just to add my two bob, i can recall a situation with GEs goal umpire blatantly cheating but i think he was a fill in as he could only have been 16.

it was impressive how well he did it, being so young and looking completely unphased by the verbal barrage he copped from the crowd. Saying that though i think all clubs would be guilty of this at least in the twos, disappointing though.

The young kid that day spent most of his time leaning on the fence talking to his mate who was an obvious distraction. I think he honestly made two mistakes and wasn't exactly cheating. Made no difference to the result.

Unlike Drifter to be complaining about umpires, hey Drifter;)

Unfortunately I wasn't behind the goals at this stage, so I cant comment but both the goal umpire and field umpire thought it was a goal.

Actually the Field Umpire CANNOT over rule the Goal Umpires decision

Interesting but was confirmed this by the Umpy after the game

He can question a decision but thats it

The only reason Im disappointed is the Goal Umpire joked to your trainer with the mo when asked by the trainer that it prob missed after the game on the way to the rooms - that is appalling to hear that

Enough said on the topic though

Did his hammy against Williamstown, out for the season!

He was very quick over the 1st 20 metres - always going to happen mate

I have to have some laughs on this thread as my season could end on Saturday.

If Leos hold on - has any team in Ammos history made the Top 4 on a 7 game losing streak????

Close to full strength Drifter. More importantly the form of a few guys who have played between the 1's and 2's this year was impressive. Tiny Tim has cemented his spot in the 1's now with a brilliant display at CHF and Crawf who dominated the ruck in the 2's for 3 quarters then had a quick rest and went out and gave Bentleighs #2 a bath at CHB in the 1's.

While on the topic of the Bentleigh #2, cheap shots from behind when your team is down by 12 goals is just bad footy mate, something to think about while you learn how to kick further than 35 metres.

As if SMD don't do this (your clubs culture to do this) - Harper you are an official biased joke!:thumbsdown:

Welcome to the forum btown, but I think you've joined a little late. Maybe you should get started on the D3 scribes.

Further more, great to see so many GE players and supporters hanging around for a drink afterwards - there was not one there for preso's. I think most clubs in the comp would be pretty happy with our behaviour and attendance at after much functions. You knob.
i played in that game had a shower then went into the rooms and didnt see any leos players, only about 5 blokes sitting around a table,so i went back and had a drink outside our change rooms...but we had a sponsors function to attend by 6.30 so probably thats why there was no one around,as i recalled seeing many of the leos players emerged out of ur rooms at about 5.15/5.30 losing 6 in a row why would you be in a hurry to much at stake and to think about...

I left at 6.00 and there was still plenty of our blokes there. How long do you want us to hang around for presentations. We also had a function starting at 7.30, but made sure most of the players came in for a drink.
i thought the function started at 6.30 so i didnt hang around,oh well next year

Of course we give a bit, every side does. But we dont belt anyone when the ball is no where near us. #2 was a goose and even his teammates were saying the same. Im sure he will go ok in Z grade next year i mean D3. Maybe you can lose that Grand Final to after being 6 goals up.

Saints no need to be a smarta$5e about last year. Don't go getting ahead of yourself as there is plenty of footy to be played before you have won anything this year.

Alot of what i said was a direct dig at some Bentleigh players who were being smart a$5es on the w/e. Not getting ahead of myself dont worry about that.

Time to frame some markets.

First - Premiership Betting

Aquinas - $2.75
Have taken all before them, beaten all contenders, and appear to be doing it easy. Deserve to be favourites, have great depth.

Sth Melb - $5.00
Again, have beaten everyone except Aquinas. Look to be playing good footy, and smashed thir placed Werribee recently. Cheevers is the obvious wildcard against a side such as Aquinas.

Werribee - $7.50
Travelling along quietly, and haven;t talked themselves up of late. Are the obvious third contender, and on bigger grounds could cause some damage. The Lee boys are ones to stop, have been in some good form.

Glen Eira / Banyule / St Leos - $25
Glen Eira playing the best footy of the three. Banyule and St Leos in the box seat to play finals. Can they give any of the top 3 a scare?

Relegation Stakes
Williamstown - $2.00
Unlucky, talented young list smashed by injury. Think they are in trouble, but wouldn't surprise to see them back in 2009
Bentleigh - $3.00
Another talented young side, hurt by lack of ground etc
St Johns - $6.00
Have been competitive, and should stay up.
Salesian -$25.00
Win when they need to - have a huge percentage gap

Dont be shy now Saints. SMD should be a truck load shorter & I would have them as flag favourite. Costello back in this week & you are only missing 1 player, who wont be back, from being full strength. SMD have lots of fire power with Hannan, Costello, Cheevers, the big fella filling CHF, Aquilina & Mahoney crumbing etc plus a good midfield & a tight defence.

I'd be happy to take the $5 on offer

Who is the bloke who will be out for the year. I cant think of anyone from our best team who wont be back in the next few weeks. It's going to be hard for the coaches at seletion next few weeks. Costello (a.k.a U-turns or Boozey) will have to come back in but for who i have no idea. When i thought someone might be under pressure they put in a blinder. Good problem to have though.

Just a quick shout out to Shakira Niemi, has just bought a KFC outlet. He was spending to much on drive through each week so decided to buy an outlet. Good work champ.

On the money there McAdam, saints is playing mind games i think.

I would also take Werribee at $7.50. SMD are a different side at home, 23 straight tells you that, so their loss there earlier in the year shouldnt worry them too much.

Aquinas will only deserve to be that short depending on what they do this saturday.

Very good summation though Kibe.

What about Omaid Kohnesheen? He would be in your best 22

While on the topic of the Bentleigh #2, cheap shots from behind when your team is down by 12 goals is just bad footy mate

Funny you say that harps... I know which incident you're talking about as well...
but do you remember what he said after he did it???

"You bastards did it as well....You set the standard"

Which was 100% true, because just moments earlier I was absolutely crunched by that massive #28....elbow to the head, after I'd tapped the ball to a teammate....making it completely behind play...

While face down on the ground I heard someone from the South crowd yell out, "Yeah...That's how you clean someone up"
.....really swell people you have down there....

Anyway, I got myself up, shook it off, and looked over at the big fella who did it....and he was in pain and struggling to breathe.......so, NO, it wasn't quite textbook....seeing as:-
a) It was a cheap shot behind the play
b) I was half the guy's size
and
c) He ended up worse than me

Point is, your boys aren't all sweet and innocent (as everyone knows)...and if you're gonna go around giving out cheap shots like that, then you should expect some back, from any team you play.

Credit to #28 though, because despite some pushing, shoving and yapping between us after that incident....once the final siren went he came up to me and said,
"We'll leave it on the footy field mate???"

My thoughts exactly....
