only ever played at eltham once & all i remember is the ground being enveloped by cliffs!!

loved the roosters concise rundown of the grounds in d3 - well done. now we all know what to expect of them in 2009.

we finished our pre-season training for 2008 last night. its been a terrific turnout for all our sessions so far. it was great to train on a proper football ground as well!!

now its 5 weeks before we resume. so hopefully our lads will have shedded the "excess baggage" that will be on in a weeks time!!

has everyone finished or do you have 1 or 2 sessions left??

funny you mention this as i didnt hear anything. unless it was announced at the start of training as i arrived 20 minutes in...

i heard the name "mick lee" mentioned but im not sure so maybe one of the other bentleigh lads who frequent here can tell us...

There were some very disappointed players down at Arthur Street when Richmond drafted Ben Cousins this morning.

The boys from Bentleigh were convinced they had Benny Boy all signed, sealed and delivered to line up in the middle for them next season alongside the long list of former/current/potential AFL players that they have promised will pull on the Bentleigh jumper in 2009.

NikkoTeen, listen to Rooster and leave the sick Monash/Indian Mumbai jokes to me...it's not good for your reputation.

The Hawthorn Hacks were at it again bringing out the boxing gloves and gear at pre season training! Usually the fisticuffs dont come out until Saturday afternoons in May - September

Elsternwick just finished off their stellar pre Xmas pre season at the Elsternwick Hotel. Their actual pre season consisted of skulling contests on Wednesday nights in the front bar usually won by the senior coach.

The House didn't do any pre Xmas pre season preferring to rest up the very old bodies for a long season ahead in 2009. The only club in D3 to spend more money on wheelchairs than footballs.

St Johns have done their pre Xmas exercises in the local lockup while UHS are still looking at themselves in their hand mirrors admiring their own talents and stocks. Pity they can't play.

StMS are still trying to decide on their actuual name, strip, playing list, coach, trainers, captain and actual ground so they have had no time for training.

West Brunswick have moved their pre season to Schoolies week on the Gold Coast figuring they can actually win fights against 18 year old skinny kids.

As for SFX?...who cares...

Fair take on the latest happenings Dee Three...bit disappointed that the first Wednesday i get off work and i have to wait till the 21st to train!! Mick lee back to coaching the 19s will be great for the young fellas..

surely the fact he has been picked by richmond only strengthens the chances of him ending up at bentleigh ;) maybe the $300,000 the dimmattinas wanted to donate to richmond is something to do with locking him down for a bentleigh contract in 2012?

Ya dreaming! pretty sure once he finishes up, he'll be going back to perth to resume his innings....if he lasts that long.

Was tempting to call in sick this morning but my conscience got the better of me. I did hear that Punt Rd is gridlocked & approx 3000 people are there.
 
Ok, after a pretty wet weekend inside, I've redone the VAFATipping.com website with the entire 2009 D3 season so it should last they whole season this time without crashing.....

Also added the ability for users to submit articles, match reviews, rubbish etc etc just working out how to remove the need for them to be approved.

If you want to register and give some feedback about errors in the draw or glitches or things to add before the season starts would be appreciated.

Oh no, my mistake they were in Div 1 in 2006 and were relagated twice in two years, only surviving relegation to Div 4 last year by 1 game....

Still like Mitcham in this one though

40,000 ticketed members not unlikely (we know Collingwood count non ticketed & now 3 game memberships in their tally).

Yes thats the same Mitcham Rooster! I guess we will see what happens, should be a pretty tough hit out for us. Looking forward to it. All though iI wouldnt say it was like Aus vs Bangladesh 2nd's. Ive played alot of football in the EFL including Div 1, Div3, Div 4 and i would say that the bottom teams in Div 3 are not that far ahead of out league!!!
