Its not our fault if no one else gets on here and talks about their club!! I think if you look closely Phantom, you will find no one has been talking up the two clubs as World beaters, (they may have been the occasion joke ie. 9-0, but take that for what it was, a joke) why would we, we finished last and 2nd last last year. We are just active uses of big footy and enjoy takling about whats going on at our clubs and hearing whats happening at other clubs. As Sniper said, instead of mud slinging, why dont you tell us whats going on at your club?

spot on griff, agree 100%! it would be nice if this joker would let us know whats happening at his club because we would all be interested in how preseason is going, new coaches/recruits & how they think theyll shape up against the other 9 d3 sides next year.

we had another good session last night at karkarook park (my first) with id hazard a guess 45 fellas going through the paces. only 3 more before we break for christmas.

were not looking too bad either, i might add...

Not at all am i talking myself up, im hardly going to put my team last or mid table!!....Its like tipping against your team. Every team hopes they will win. If i had put us lower than the finals, you'd say geez you blokes at Bentleigh have written the year off or have no confidence. End of the day its my opinion. i dont represent the club as a whole, just a players thoughts.

Most people you would think would assume 2 teams that got relegated would be close to top of ladder the following year? assumptions only really.

yes whitenikes might be Bentleigh but to me its only positive thinking to think your team would be looking good for upcoming year. End of the day results mean everything not what we hear or discuss in this forum! And thats what it is a forum to get some chat going.

well wouldnt you find it strange that if the 2 relegated teams finished outside the 4, wouldnt that be an underachievement?? from memory it has been done but its very rare though.

of course this should be done by ALL teams this time of year... thats what preseason is for!!!

If you get relegated one year, is it rare to miss the 4 the next! Somehow I don't think so

And Josh has a very bald head, i saw enough of it in the finals. One very big unit, good luck all u ruckman against this bloke.....I think Im talking about the right bloke???

Even though you had a dig, Im on your side Cam. Can u do me a favour, could you just tell Phantom13 how super he is next year. 30+ posessions a game.....Gun!!! 29 of those are kicking out of full back, cause every team has at least 40 shots at goal against Syndal, oh I mean Chadstone...

hahaha... actually kick-ins aren't counted as possessions....but that's just semantics. :)

this is strange as its still a "kick" isnt it?? its the one area of statistics thats always been a funny one for me.

Anyway, stewie40, kickins aren't counted as possessions because they obviously provide an inaccuracy with comparing players with stats.

I'm pretty sure kicks off the ground aren't counted either.....which means if the only kick you get in a game is a goal from a soccer kick, you have 1 goal, 0 kicks in that match.
 
Notice on the vafa site that a few teams are looking for practice matches including us and Hawthorn.
Just wondering what you all thought about playing fellow division teams prior to the season? Usually we play Black Rock and i think Heatherton and a few years back we went up to Latrobe...i much prefer playing teams in different divisions and/or league.

mind you, im lucky to get anywhere near the goals, these days...

could work both ways - you see what youre up against for the upcoming season but wouldnt season form be a better judge??

agree with you nikes. different league teams give the opportunity to try new plays that might be used for the upcoming season.

black rock & heatherton have always been interesting encounters ive found the last 2 years...

Hawthorn's Practice matches are:
Week 1: Whitefrias
Week 2: Yea
Week 3: Banyule
 
I was amazed to log on sometime last night and see this D3 thread setting a record low for position amongst the VAFA board threads.
It was sitting 5th on the list!! Previous low that I'd seen was 3rd.
Good to see the people of Bentleigh jumped on board to get it up to position 1 or 2, where it's always sitting.
Haha.. just something different :p
Anyway it's good to see the Ben Cousins-->Richmond-->Bentleigh link being thrown around already :cool: just have to wait a few years ey!!
