Can anyone shed some light on how the VAFA came to the conclusion that D3 Finals would be held at Oakleigh??? Is it based geographically...????
I suppose it is better than Vermont........Now that was a bit embarrassing for the league last year. Not a blade of grass on the oval and that was a finals venue?????
No sure why finals of any sort are played there. Absolutely terrible ground. They normally play u/19 finals there so not quite sure why they would upgrade it to seniors. Much better grounds available than that.

Many of the behinds in the second quarter by SMS were due spoils deep in Power House back line. Long kicks to the goal square that were spoiled. yes there was inaccuracy as well but not all the behinds were missed shots.
Power House full back did a mighty job deep in defence.

its normally an u/19's finals venue. Bentleigh 19's won the flag there in 2004. Normally a shit heap come september

I know last year Scammell was a finals venue for D4. As has been stated, it's nice and close for us Bentleigh boys!!

I agree with you on the House Sidey!!! They are in very dangerous territory!!! Not sure if Coops will like that, They might pull the rabbit out of the hat and Beat Bentleigh last round????
The JOC's should win both, The House and The Gryphs game, which will garantee them 4th. W Bruns (On 6 wins, not 7 as the ladder states) might win both remainding games, but will fall short by a game behind the JOC's. The wicks??? Have Bentleigh and SFX in last 2, they will deserve the 4th spot if they get over those 2.....But prob fall short by a game.
Top 3 done, obviously. So the next 2 weeks from 4th to 10th, is going to be hot!!! Good luck to all!!!

umm, I realise that considering we played against them on the weekend there...
They have played U/19 finals there for the last couple of years.
Not sure why they play any type of finals there, very rough at the minute.

Unfair indeed - any team that wins 5 or perhaps 6 (as it might end up) doesn't deserve relegation. The House have a lot of pride so expect a huge showing over the next 2 weeks.
Bentleigh must be confused - beaten in a good contest by the 2nd last House in the 1s, but smashed the double chance challenging House in the 2s.
One thing the closeness of 4 to 10 does is throw the stacking the reserves for finals argument out the door for 2009 at least which has to be a good thing!!!!

For finals or relegation???!!! I suppose both. They will have to knock off Bentleigh this week to be a chance for finals. otherwise it will be a fight to avoid relegation.

Very hard to draw that conclusion!! No ones ground so far this year has been a Bogheap!! A muddy, boggy ground could be the downfall for anyone that makes the finals!!!
Bentleigh has played at everyones elses ground (Excluding Powerhouse) & won!! SFX ground was probably the wettest they played on an won by 6goals!! Hopefully playing at Oakleigh will help Bentleigh as alot of the players would have played juniors & u/19's there!!
Scammel Reserve got re-surfaced over the summer the same way that Bentleigh's Ground did. It's surface is in top notch atm and is in the best condition since the late 1990's!
