I think that you are under estimating our club Cardio Carl. We have a lot of supporters & committee members with strong networks with AFL clubs & ex-AFL personnel albeit Bentleigh in D3 or not.
Andrew Kellaway may come from Caulfield (C Grade) but he's playing for Bentleigh (D3) in 2009! Deal with it

I would think I would know more than you, being at the club, you know it all muppet!.
Kellaway is working with our Vice President (who is Richmond's trainer also) at the MFB. You can't get closer than that!!

There are plenty of people at every club at D3 level that work with or know or are associated with AFL players (current or past).
The difference is that almost all of them don't hijack a thread to discuss (gloat??) the potential of getting a recently retired AFL player to drop down 40 playing levels to play D3 with a group of hack amateur footballers with second rate umpires and club supplied goal and boundary umpires.
It's a bit embarassing really....

Not the club, we're very happy to have him no matter what level we play at.
Not him, he obviously doesn't have a problem playing with us or he simply would play elsewhere.
And we're happy to talk about it because it's exciting to have such a recruit after a couple of poor years on the field.
So who should be embarrassed??
Also I'm not sure that we've hijacked this thread to only discuss or gloat about him. If you keep talking about it we'll obviously keep replying with answers because we're not just gonna sit here and cop sh!t.

Most clubs would be keeping it under wraps and would be promoting it in house only.....not spruiking about it and setting up your club for a fall....
You Bentleigh guys need to understand that most of your posts are in-house topics that need not be aired in public...

Mate this is BigFooty, what do you expect?? It's not the AFL website or the Herald Sun, it's all sh!t talk!! It has no impact on what happens on game day so settle down. There's more than 150 days 'til the season starts so just take it easy and think about how much more crap is going to be posted between now and then, but who cares what everyone is saying. Just worry about your own club and then in April the results can start speaking for themselves.
I've actually spoken to the person who I thought I might have seriously offended with some of my posts from a few weeks ago but as he said about this forum "it's all harmless banter and at the end of the day everyone is entitled to their opinion" and to him it was water off a duck's back.
So I think you need to relax and realise this forum is not the be all and end all of, well, everything..

Hey, can someone wake me up when someone / anyone stops crapping on about Bentleigh or ex AFL players and does something like have a crack at Dee Three for his comments on Tyson and Jackomos - thats far more interesting!!!

OK, everyone knows I'm from Power House. We're starting to gear up towards 2009 - looking at a few recruits like every other club and not expecting many departures or retirements which is a good sign. Still a long way between now and the start of the season. Apart from some informal running, our next event is a Christmas bbq on December 5.

Well said! I think some informal running has started already with a few young blokes organising Monday Night running which is good to see this early...Must not play cricket in the off season!
I wasnt talking about the other crap that the Bentleigh boys have been going on with in the past few weeks, i completley agree with you there. All im saying is that if a club has already signed an ex-AFL player like bentleigh have, im sure they would be doing the same thing and getting excited about it. It would be a bit hard to keep a signing like that in-house!! It wouldnt stay that way for long and to be honest it probably more other people from other clubs (Like me) commenting on it rather than the Bentliegh boys spruiking about it!!
