Ahh Dr Truth, when I played the place kick was still in vogue as were black and white shorts,one umpire and the obligatory 3/4 time ***, and if you were lucky a nip of scotch to keep the old ticker working.Hard ball gets sounded like the name of a fancy restaurant some people would be lucky enough to visit once a year.Definetely a fringe player, but played at a time when it was hard uncompromising footy where contests were the order of the day.Nowadays it is the rocket scientists that dictate how the game is played.Alas the game is not the same, but it is still better than watching soccer.
I wasn't aware that the MSJFL opened its records to all and sundry, however if they are available I will gladly take on your suggestion. Just remember the door swings, something you obviously choose to ignore.

Yes, congrats, but a little strange that a player from a club that only wins six games for the season, and took a couple of floggings, polls well to take the medal. He missed three games and was only named in his club's best on seven occasions and only two of those were the best - the rest were 4th, 5th or 6th. Now I know that pretty well all clubs 'cheat' on listing their better players each week, but ........
Shades of the intrigue associated with the co-winner of the D3 medal who's team only won the one game and took some terrible floggings during the season.

Great effort by the lad in his 1st full season. Came 5th in our B& F behind Singh, Gatehouse, Murphy and Thwaites. Mind you it was by less than 10 votes. He is very quick, carries the footy and was probably our most consistent player this year. The lad is shocked but good on him, came up from our 18's last year in the last 5 games to play in the Grand Final side. Couldn't have happened to a nicer kid
Though we only won 6 games we were in winning positions in at least 7 games and couldnt manage to win. We got touched up in 2 games Clint. Bentleigh the 1st time and Banyule in the last games
We lost to Westbourne by 14 and 13
Glen Eira by 5 and 18 (led or tied in both games with 5 mins to go)
St Leos by 18 (led by 26 at 3 quarter time)
Banyule first time by 30
Prahan by 17 (led at 3 quarter time)
Therry by 20 (led a 3 quarter time)
Hardly getting flogged there.

Also not bad winning it from the 2nd bottom side!! Although as was said all season, it was a very even year. Amazing that the top 2 in the league B&F came from the 9th and 10th placed clubs.
Bentleigh co-captan Scott Lawry was on fire early (when we were quite competitive) up to round 7 with 0,2,3,3,2,0,1. Finished on 14 votes to be our highest ranked in 8th place overall.
Well done to all this season and especially Banyule on doing the double, too good all year. We know from experience last year.. the party should still be going

Well Done to Brabs on a great career, had many duels with him over the 21 year period. Well done to Phil, Simmo and the boys on a great year in going to D1.
On a side note cant believe the VAFA voting. Boundy in Round 8 against us had 20 marks and 30 possessions in pouring rain and didn't get a vote while Miller who hardly touched it got 2 votes.
We won 16 games and could only manage 68 votes. In 5 games that we won we couldn't get the 3 votes.
Well Done To Darcy Cumberland on polling more votes than Barcs. A great effort.

Though Johns and Pavez would poll okay for us, but I expected Critter Hudson to be right up there. He would certainly be the favourite for our B&F.
