Great win for SM against GE one of the best wins this season so far. Been a Aquinas support for the last four years now and seeing them self down the bottom of the ladder once again, and facing the R word in 2011, we all know that Old Westbourne will be heading that way in D3 next year and a few have ridding of Aquinas but looking at the ladder so far 3 12 apiece with St Mary's Salesian with three more weeks left before the end of the season, its really anyone game now and who knows might even be SMS and OW heading D3, just have to wait and see hey. Go Bloods

Well done South what a win this could have been the loss that GE need to have to make sure of a strong finals series. But its poor timing for the jocs as they play GE this week and i can't see GE losing two in a row.
I think there might be some nervous heads at Latorbe as Eltham are on the charge and play the uni boys @ the turle arena in two weeks time this will be a interesting game it will be worth the time to travel to have a look at this game.

Good hard fought win to South Melbourne, well done on being the first to knock over Glen Eira.

Ventured down to watch the Therry v St Mary's game. Left at 3qt but was a spitting image to last weeks game against Aquinas. Costello dominated up forward, had 6 to 3qt and ended up kicking 8. no.23 kept the big full forward relatively quiet day. 3rd time I have seen them play this year, they keep unearthing new kids. Salesian will be lucky to stay in d2, although seem much better than aquinas. Will be interesting to see who is relagated.

Interesting round this week, would expect Eltham to get over the line against aquinas, same as Therry over westbourne and latrobe over emmaus; match of the round jocs v glen eira. Could set the final four in stone if glen eira have a win. A big turn around with Therry having a big win and Jocs a big loss will almost certainly ensure Therry will obtain the double chance.

Will venture down to the la trobe vs leo's game this week and keep an eye on things.

Ranger out.

Rd 16 tips from the Freak.

Big round for Eltham, can they get some % back on Latrobe before next weeks crucial match vs the uni boys??

Glen Eira vs St Johns will be a cracker!!

Can SMS knock of SMD again? they win they stay up. Its a no for me, especially with SMD confidence after knocking off the undefeated GE.

Aquinas v Eltham 55pts
St Mary's Salesian v South Melb Districts 31pts
La Trobe Uni
22pts v Emmaus St Leos
Glen Eira 7pts v St John's
Old Westbourne v Therry Penola 120pts

Tips for the week

Round 16

Aquinas vs Old Eltham
St Mary's vs South Melbourne
La Trobe University vs Emmaus St Leo's
Glen Eira vs St John's
Old Westbourne vs Therry Penola

The biggie is down at Packer Park.
Will the previously unbeaten Saninters show enough to get back on the winners list against some real September style opposition.
Should sort a few out... The Eirans by a whisker for mine

the uni boys have also hit a form slump at the wrong end of the season by the look of it. Eltham must be licking their lips in anticipation of this week clash and a chance to move in to the four

Therry have probably stepped quietly into favouritism with Glen Eira getting the wobbles at the wrong time of the year. It's funny how clear comp leaders can suddenly start doubting themselves after a few losses.

What a great clash the game at Packer Reserve will be this Saturday!

Gone quiet Glen Eira lads haven't they? Maybe going to let their football do the talking this weekend, but it's strange not to have them spouting off. Phantom S are you alive? Missing your in depth reports from the last couple of weeks!
There are a couple of big clashes this weekend, good luck to all.

Interest for me this weekend will be at the foot of the table as Aquinas battle Old Westbourne. The "text messages" play the combined students which is quite intriguing. If SMS lose to Emmaus and Aquinas continue their recent form, OW could have a new relegation partner given that both SMS & Aquinas have difficult assignments in the last round.

Round 17.

Emmaus St Leo's vs St Mary's Salesian

Glen eira has had some injuries to some of our top players... But will have them back either this week or the next... So will run into finals at near full strength so long as there arnt anymore injuries...

welcome back glen eira u have a win a u are back on big footy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well what a big weekend in footy the turtles have moved onto the four the jocs to second on the ladder and the uni boys out of the four for the first time this year .
The last round will be a cracker with therry v eltham the pick of the round eltham need to win to stay in the four . Then you.have Aquinas they get up over an out of form latrobe to avoid relegation or will the uni boys come good with a faint hope of some finals action
St Marys v GE St Mary will be praying hard for the uni boys as their task to beat GE will be mission impossable you gotta love this time of year

Its always a good comp when it comes down to the last round of the year. All games will make a difference with only GE StL and OW. Not able to move anywhere.

For mine
La Trobe to beat Aquinas
Glen Eira to beat St Marys
Therry to beat Eltham
St Johns to beat St Leos
SMD to beat OW

So that's
Top 4
Glen Eira
St Johns
Theory Penola
La Trobe

Relegation
Aquinas
Old Westbourne

But I can see any of the games this week going the other way.

In the 2's the top 3 are set.
Glen Eira
Therry Penola
St Johns

4th place is a mind boggle with St Leos and St Marys on 36pts and La Trobe a game behind but the best % of the 3.

For mine the La Trobe will get the 4th spot due to the other 2 playing 2 of the top 3. But it may not matter too much because St Johns will smash anyone they play in the first week of finals.

Good luck to all this weekend

Not if they play with the agression that started the mother of all brawls on saturday!

Are you talking about GE or SMS starting a brawl? Tell me more.

Word spreads quickly, i heard of this too only due to links with one of the clubs involved.

Couple of solid 1 on 1 bouts too, and from reports Carey copped a few rippers!!

Was the boundary umpire involved from St Leos?? Any truth in this?
