Some massive matchups tomorow to keep everyone's interest till the final siren - and beyond !

Bentleigh vs Emmaus St Leos. Neither team has anything to play for except pride so the tip is to the home side.
Eltham vs St Marys Salesian. A massive game for both teams if they want to remain in this section. Fancy the Turtles will just have the edge and looking for big game from Powell.
Old Paradians vs Banyule. I said weeks ago they were coming and after tomorrow the Raiders will be premiership favourites.
Glen Eira vs Therry Penola. Another massive game with finals implications. Don't know why but think the western suburbs boys can keep their finals hopes alive.
Prahran vs Old Westbourne. The Two Blues have been oh so close in recent weeks and need to cause an upset to avoid the double drop.

Hey Clint, don't put your hard earned on those games, reckon you have picked 5 losers. The VAFA relegation poll for D2 has 12% picking Prahran to survive. Are you one of those Clint? SMS still backed in to survive, but support rising for Eltham. Poll was a good pick up by Sniper.. How is the Bentleigh boy with the broken jaw?

He was actually down the footy club last night after two lots of surgery during the week, so you can't keep the boy away. Seems in good spirits considering, but that's his nature

Goodonhim sounds nasty. Will the matter be persued with VAFA? Guess he won't be heading down the road to Murrumbeena to cheer on Therry..

As a supporter of Northen suburbian footy, I went to the Garvey to watch the top of the table clash. Very hard contest from both sides which the Bears just too good. Truefeldt starred early and Shephard on the ball played a great game. For Parade, Spitty did a good job on Brown and Kandilakis, after a slow start was hard at it all day. Banyule are clear favourite for the flag and rightly so. With Giles and Braddy to come back into the side, I can't see anyone getting close.

By the looks of things Bentleigh have stacked their two's!
Easily the worst side God ever shoveled guts into.

Hey Number 70, do you always post on bigfooty when you're pissed? Not sure Ive ever heard that "God/guts" saying before.

I wish we could stack our 2s but unfortunately we're not in a position to. You guys gave us a flogging last week, so we had something to prove to ourselves this week.

FYI only 1 senior player came back to us but some players came back into form.

Good to see you come on here after you think the McWhinney incident has died down after you & Nostradamus went to town on our club after Round 8.

1 out of 5 ain't bad!!

Anything learnt from yesterday's reults? Banyule surely odds on to take the major prize and Prahran show they aren't quite done with yet!! Therry and Old Westbourne must just be making up the numbers coming finals time which ever stumbles across the line???

Ok, so i will give a response to the mcwhinney incident that eveybody has been pre-occupied with this week.

I was playing in the game and what i saw was...

Bentleigh player intimidated a young therry player on numerous occasions....he was playing on the captain of therry who verbally attacked the bentleigh player which led to an altercation between both players.

The ball was a kick away from therrys goal.....bentleigh player punched therry full forward in the ribs from behind...therry player reacted by striking benlteigh player to the jaw.

Bentleigh player dropped and was on the ground wimpering.....therry player clipped the back of his head with an open hand and said 'stop sooking'

Benteigh player on me said to umpire " you saw that" umpire responded with " yes i saw that, but there was not enough force for me to send him off or report him"

thats my take on it.

bye

Ever since I was a kid I've liked fantasy stories like Willie Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, the Never Ending Story, the Boy Who Could Fly & now my favourite: No. 70's post above.

Such innocent fanciful stories.

This bit is my favourite: "Bentleigh player dropped and was on the ground wimpering.....therry player clipped the back of his head with an open hand and said 'stop sooking'"... I wonder why??

Top 3 look to be set is stone. 4th is anyones guess and relegation is still unclear.
Banyule will play in the second semi and their opponent is still to be decided. Parade losing on the weekend has opened the door for Glen Eira to finish second.

Fourth place looks a race in 3 and should set up a very interesting last 2 rounds. I think westbourne or ESL will get 4th. Massive game for both GE and SMS. GE can stay in the race for second and SMS will stay in D2 for another year.

Very good analysis for "a supporter of northern footy".

Ur just as spineless as your weak captain.... Don't make out u saw anything when it was 70 metres off the play in the goal square you lying pratt...

then y did he take himself off for the rest of the game? GTFO...it was 10 mintues into the game... he was 'intimidating a young player' on numerous ocassions is that what your captain told u was it? Because of the weak dog of an act... fact is ur captain is a useless cretin and is going to get what's coming to him...

Oh and y didn't ur captain play? Broken hand was it?

Final four predictions, banyule, parade, glen eira, and westbourne. Although st leos are a massive chance. Two wins from their last two could get them in. Therry are a lost cause. Seem to have gone off the rails and lost direction. Yep a bloke hit someone. Not the end of the world, I think they have bigger problems than an undisciplined captain. St leos would be happy with the effort to get not only out of relegation zone but a finals chance. And westbourne seem to fall away in games which is worrying because they lead for a long period against banyule and went down. Eltham look destined to drop a div. Very underachieving football team this year but along with bentleigh have been hit hard with injury. Give me you teams 3 most important players and why? Just to create some interesting discussion.

What constitutes a long period of time? Banyule led at 1/4 time, 3/4 time and at the end of the game. You probably led for a 1/4 at the most.

Hey Clint, looking forwrd to your tips & summary this week. Do you think the Therry captain will escape with a reprimand? Did he get a kick on the weekend?

Peter Foo is a brilliant supporter! But I reckon big Mick 'CLUNKS' Makin is a fair candidate!

Two rounds to go and I believe the finals race is down to 5 and relegation will be decided by 5pm Saturday night.

Emmaus St Leo's take on Prahran in a match that will determine if ESL stay alive in the finals race. Their form has been good and only losing to the top 2 in the last 6 weeks. I expect ESL to win by 16 points and keep the dream alive setting up a massive game in round 18 against Glen Eira.

Bentleigh hosts Old Paradians in what should be an interesting game. Bentleigh at their best are more than capable in mixing it with the Raiders. However the Raiders are playing to keep second spot and another crack at Banyule. Parade by 27 points

St Mary's Salesian host Glen Eira in what should be a belter of a game. Glen Eira are playing for a double chance and SMS are playing for survival. Although the small ground will suit GE i expect SMS may get the chocolates in a tight one. SMS by 4 points

Therry host Banyule. 6 weeks ago I thought these two would be the grand final teams. Whilst Banyule have won their last 6 Therry have won 1 of their last 6. Even during this form slump the other teams have let them off the hook meaning they are still a chance to play finals. That ends this week when Banyule should end their season. Banyule by 35 points

Old Westbourne host Eltham. The Turtles have forgotten how to win. They will get relegated as I expect Westbourne to win by 24 points. Has a team ever been relegated and not lost a game by more than 7 goals for the entire year?

Long time viewer first time poster.

Sudds McDuff raises an interesting question. I would doubt that there has ever been a team relegated that has a percentage of almost 100%.

To have two teams (Bentleigh & Eltham) in relegation territory with two rounds to go, and percentages of 99.72% & 99.49% respectively, would be even rarer.

My analysis reveals that Eltham has an average losing margin of 17.45 pts for their 11 losses.

Bentleighs average losing margin for their 9 losses is 24.22 pts, however, if you take away the 101 pt shellacking they received from Banyule then average losing margin drops to 14.62 pts for remaining 8 losses.

Just goes to show how close D2 is this year.
