Witnessed an excellant game of football down at Bentleigh on the weekend, and as mentioned earlier Robinson was the difference between the two sides.
Both teams moved the ball very quickly, but Bentleigh had a skill edge over their opposition (those pigeon holing Elsternwick as old and slow will get a shock i would think).
With around 5 minutes to go there was only a goal the difference and Elsternwick were coming and looking like they may pinch the game only to let themselves down with some un-disciplined acts which gave Bentleigh a couple of late goals to flatter the end margin.
Both sides in my opinion, on saturdays effort showed enough to be in finals contention.

There were two reports on the day - one from elsternwick and one from Bentleigh - No 12 I beleive, obviously he took the prescribed penalty
I was at Beltleigh Elsternwick on Saturday and it was one of the best games of D3 footy I've ever seen - it had everything. Both teams will be contenders this year. Number 12 from Bentleigh also got reported for striking someone in the 2nd quarter, just not going to tribunal to fight it.

Elsternwick played a solid 2nd term to get themselves back and make a game of it after Bentleigh's 6 goals to 1 in the first. So at 1/4 time it was 1-1 if you were scoring who won the quarters.
Bentleigh won the 3rd 5.3.33 to 4.5.29 and the 4th 6.3.39 to 5.4.34 so how can you say outscored?? 3-1 in the end. You didn't even have to be at the game to see that Bentleigh weren't outscored, but it was a very even 2nd half of football and a high standard game.
As LuckyPhil said, it had everything.. an 8 goal haul, big marks, a few dust ups, reports x2, high skill level from both sides. Just a really good game of local footy!!
Looking forward to taking on WB as they will look to back up their first win of the season.

Ok,Ok so an 8 point differential isn't that much. One would have to admit it was a very good game. Bentleigh got a couple of "easier" goals in rubbish time to enhance their winning margin! Well done Demons.

Piss of mate, cop the weeks and get over it! If you have any sort of brain in that head of yours you would have realised that it was the UMPIRE that reported your bloke, not erwin and it was the TRIBUNAL that gave him 2 weeks, not Erwin...
Buy a box of klennex, wipe your tears and get back out there on Saturday and try win a game instead of whinging on here!
You don't see a word said on here about one of our blokes getting 2 weeks, just took it on the chin and will move on from it, you should take the same advice!
IMO you should be blaming Mahony for you losing the game when it was in the balance. You guys had the ascendancy, being only 7 points down at the time of the incident, then he committed the stupid act & suddenly with one less man on the field, Elsternwick get 3 goals kicked on them.
He should be the one you're angry at, not Erwin, you could have been 2-1 not 1-2.

Just on this point, what are your thoughts on when Forrest (No 12) got reported he was replaced immediately with another player, instead of Bentleigh playing with 17 for 15 minutes, just when Elsternwick was on the charge!!!

itll be another top clash this week when we venture to mcalister oval & west brunswick. id say robertson will carry on with his current form as i remember the game he played on the ransford oval in 2006 - the best game IVE seen him play in my time at the demons (this just shades last saturdays effort) .

Agreed, like the Saints v Cats game....better venue will add to the clash...not to sure if the wicks will like giving away their home ground avantage. HOT TIP: Would like to be a shoot out with Hunter/Magnifico.10+ each on the cards at postage stamp.

I think it was a clear cut case. He did it in front of the umpire and took the prescribed penalty.
Obviously there was enough evidence to wack 2 weeks on Brian despite the club wanting to appeal it.
Moving on from the craziness of the first reported case of violence on a footy field in the history of AFL Football, i think Match of the Round would be between the Hawks and the Alphabet with the hawks having their best chance to get a win on the board this week.

MONASH GRYPHONS v ST FRANCIS XAVIER.
The happless church roof ornaments may well rue the injury list and ponder what might have been since they startred the season so well. Hard to see them steeling themselves for a gritty win over the (surprisingly) top of the ladder XMEN. Freddy's curses are audible from as far away as Sandringham by now. C'mon Gryphs show some pluck.
SFX by plenty I lament.
St MARYS SALESIAN v POWER HOUSE.
A big test for both clubs. The short message service boys are front running at present, seeing they are playing a lower grade.(?) Don't tell the house that, they are still playing like a D1 side at the moment. Very intensive, no-let- up football. One slip in intensity and the house will rip into a handy lead. Ferndale park will look like a battlefield at 4:40pm Saturday. My tip? SMS- just.
WEST BRUNSWICK v BENTLEIGH. Hard to tip against the Demons at the moment. So I won't. The result may be a lot closer than many think!
ELSTERNWICK v St JOHNS. Hmmm! Can Elastoplast hold the jock strap together? Mighty good question. On the small confines of zimmer-frame park I think so. But expect the Doveton boys to account for themselves well,
