What games should you have won?

Suffolk Lad. No he umpired. And gave us nothing.. You can keep blaming him for losing to us if you like, maybe you just suck.

Bemused, games we shoudl have won but didnt finish:

StMarys - 4points, sms scored a goal in last minute or so.
Elsternwick - Draw (WTF? by the way, we had the worst umpire that day and never saw him around the club again, poor kid..
Hawthorn - 11 points, Leading until halfway through the 4th
Monash - 8 points, as above
Hawthorn - 5points, Hawks scored a goal in last 15 seconds

If we had have played an extra 5 minutes in those games we would have finished 3rd instead of 5th. But we didnt, so heres to next year (for us).
The evidence is overwhelming!!!!!!

Who is going to ring Michael Sholly and request an injunction for Power House to play UHS this week so that the winner can play SMS the week after with the winner to play Bentleigh the week after that.

Surely the fact that UHS were terribly unlucky, had crap umpires and had trouble running out games would be enough reason to have another crack at the 2s flag because they were clearly the 3rd best side in the comp (despite finishing 4 and a half; that's right 4 and a half games behind 3rd spot).

Sorry for getting into the hooker/onions argument, but this comment floored me

Have been told via Hawks they had 4/5 senior players miss rd 17 (snow trip) & in round 18 played in the magoos (the reason they beat W B).

If we had have known the ABOVE we would have put a much better team on the field in the reserves v SMS & knowing what I know, would have won! But as stated we didn't so we can >>>>>>>>>>>>>>. If this floors you again ...........

Nikko...please,

You have officially turned into a fool and are now chanelling Alastair Clarkson with your complaints, excuses and rants....

It's a bit embarassing...please stop!

(Cue your personal sledge/attack on me now...)

Oh you mean "stacking" - something I think you accused Powerhouse of.

No .... Can't you read between the lines??? Players that did not play in either firsts/seconds in round 18 - check the teamlists.

D3 - Don't have to do that b/c your clanger re the coaches of SMS stands alone this year!

...and there it was...as predicted....shame...i thought you were better than that...

Have i missed something here. I know i have jumped in late, but did UHS have a really good 2's team or something? I must of missed it. Every time i saw them, they were really bad. A few tall guys, but nothing "stand out". I have gone back through the ladder you guys finshed 5th or 18 points behind 3rd. We are just about to start week 2 of the finals and they are still going on about the normal season. Unbelievable stuff really. Reminds me of Warwick Capper. He is almost blind to how good he still is.

Hopefully you're heading interstate for your footy trip so you might find somone there none the wiser, who wont know you and you can convince them how good you guys really were this year. Maybe delay it until after finals as otherwise they'll smell a rat.

Unfortunately for us we let games we should have won slide this year and dropped finals, but I honestly beleive UHS are the only 2's side that could have beat Bentleigh in finals.

What games should you have won?
NIKKO - thought you would realised this was a loaded question!
If you had your wits about you a bit more maybe you wouldn't have lost those close games.

Anyway enough s#?t stirring for me.
See yopu all at scammell reserve?

Over and out

Posting in D4 next year??

So Nikko,

you are the only team good enough to knock off Bentleigh in the finals because of the fact that.....

you weren't good enough to beat the above sides that finished 2nd (good opposition), 10th, 6th(x2), and 8th? If you were that good wouldnt you be able to put away such inferior sides.

Also the fact that of the teams that finished top 2 am I right in saying of the 4 games you played you won 0?

Tips this week........

SFX to beat SMS this week. Both sides have given Bentleigh a run til 1/2 time this year. SMS was a close one at home for them until Bentleigh pulled away in the last quarter and SFX certainly had Bentleigh on the run til 1/2 time last week but seemed to lack fitness to finish off the game.

I think SFX are a little harder at the ball which will pay off...sorry Griffo.

SMS vs P/H...flip a coin. Whoever turns up to play!

Yes, yes and yes. All correct my sphincter poking friend.

Would be good to see a BFC v. SMS Grand Final in both the seniors and reserves but I think the SMS ressies will have a tough day out at Septembers Home of Football - Scammell Reserve - for those who were bagging the surface I think are eating their words now.

My Tips:

St. Mary's/Salesian by 20 points
Power House by 3 points

Good luck to all!

Anyone heard on any of the injuries down SFX way?? Haven't heard anything from them on here?

Semi Finals Preview

Bentleigh over SFX by 21 Pts (This column - unlike many others on this forum - has been a big fan of the Demons all season, so I am not about to get off their bandwagon now. It is clear to me that Bentleigh rested many players last week, but expect them to be far closer to full strength on Saturday. The pending wet conditions should suit the Demons even more. SFX have earned their crack at a Grand Final position, but feel I feel they may have to wait one more week to progress. Paul Magnifico and Chris Fidler to be amongst the best for Bentleigh)

SMS over Wicks by 41 Pts (The Wicks have fallen into 4th spot and although they have earned their spot, they are still well behind the top three teams class wise. Grace being outed only furthers their woes. SMS will be seeing after last weeks loss and expect them o hit the ground breathing fire. This contest could be over by half time. Andre Bonnici to revel in the damp conditions for the victors).

Semi-Finals Review

Finally got a couple of selections correct (69/92). SFX were gallant against the Demons, but save for Powerhouse, Bentleigh fear no one and would have to be odds on to take the flag. The question is of course, who will join them? And the formline is no clearer than last I wrote. As expected SMS came out firing and had the game in their keeping at half time. Full credit to the Wicks for fighting the game out, but the loss of Grace gave them little chance

Preliminary Final Preview

SMS over SFX by 8 Pts (Should be a cracker of a contest as both sides appear evenly matched on paper and form. I am leaning towards SMS as I feel they have been the more destructive team on occasions this season. Thomas McDermott can destroy any defence on his day and Brett Gatehouse is one of the most consistent players in the comp. The game will most likely be won by the team that wins the most contested ball and effects the most 1%’s and for SFX to salute they will require solid games from Joel Lenders and Ted McNally. Just feel they will fall short, won’t be much in it though).

Reserves – The House by 26 Pts over SMS (as long as they can keep their players out of the Elephant and Wheelbarrow on Friday Night).

Good luck to all.

Quasi

Am going to go against you again this week Quasi.

St Francis Xavier over St Marys/Salesian by 12 points - I just feel that SFX are playing slightly the better footy at the moment and, without Armstrong, SMS will struggle to kick goals unless Dewey Dwyer can have a big game.

Ressies match is a genuine 50-50 game, but I will give the slight not to SMS by 7 points.

Enough talk about reserve grade football.

The fact of the matter is that UNI High, like every other team, dont play to win reserve grade grand finals.

At round 18 Uni decided (in the reserves) to play the players that deserved to play and not necessarily the best team.......

Uni (reserves) had there chance to win several games with a full strength team but just didnt want to play as a team and were not good enough.

Sorry Nikko (and you know which side of Nikko im talking to) but if Uni keep making excuses and caring to much about reserves footy, the club will stay in D3 forever.
