Poor kicking for goal cost AP games against Point Cook & Canterbury, and they were in front half way through the last quarter against Powerhouse & UHS but couldn't close the games out. Could have won their last 6 games & are no push over for a team sitting 9th.

Very sad to see the way South Districts is going , a once proud club. Maybe there needs to be a couple of Albert Park clubs merge.

Possibly. Would AP want to merge with Sth Melb though? PH are clearly the strongest club on and off field. And well connected from what I hear..

Hey TT how did the vote go heard the main man has been collecting proxy votes for a month
Vote is tonight, although forgone conclusion. Yes, he has been canvassing proxy votes for past month and performed a 'Donald Trump" style political speech at a club function last week

Following meeting of club members last night, Point Cook confirmed to join WRFL in 2018. I guess that will take some pressure of Albert Park regarding possible relegation as it was looking like it was going to be between them and PC

Not good at the bottom end. Top end might be competitive with VAFA D2. Promotion and relegation in WRFL is a joke. Downhill skiers and front runners would rather stay down and get a cheap flag and the administration lets them. Point Cook will almost certainly go straight into WRFL Div 2 as they only had six teams in the comp this year.

Once again the money clubs dominate.

I think you miss read the question, It was "what the standard of the bottom division of WRFL is compared to Div 3?" Bottom Div of WRFL is Div 3 not Div 2 which PC are going into. Top end WRFL Div 3 would be lucky to win a game in VAFA Div 3.

Agree with you with respect to promotion/relegation. A league that allows the clubs to decide whether they go up or down has a lot to answer for, hence their name, WRFL (Worst Run Football League)

Sounds like the Shit Footy League in the South.

The SFL is at least on the improve while the WRFL is seriously on the nose for a whole combination of reasons. Most notably on and off ground thuggery, hopelessly one-sided games and clubs being allowed to pick and choose if and when they take promotion. Currently WRFL 2nd division has 6 teams. WTF? While I understand the attraction of a local based competition it is a shame that there is now one less option and point of difference for players out west.

I have been critical of the SFL in the past but credit where credit is due, it is a much better comp than it was 5 -10 years ago. Not sure you can say the same about the WRFL.

End of a very enjoyable era. Whilst i have rarely been able to get down to the club this year, i will miss the rivalries and relationships built over the past few years.

Love the ammos and what it stands for.

Im sure we will have good and bad times in the future, but will fondly remember the ammos as a great exciting time building and establishing our club.

Wish all of you good luck in the future, hope your clubs are thriving moving forward.

I hope you are entertained with my very public campaign holding the WRFL to account to try and fix their well established archaic values.

Backtracking a few subjects here...

I think it's a bit soon to be writing off a club with 100+ years of history.

Looking through their results on the VAFA website, their reserves have won four games and usually have a couple of blokes on the bench. So they don't seem to have a crisis of player numbers, at least. They have also expanded into women's footy, so they must have a few $ spare, too.

I watched their seniors a couple of times this year and they were pretty bad - a lot of blokes were making half-hearted efforts. But a few blokes really gave their all (a skinny full back wearing No.3 and a bearded guy across half back, from memory). If they can keep these and Steve Clarke (who would be good in any D3 side), they should be a respectable side in D4 next year.

Hopefully a drop will let them regroup and rebuild.

Looking through all the vafa senior sections and one amazing score in Sect 3 - must have had the wind for 4 quarters?

THE EYE
o_O

Same conditions at the Prahran v Hawthorn game?

Yep, only one will go to div 4. Two will come down from div 2 and two will go up to div 2.

Who do we think will go up ? UHS?
They play PH this weekend at UHS, will be a good test for both sides.

I'm told UHS had their first injury though that's yet to be confirmed.
