The Ruck is one position where their is a fair bit of quality.

Pathenidies
Spithill
Crooks
Spink
Hudson

I think Spink has the best all round game. But all 5 could be worthy of a spot. I think Twiggy Munson nailed it with Spink and Spithill but I wouldn't swap them for our bloke (Parthenidies). I am biased however.

Dave Thwaites (SMS) is another Crazybear. Would be very high in our B &F

Some big games this week, avoid relegation and or hang on to the top four. Westbourne are a real threat providing they keep winning. Therry play GE next week so OW could be in. Looking at their results they have lead for most of the contest against bangle and theory last time, also smashed paradians. Looking forward to watching how it all pans out

They may make the finals but they are hardly a threat. Away form has been average at best.

Emmaus St Leos vs Old Paradians. The form team are looking to sew up the double chance and won't drop this one.
Therry Penola vs Bentleigh. A win to the home side will go a long way to securing a finals spot.
Banyule vs Old Eltham. Although the Research boys need to win, Banyule are on top for a reason.
Prahran vs Glen Eira. Although on the bottom the Two Blues are playing good football and expect an upset here.
Old Westbourne vs St Marys Salesian. Another team at the bottom playing well and may also cause another upset.

Couldn't agree more -can't fault OPs recent form line
Therry Penola vs Bentleigh. A win to the home side will go a long way to securing a finals spot.
Therry need this one as they have gone 3/4 from last 7and still have GE(away) and then Banyule to follow, so if they drop this they are in strife
Banyule vs Old Eltham. Although the Research boys need to win, Banyule are on top for a reason.
The juggernaut continues
Prahran vs Glen Eira. Although on the bottom the Two Blues are playing good football and expect an upset here.
Last chance for the 2 blues-lose and they’re 2 down with 3 to go, but if GE expect to play finals they need to redeem themselves after last week’s meltdown. They’ve only lost to OPs &Banyule in the last 7 games so GE for mine
Old Westbourne vs St Marys Salesian Another team at the bottom playing well and may also cause another upset.
OW form line isn't really that great .Last week's win was their 1st for a month(1w/4L) But STMS are the same with only 1 win in 5 weeks.
Although OW is a tuff road trip -and the oval is a barren desolate windswept hole, I just reckon STM might get the bikkies -as they know they have GE and banyule in the last 2 rounds so if they miss this chance it might be too late,.

Old Westbourne over St Mary's by 9 points
Glen Eira over Prahran by 3 points
Therry over Bentleigh by 7 points
Banyule over Eltham by 35 points
Emmaus St Leos over Parade by 12 points

Parade, banyule, both easily.
Bentleigh by 5 goals.
Glen eira too many ball winners by 34 points
And old westbourne by 8 goals. Stmarys will not cope with big open spaces.

Is the 4 set? Therry look to be the only side who can get back in but their form has been ordinary. 1 v 2 in both grades at Parade next week should be a cracker of a day.

How's Matthew McWhinneys hand pulled up?? Its a real shame someones jaw got in the way of his fist otherwise he would have made a mighty large hole in the ground

I will be interested in the Therry response to this as they were very voacal in regards to an earlier incident when the two teams last met.

It seems that Bentleigh have been involved in nearly all the nasty incidents this year both on the giving (more giving) and receiving end. Was this just another of "those' incidents?

70m off the ball, I would assume there was a mallee or 2 man scuffle. So was it just a punch (or elbow) that connected properly out of a few that were thrown by both teams/players?

Or am I wong and it was just a kinghit?

I'm thinking that with the track record there would have to be some story behind all this and its option 1.

Interested to find out...

Therry mission statement of sorts above. What could Bentleigh have done to create such an incident? or was it one-sided?

Hope he has a good lawyer and a stack of cash on two fronts, criminal and civil.

Yeah I read that in their clubrooms, however I'd be focusing on the offending player (Mr Leadership), not pointing the finger at Therry as a whole.

Don't read too much into the Bentleigh player starting the issue, he's not that kind of player.

It is a shame we are once again talking about an unsavoury incident rather than what promises to be a belter of a round that will decide the fate of several teams.

Thanks for the update/correction Sainters.

Spose we'll leave the rest to the tribunal to decide.

And as Bails2008 has noted, lets get back to the footy....

Looking forward to this round of footy. We have the big task of of taking on the inform Parade. They touched us up last time at home and I am confident that we can give a better effort this week.

Eltam were super impressive on saturday and I am suprised that they have only won the 5 games as I think they are better than that.

Incident may have considerable repercussions if this steeled Bentleigh's resolve to get them the 4 points. They are now out of relegation zone, SMS & Eltham game huge. More so than top of the table clash.

OW seem to have a finals spot for their keeping. GE & Therry to fight out (may be wrong word) spot for 4th. Will be interesting to see if culprit plays this week.. What are the odds on that??

gee whizzzz

everytime im away for a couple of weeks things change so much in this comp

Interesting to hear the comments about all the dog acts this year as im a strong believer that only football should do the talking. Nothing wrong with a bit of push and shove and hard footy, but king hits this is something you hear plenty of in other leagues and seems to be happening a lot more in the VAFA.

Hopefully the clubs and tribunal do justice for anyone subject to dishing out these low acts.

Anyway that is my rant on this subject im looking more forward to the remaining games and the pan out of the final ladder

Looks as though things can pan out in a lot of ways ensuring that all teams will put in first class efforts to finish in the 4 and to save relegation

The difference between the Ammos and other leagues is that the Ammos treat these type of incidents a lot more seriously than other leagues. If the player who allegedly did the king hit plays this week I have no doubt he will receive a lot of attention. No love lost between Glen Eira and Bentleigh but GE would not be impressed with a king hit albeit allegedly.

It seems like the bad blood between Bentleigh and Therry continues unabated.

Rather than inflame the problem by casting further uninformed opinion, let's leave it to the Ammos sort it out ...assuming the complaint's been lodged.

If he's done the crime, he'll do the time…usually in spades given the Ammos’ stance on stuff like this!

This round should be an absolute beauty and a real season-definer for more than a few clubs.

So let's focus on that-
Bentleigh v ESL
Thanks to the early season draw between these 2 teams, this game is now worth jack-sh*t to either club... as they're both now out of relegation but similarly both 1.5 games out of the 4 with 3 to go.
The losers will put their cue in the rack and start plotting for next year. The winners might have the faintest of sniffs for September action...but probably not.

Eltham vs STMS ... A belter is expected. The relegation GF for both these clubs. It’s all over for 2010 the losers come Saturday night.
For 2 relegation candidates, they both have shown real form of recent times. Toss of the coin only, but the Turtles at home should put some space between them and the drop zone.

Old Parade v Banyule …The unstoppable force meets the immovable object!!!
A team sitting at 13/2 is hard to tip against at this stage of the season, but the OPS are one of the 2 to have done damage to the Bear machine and this game will be on their dung heap.
While Banyule score freely they have in Drapac and Co, a defence that just might be able to hold the Killer Bees -Boundy and Brabender to a manageable score, and they possess a big strong bodied ruckman to compete with Spithill as well.
Plus they have Ash Brown back in the saddle to provide more than enough firepower of their own.
It will be well worth the price of the petrol to see it live.
In a probable GF 'pre-play' -I'm sticking with the Bears in a tight one

Glen Eira v Therry ...The boys from Packer have been far from convincing in accumulating their wins to date and have not really spanked anyone yet as their % of 93 proves...
But they've rolled most in their path to date and they're even harder to beat at the postage stamp of Packer Park.
For Therry, the absence (or not) of MacWhinney will have a huge impact as he and Costello are a formidable duo up front. Given that Therry are drawn tomeet the Bears the following week, they must now be ruing their loss at home last week even more. This game will be a real season definer for the Broady Boys.
Lose this one and the finals are gone, win this and live to fight another day... GE in another tight one.

Prahran vs OW...You'd think this should be a soda for the Westy's, but I saw the Two Blues lose the unloseable game last week.
They didn't show up until 1/2 time and then they kicked 1-8 in about 15 minutes in the last 1/4...they were relentless but aim-less!!!!
GE went forward once and Big Tommy Paterson pulled down a screamer and then coolly slotted one from 50 out!!!
You could almost hear the wind come out of the Prahran boys' sails....and their supporters too.
If Neil Craig reckons Adelaide can't kick them when it counts , I'd hate to hear Serge's thoughts on his troops performance.
All that aside, if Prahran can win this one, they're almost show of staying in D2 as their last 2 are against ESL and then Bentleigh who are both stuck in 'no man's land' -i.e. can't play finals , can't be relegated.
So this becomes Prahran's Grand Final. They're too good a team/club to do the double drop (D1 to D3 in 2 years), so with their rowdy supporters in full voice at Toorak Park I'm tipping them to get home in -you guessed it-another close one.
