Here we are just passing the half way point of the season and only Glen Eira could be counted as a certainty for finals action while the bottom two appear headed for the drop. The rest, well the next three weeks will certainly sort them out.

Thats one hell of a prediction, what with the top side undefeated & the bottom 2 having one a game between them. Talk about going out on a limb. Looking forward to the next update.

Well we are just past half way now and the ladder is starting to look set
I think the only one of the top 4 too look a bit shakey is latrobe as they have a hard run home with playing all the sides above and just below them on the ladder
GE and Therry at the uni , the jocs at their ground is tough ,Eltham at Eltham and st leos at the uni. you could bank on two loses GE and the Jocs ,therry is 50 /50 and then 50/50 for leos and 60 /40 for the uni boys against Eltham but saddly it looks like bye bye to div 2 for old westbourne and aquinas

Been dropped to water boy.
Yeah I spoke to him on Saturday when and he said his ankle was still injured from the last time he played us....
He is without doubt the best ruckman in the comp IMO, having him back for the run home will make GE even stronger.

I am going to venture to Therry again for another hotdog or two this week (& because it is by far the closest ground to me - Latrobe not too far either)....good game 3rd vs 2nd, Not too sure what to think, but will have a crack at the tips for this week also:
Aquinas vs South Melbourne - 10pts
St Leo's vs Glen Eira - 29pts
SMS vs Eltham - 9pts
Therry Penola vs St Johns - 23 pts (despite the rumour from my last visit that McKernan was playing this game).
Old Westbourne vs La Trobe Uni - 70pts

Ha ha...no I wish it did operate during the games - having said that It is good in the ammo's that drinking during games is prohibited....who can't wait a couple of hours to have a beer???
I did have a hot dog their 2 weeks ago, delightful!...then had a beer after the game as I know a fella from GE.

I think its going to be an interesting weekend. There's rumours that a few sides have injuries at the moment so it will test their depth and see if they have the depth of Glen Eira have. Geeze wouldn't have been saying that a few years ago!

can anyone report on the latrobe old westbourne game its looks like the uni boys were lucky to get a win i expect the wind was blowing a gale out there and would have made the game pretty scrapy any care to enlighten s all

Yeah, got there at about half time of the two's game.
The senior game was of okay standard, both sides seemed to be missing targets early by hand & foot. Therry were kicking against the wind in the 1st quarter and ended up with a 8 point advantage at quarter time.
2nd quarter was fairly scrappy and although Therry took a 4 goal lead into the half time break, St Johns weren't out of it.
3rd quarter was won by St Johns (kicking with a handy breeze) but Therry kicked a couple against it and probably "won" the quarter although not on the score board taking a 17 point lead into the 3/4 time break.
Last quarter saw St Johns get out of the blocks early against this wind to kick a couple....pretty good game to watch in the last quarter, but it looked to me as if Therry were always in control of getting across the line, although the scoreline of 7 points at the end of the game may not have suggested so.
Umpiring was okay....didn't notice them. Game was played in good spirits.
Hope that is a fair assessment.
Hotdogs were good again....
