I promise I won't make a habit of this, because I can't stand people who point out grammatical errors, but this tidbit of information will save you certain embarrassment down the track. It is 'drivel' not 'dribble'.

Regardless, lets let bygones be bygones, and rather than boring the board with this fickle feud, lets get back to what BigFooty is all about, unsubstantiated trade rumours.

There he is my learned man sorry over in the West its dribble. Trade rumours would be great remember you made the filthy comment. I was flying the flag for my side of the bridge. Ok so give us something Canterbury? More retirments after a succesful year. Injuries hurt us that type of stuff.

It was a culmination of factors that lead to the disappointing year, retirements after a flag will always come, few injuries plus the step up in class is not to be discounted. Hawthorn and Glen Eira were exceptional teams, providing they hang onto their stock, both will play finals in division 2 I would imagine.

Fair enough what about this year teams to beat who was not far off the teams you mentioned.

I expect Westbourne to go the way of Parkside, yo-yo straight back down and then probably serve a brief ban on account of being full of thugs.

So you took the time to join up and the best you could come up with was that. OK straight back we go.

Bit of spice on this forum, quite like it! better than an empty forum.

In regards to ramjets question, in regards to teams to beat it seems really open to me. La Trobe and UHS should be up there based on last year, Two promoted teams could be anything. I think South Melb will also play finals again.

Agreed, promises to be a great year. I'd say hopefully come finals time Westbourne play it fair and don't play ineligible players again but they wont be in consideration so nothing to be concerned about i guess.

Still trying to come to terms with the fact we have to head to the filthy side of the Westgate twice this year again.

When you bring the Toorak tractors over the bridge this time, can you choose a weapon more carefully. The last 2 times we have seen you out at Warrior Park you brought a knife to a gun fight. 56.5 point average losing margin. Yes mate, I can understand the black cloud you face when thinking about coming to the west. Its not about us. Its about you.
Really, it doesn't matter where you live. If you are a goose, you are a goose. I dont know you well enough to say eitherway but the numbers are mounting a strong case against you.

Snacktime

It's hard to know what other clubs are doing recruiting wise but Westbourne look as though they've been doing ok.
Look to have a very professionally run club and may be on the up.

Snorlax is right about one thing, none of the other teams particularly enjoy heading over the bridge.

Speaking of which, are Westbourne on the same ground that as the last time Richmond ventured out there?

La Trobe should be there, but you never know with the uni teams, they have a huge turnover every year.

The rest, I reckon you could throw a blanket over, every other side had beaten one another at some stage over the course of the season.

The only issue being new to the PC area is trying to get home when I'm pissed, every home within a 3k radius looks exactly the same!

At least you dont have to watch out for the cobblestones and can see your front door without the hedges.

Nothing like a mock ladder when you have NFI. Only knowledge is as a player in the league.

1. Westbourne- Good schooling background always bodes well for a jump up the divisions. A lot of D4 sides being promoted have had success if they can keep their premiership team together.
2. La Trobe- Always hard to predict. If they don't lose too many of their older faces could go ok. Not sure on numbers lost/gained? Ground is always a tough ask.
3. UHS- enjoy playing these guys. Younger team that always has a dip. Everyone seems to carry the load for this team.
4. South Melbourne- Clarke alone makes this team a good one. Hard being close to 2 other d3 sides around the lake.
5. Powerhouse- Good veterans with a big ruckman. The irish don't have the best skills but always have a genuine dip. Strong in the wet.
6. Point Cook- No idea on players. Maybe someone knowledgeable could provide in-tell? Put them in the middle but could be either way.
7. Swinburne- Good attacking wingman. Not sure how many they pull from the uni?
8. Albert Park- hard bodied side like the other lake teams that enjoy the smaller ground. Seem to remember them upsetting Hawthorn when they were on a roll.
9. Canterbury- Started 2016 with a bang. Unfortunate with injuries, hopefully they can get back some of their premiership hero's. I seem to remember a midfielder by Wombat(?) being handy.
10. Richmond- In a great catchment area, as I said I have NFI about other division teams and these blokes could be rolling this pre season. Have never been a d4 side from memory so could easily bounce back very strong.

Just to get a bit of discussion in the board. Seems to be an even year with no particular standout.

Canterbury would need alot to have gone wrong to end up in second last.
Until injuries and some availability hit mid year, weren't they in top 3 or 4 contention?

That is true. As I said they started the year flying. It looms to be such an even year and I wouldn't discount any team on making the finals. In regards to Canterbury they probably have great potential to be one of those sides that shoot up to finals this year if they can get that depth back. What would your mock ladder look like?

Well done on having a crack mate, I'll maybe have a go once I can study the clearances a bit more

I wouldnt even have a stab at it. I know Canterbury and Point Cook very well but would be guessing on the rest.
Love that you had a crack though.
Point Cook will be better than they were in 2016 would be my prediction, based on what Im hearing from down there. And they nearly won a flag last year.
Last year's D3 prelim finalists will be strong also. Both sound hard to beat and cant see why they'd drop away.
