and Yaga who I've had a little bit to do with would echo these sentiments. What I am spewing about is how the VAFA have handled this because of their prejudice to a particular club and a particular player (ex player). I'm sure if it was Dean who ended up with the injuries you wouldn't have heard a peep! perhaps many of the blokes posting here would be saying he deserved it. Utter BS
Bad kicking is bad football Stooge. We haven't made excuses the last 5 weeks, just beaten by better teams. I personally can't wait for tomorrow, think you will see a very committed St Leo's outfit. Look forward to having a beer with you after the game.

Feel, for you mate, and obviously what you have written is coming from the heart. Unfortunately for you guys, a couple of bad eggs spoil the reputation of SMD, and it is a reputation they have had over a number of years. I understand your frustration, however even this year there are certain things that don't help your cause - even though you guys are trying to turn this around.
All the best this weekend, and let's hope this is the end of any negative incidents regarding SMD.

Werribee have a chance for the double and St Johns chucked in the towel last week against GE. I dont think they have the firepower. its a shame both sides cant lose.
Personally I don't know why people continue to single out SMD's reputation. Having played against them since the early 90's in SFL & now VAFA I don't see that they are any different to any other side you come up against. Over time footy has changed & all clubs, including SMD, have changed along with it. Surely no one on here believes that their club has no skeletons in the closet & no incidents over the years, on & off field, that they aren't proud of.

I hoping my boys can knock off St.Leos at Burwood. According to what I have been told its a long time since it happened ! Werribee would have to be at their best to knock over St.Johns down there. The Jocs are capable of pulling of the upset ! Pattie and Arnold are required to be monitored closely for Werribee to be assured of the points. Aquinas should get the points providing they need Gayfer to a nominal amount of goals (under 4). I suspect Wooden will get the job on him. Salesian will defeat Willi at Parkmore in a tight contest. Mallett is quality player for Chaddy and could prove the difference if they (Salesian) get the ball to him enough times. SMD should defeat Bentleigh but I am thinking Robbo might say otherwise. He has some of the best mits going around for size !

Aquinas @ $1.18. Too good to even chance losing top spot, that'll have to wait 'till next week. (6 goals)
GE @ $1.90. On a hot streak and will do whatever it takes to have a game in 3 weeks! (4 goals)

Thinking back to last time we played, and that whole incident occurred...I remember one of the ladies saying, "I bet you Bentleigh people are ashamed of this man"...
After hearing about all this waterboy incident (which I might term 'watergate' from now on...hahaha) I wonder what her thoughts are on one of her own???
I'm still a bit confused about what happened with watergate...was it dean bell or the waterboy who swung the first punch?

One more thing though Harps. This waterboy is the same one that stuck up for your guy that went to the tribunal last time the two teams met.
Nowhere near a dog of a bloke. Good honest person. Reason he wasn't playing was because he had his nose realigned three weeks ago and has had to have it done again because of a reckless incident which i agree should never of occured. Maybe we should all agree to disagree.
And the other comment about Werribee female supporters, i have never heard them swear to the capabilities of f%^%in this and f^%%in that. Maybe some of the big T**ty fat boys on the sidelines but not the females.
Never said I had any personal issues with your waterboy, spoke to him during the game and thought he was a decent bloke using his footy smarts to fill gaps in our forward line. What I am seething over is that our mate and club gets shit canned from ******** to breakfast for sticking up for himself, by some Werribee people but mostly VAFA cardigan wearers who are only interested in the big old boys clubs.

Banyule have the chance to make the 4 with a win over glen eira, who are playing great football themselves, because i cant see leos beating werribee!
And sth melbourne and aquinas will play 2 weeks in a row with a preview of the final this week!

yep i have to agreewith those tips,although glen eira can still make the 4 only if they beat banyule by over 145 points...or leos lose by 10 goals and GE win by 15,its a funny game football and as we have seen in this division anything is possible.
Interesting week, with possibly two games being repeated 2 weeks in a row.
St Leo's will have to throw everything at Werribee to play finals. I thhink they are clearly the 4th best team and deserve the spot, although GE are definately the in form team that left their run a little late and are now relying on other team's results to get thim in.
SMD v Aquinas will be an interesting encounter. Will either want to give anything away before week one of finals?
