Dangerous game for may tomorrow.70 kph winds forecast tomorrow which could make the results heavily influenced by who wins the toss.

Tough Conditions indeed Wamba.

The Rangers & Uni Boys are very evenly matched. Came down to the last kick of the day. Difficult set shot from a Bushie with 10 secs to go (5 pts down) hit the top of the post and Uni survived. Game played in good spirit and pleased to see they stayed for drinks. Seem to be a good mob!

Puff Puff ... Long road trip this weekend ...

Indeed! Some of that giant Gum tree at the northern end came crashing down in the third quarter. (The one closer to the goals had me worried for a while.) Fortunatly, the wind dropped at the beginning of the last term. 10 minutes into the 4th and the 'hoes were only 5 points down. Enter "lightning" Bedingfield to steady the ship! Good game though.

Well deserved win to Elsternwick. Harder at the ball, made the most of the wind and better discipline.

From our persepective, the only memorable part of the day was the gum tree crashing down after that gust in the 3rd quarter.

What happened to justin hunter this week? No goals for the leading goal kicker this week. Is the big fella chocking under the pressure.

The Chief Matt Franich was doing a good job on Hunter but he rolled his ankle midway through the second so who knows what the end result would have been.

Not really a day for High-Flyers with the wind on saturday - I don't know what Chocking is, but I think he will be fine.

Although St Johns and La Trobe have been the best 2 teams all year, they haven't been smashing everyone consistently and I think that this could be a year where a team might pinch a flag. It will come down to injuries and who is up for it on the day. Any team from 1-9 I believe is a chance for the flag this year.

Agreed. Even Power House, 9th have a 'favourable' draw and only 2 games off a finals spot. Have been running well lately.
Teams just above them could slip back or slip through to finals. To be sure,West Brunny, Kew and SFX are out of contention.

ROUND 14.

LaTrobe Uni host Albert Park.1st v 3rd. Looks like a close one on paper. The brewers use their home ground to good advantage and I don't expect them to miss this one.

StJohns v Hawthorn. The small ground won't bother the Joccas too much. I reckon on a close finish.

UHS VU visit SFX. Long drive for the vultures and I suspect the Franciscans will have a red hot go seeing they were in front of LaTrobe at 3/4 time last week. Upset is on the cards.

Yarra Valley v Ivanhoe. Second home game in a row for the bushrangers and they do quite well on their patch. Ambush awaits the Hoes.

Elsternwick visit Kew. The wickers are 'travelling' well at present. Winning form is good form.

Power House v West Brunswick. Battle of muddy proportions? Mud-pies or mud-fish?
9th v 10th. Hmmm, lets see. House just.

Lets hope the rain and wind hold off for another Saturday.

What's that bird thing on your new jumper? I generally refer to the club as the hoers. My bad, 'll edit it.
I think it's meant to be a magpie even though we've never been referred to by that name in my long time at the club.

I have heard there was some vague reference to us as the Magpies back in the 50's so I'm not sure why that was incorporated into teh design.

The Hoers is good!!!

Interesting call for Wicks not to make the finals following a defeat, obviously not that impressed with the Wicks last weekend Wamba?

The Wicks played a good game, certainly a lot better than us on the day.

Having said that, I think our best is as good as all of the bunched up sides in the middle of the pack.

The Wicks are a chance to make it like everybody else but they'd need to be up for a long time which would be very difficult. Good luck to them if they do make it.

Selections for this week:

Yarra Valley vs Ivanhoe.
Albert Park vs La Trobe University.
Hawthorn vs St Johns.
Power House vs West Brunswick
St Francis Xavier vs UHS-VU
Kew vs Elsternwick.

yarra valley too good for the hoer magpies.

yarra first to the footy and much better with it in the 1st qtr and built a lead that Inavhoe never seriously challenged.

was some good footy played, unfortunately not enough from the hoes.

gunna need to win them all from here in, but if you wanna play finals you gotta win to get there!

wheels seems to have fallen off the hoes wagon..
massive win for St Francis, must have been a big night down in Beaconsfield. Big loss for UHS though, they had a chance to take 3rd spot and choked!!
Albert Park seem to have been stiff against Latrobe, makes Latrobe look vunerable though..

ROUND 14.

LaTrobe Uni host Albert Park.1st v 3rd. Looks like a close one on paper. The brewers use their home ground to good advantage and I don't expect them to miss this one. Game played at Albert Park. Falcons will rue their inaccuracy. The Uni enjoy their road form to date, big test next week.

StJohns v Hawthorn. The small ground won't bother the Joccas too much. I reckon on a close finish. Not so close after all. The Joccas have the lowest rotation of players in the seniors (30 so far) and are in good tune for finals.

UHS VU visit SFX. Long drive for the vultures and I suspect the Franciscans will have a red hot go seeing they were in front of LaTrobe at 3/4 time last week. Upset is on the cards. Canteen served hot soup, the Franciscans found a wooden spoon to stir it. Later, they used it to paddle the Vultures. Good win, there can be more.

Yarra Valley v Ivanhoe. Second home game in a row for the bushrangers and they do quite well on their patch. Ambush awaits the Hoes. Bushrangers at home. Another vital win. The Hoes sorely feel this loss.

Elsternwick visit Kew. The wickers are 'travelling' well at present. Winning form is good form. Taking all before them and boosting their meagre percentage.

Power House v West Brunswick. Battle of muddy proportions? Mud-pies or mud-fish?
9th v 10th. Hmmm, lets see. House just. The House did the job in bitterly cold but drying conditions. No mud, no pies!

Lets hope the rain and wind hold off for another Saturday.

Big loss to the Vultures but future totally in our hands, Ressies and under 18's look set for finals.
What about the big win for the boys via SEN1116 - 10 Slabs and 300 pies. We'll take the slabs stuff the 4 points...Puff Puff.

Good pick up Nikko! At least your bar and canteen will be topped up for some time.

ROUND 15.

LaTrobe v Yarra Valley. Can the bushrangers reverse the trend so far this season? Dunno. An 8 point game this week. I'll go with the home side with some lingering doubt.

StJohns visit Ivanhoe. Can't see the visitors loosing this one. The Joccas have a busy schedule up to round 18 and won't want a form drop.

Elsternwick welcome Albert Park for a rematch and the Tom Brain cup. Wickers will want to prise the trophy from the Falcons' claws. So much to play for.

Nikko's mates host Power House. The canteen and bar are probably ready, but are the Vultures? They'd want to be. Season on the line right now. I'll give 'em the nod.

West Brunswick v Kew. Can't see the Bears getting up for this one.

Hawthorn v SFX. Last weeks game is but a memory. Can the Beaky boys go two up? Sadly no.But I expect a close fought game.

Fine weather awaits us on Sat. Only three more sleeps..
