Would some1 like to elaborate on what was said after the match? The Bentleigh president has a very dry sense of humour which in no way was rude or insulting to any SMS player. Our reserves coach spoke on behalf of our coaching panel and praised SMS not only for their efforts on the day but also for staying behind in such great numbers.
The facts are that we at Bentleigh are suffering from a long list of injuries. But as has been pointed on already, thats football and you have to accept that. Whether these injuries have cost us wins in debatable. Only Banyule and Eltham have really blown us out of the water. All other games we have lost we have also had a chance to win. (lost 4 games by under 10 points and a draw). Credit MUST go to our opponents though as they took home the four points, and at the end of the day thats all that matters.
Phantom Starlight - What was it that you disagreed with in the leader article after the G.E v. Bentleigh match? The statement that Bentleigh had injuries? The statement that Bentleigh dominated play however Glen Eira used the conditions far better to their advantage? All these points are not only fair by 100% correct. The column went on to mention a few key Bentleigh players and that was about it.
I'm sure if a supporter or member of your club were able to articulate yourselves in a manner appropriate for public viewing, the leader would publish this for you also. Maybe you could try your best at promoting your club via this medium and not expect a Bentleigh column to rave on about a rival team! Unfortunately this appears too hard for you. All you seem to be able to do is hide behind a pseudonym posting negative comments about Bentleigh. Do you have any football knowledge at all?
