Second Semi Seniors
Banyule v Glen Eira
Banyule by 41 points

Banyule have been clearly the best team all year and can't see them dropping this one.

Second Semi Reserves
Banyule v Bentleigh
Banyule by 16 points

First Semi Seniors
Old Paradians v Old Westbourne
Old Paradians by 9 points

Parade strung 8 in a row before losing their last 3. If they can play their best footy then it should be enough to get over Westborne.

Good analysis Norm. I'll take banyule to beat glen eira. Clearly the best side all year. Patterson the key to glen eira, if he is on and gets some support it could be close but the bears seem to have more class.

Disagree with the Sunday game. I believe old westbourne knocked off parade early in the year by five goals, bouncy struggles against them too. I'll take westbourne by 30

Also have any been b&f's been done yet.
I'll try guessing a couple
Banyule:Truedfeldt
Bentleigh:Lawry/fedderson
St.leos:Hickey
Glen eira:patterson/spink
Old Paradians:Boundy
Old Westbourne: Hudson
Prahran:Sleight
Stmarys/sal:Singh
Therry:Faroldi
Mostly midfielders or rucks but comp medals generally go that way

Curious ground allocations for D2. Just a short drive for Banyule, the other 3 teams take packed lunches. Anyone have an opinion.

Is it any sort of reward for both Banyule's sides finishing top?
Going back to last year in D3 when we at Bentleigh had both sides do the same, the finals were played 5 minutes away in Oakleigh.

Anyway it's pretty clear the Div 2 title is Banyule's to lose.. but the Reserves is a real 3 horse race!!

Generally the ammos will look at who finishes on top.

D1 - Werribee only have to travel to West Essendon where Monash have to make the long trip.

Ground Allocation was definitely an issue as at least 3 - 4 councils refused to have finals played on their grounds.

Werribee to West Essendon, isn't exactly close.

Bout 45mins drive.

Spot on OTP one of the easier grounds to find in the vafa.

Not a bad ground to watch footy at Dairy Bell, under cover on the grandstand side or on the hill near the home coaches box. Plenty of parking as it shares it with the station.

Not a bad canteen either.

Should be some cracking games this weekend, hope the sun comes out :thumbsu:

Bring it on ! The 2010 Finals Series.

Seniors
First Semi Final
Old Paradians (10/8) vs Old Westbourne (10/8). Both teams should certainly know the otters game plan after meeting in the final home and away match. Having won both encounters, the Warriors will be confident of making it a trifecta as the Raiders look to find a way to break the ice. The Warriors have been able to keep Raiders ace Boundy relatively quiet in the previous matches but this is the big stage and he performs well there and could prove a handful for his opponent. There's some great match ups across all lines and in a close match I am selecting Old Paradians to keep their promotion hopes alive.
Second semi Final
Banyule (16/2) vs Glen Eira (11/7). Banyule have been out and out the form side of the competition all season and has beaten Glen Eira both times this season, the most recent being a serious thrashing about a month ago. The Bears have won their last ten matches, a number by big margins and have the dangerous Browne up forward. The last round loss by the Saints, when everything was effectively on the line is a worry and although they will be looking to cause an upset I just can't see them stopping the Bear's march into Division 1 for 2011.

Reserves.
First semi Final
Old Paradians (14/4) vs Old Westbourne (10/8).
Second Semi Final
Banyule (16/2) vs Bentleigh (16/2)

Will be interesting to see if the Bentleigh contingent get behind their neighbour for the later game on Saturday. Could be a case abusing Banyule one minute, supporting them the next. What do you think Sniper.

Terrific game at Coburg today though I thought the umpiring was a bit technical with many 25 metre penalties being awarded when not all were necessary. Glen Eira really served it up to Banyule, but I thought the difference was probably at the bottom end with Banyule's last 7 players better contributors than Glen Eira's. I would expect this to be a Grand Final preview.

:footy:
Thats what it looks like Sniper 20!
You couldn't get near it today old mate. Maybe a bit less Big Footy the morning of and a bit more focus on game day. :D

On the contrary I thought, had 4 opponents who only had 2 possessions against me for the day (yes I always count them). I got a few more than that.

this isn't Banyule's self professed "Dominator" is it? lol what a tool he is.

You got the "old" part right though, oldest player in our team at 31.

Congrats to Banyule as a club though on getting promoted, been the best side all year

Well done to Banyule, definitely the best side in the comp and deserve to go up.

Going to be interesting today at De La's ground. In very bad condition. Our 18's played there yesterday and was not good. There was a game after that and 3 more today. Would expect by the main game it will be in a really poor state.

Yeah believe so Sniper, hasn't done much good unfortunately

De La has 4 senior sides and 2 under 19’s. Training on it most nights and multiple matches every weekend. Gets no respite from March to September. 4 of the clubs teams playing finals so the heavy traffic has continued with training through the week. After 3 games yesterday it looks in a terrible state today. Yes they did re-sow but council did not bother improving the drainage so the ground still gets heavy. (Stonnington Council not known for their turf management skills) All that traffic combined with a wet winter has unfortunately left a poor track for finals.

Watched you all day Sniper. Lived up to your name and sniped all day away from the play.
