I'm only judging on what i have seen. In the 2 games against Bentleigh he has not done alot at all. Im sure from what i have heard he's a gun but i didnt see it. The best player i saw from Bentleigh was Charlie McFadden on the w/e.

Yeah, each time we've played you guys Robbo's been tagged pretty well by that #38... is he that Elliot Costello guy harps is talking about?
Pretty good tagger if you ask me....
As for Charlie McFadden, he did play a blinder on the weekend, but his year has been really injury interrupted, so he hasn't had the best of seasons....
Maybe he just tried extra hard to turn it on against his old club...

So hard to pick these sides because you can't watch more than one game a week and often it is the same side each week.

You could base it on who gets in the best most often, but even then it's hard to say what position suits each player.

Being a non player and going to which ever game has been most interesting or in the direction Im heading on the day, I have managed to get a good look at the comp. My only issue with blokes in the best getting by default is that there are club 'favourites' and also some who clubs don't reward openly; as maybe the player gets embarrased and just likes a pat on the back, or it is an ace up the sleeve to have a gun player flying under the radar. I'm pretty sure most teams would have one or two blokes without many stats who will feature near the top in their BnF.

100% spot on mate. Those bests in the record are crap, same blokes every week regardless of how they play. I remember back in round 1 i got in the best and all i did was get a few kicks at the end. very ordinary game by myself. We have also had players in there that have not got near it.

That is Elliot. I would hate to play on him, he's an absolute pest. Just follows the player everywhere and doesnt give his player a moments rest. Helps that he's one of the fitter guys going around. Would imagine Den Braber might see a bit of him next few weeks.
Was good to see Charlie back where it all began, maybe he might come back next year.

It was the way it worked out. We are so lucky to have these 2 peaking at finals time. Gerard Jess would have the best hands i have seen below his feet. It's biased but i think when fully fit best player in the comp. He has speed, strength, hardness, skill, endurance, footy smarts....look he has it all. Absolute freak.

you are right..hes worth every cent...

Must be a few nerves getting around D2 circles, very quiet around here today, understandable with so much to play for this week for some teams.

My early tip for Saturday. The VAFA website to crash under the strain of all the traffic to see which teams survived.

Good Harps - there is some VAFA pod cast thing on at 1pm if anyone can access it

Just to the Aquinas boys, who is planned to cover the injury to Hunt. Been keeping an eye on your games and he is certaintly one of your go to players whether it be goals or further up the ground.. Tought the districts a lesson last time.

Does anyone from St Johns OC post on here? PM if you'd prefer not to out yourself publicly. I'm looking for someone to call to find out the reserves score from Doveton at some point on Saturday.

He'll look good in red and white next year.

Jon hasnt played for the last few weeks and as you can see by the results we have managed to average 20 goals in 2 of those matches, so we seem to find other avenues to goals when Jon isnt playing.

espresso you would look gr8 in the red black and green, you should never forget where your home is!!

Just make sure the bloke you call is standing on the small part of the ground where you can actully see the scoreboard!!

What a joke that is!!!

It is very nice lakeside.

i heard that too mah mah mah - some of the senior blokes on the committee are bank rolling this crap

Wouldnt surprise me if Morsello's return in the pre-season from Croydon was on a similar payments basis..

Nah Morsello never left at any stage or had intentions of leaving, he did have some offers though so i've heard. I think he is to friendly with the club to leave drifter. Its a shame being close to the club knowing that it could be happening.

Are SMD still paying players?????

Our coach Gez wanted to play this year but couldn't due to his salary as a coach. Like most clubs, we've lost a few blokes who could use the cash and play in the district or country leagues. We even lost Coops to Willy for a plumbing apprentiship!

Didnt realise Morsello had stayed through the entire pre-season - my mistake.

It was suspicious that Singh returned mid-season - fronting a new set of wheels and too much bling..

Bloods22, I'm no fasionista but no one can look great in red, black and green.

The only time its ever looks good harps in on a footy field and im sure the 44 blokes that wear it throughout the day on saturday will prove this....

Harps- forget about the game that starts at 2pm lets chat about the more important game at 11.40... Are you 2s side startin to hit full strength with finals just over a week away u would hope that he side is just about set, how about ur goodself? are u running around gettin a kick or just concentrating on the magnets?

I know us guys at Aquinas are lookin forward to the game on saturday our last big test against weribee we failed miserably and looking forward to the big test on saturday, no doubt the side will be totally different to the side we played last time and we are expecting this!!
