Yeah but they lost to Richmond !
Very unpredictable Comp !

By the way, is Albert Park unlucky to be second bottom? Their form is actually decent.

Swinburne and Westbourne have also lost to Richmond this year and UHS only beat us by 3 goals. You're right though, it's a very unpredictable comp.

As for Albert Park, I've only seen them against us and we have beaten them comfortably both times.

Watched AP for the second time this year yesterday and must admit they did play some good football. Their midfield was clearly winning in the middle, Bricky and J.Amies were excellent. Forward line did some good things too I must admit with some great lead up marks.

The backline though was awful and played far too loose. Chatting to some old heads around the ground it sounds like it is their big issue for the year and looking at past results it is clear to see as they have come extremely close to winning nearly all of their losses bar Richmond. Will report back next home game.

So everyone, just two games to go in Div 3 in season 2017.. Looks like the final four are now settled..

Who do we think will win it from here?
My tip is UHS. I watched them play LaTrobe yesterday, they look the team to beat. Swinburne are my second pick, their forward line is strong and a good midfield.

If I was a betting man, I'd set a market as follows:

UHS $1.50
Swinburne $5.50
Power House $10
Westbourne $12

Discuss.

Disagree still plenty to play out Swinburne havent beaten Albert Park for a few years they play them well. Westbourne still havent beaten anyone above them and Canterbury can beat UHS especially if they rest a few top four far from set.

FWIW after reading today's papers, Point Cook must be over the moon regarding their admission to the WRFL. Please

We are pretty happy with the way our crowd conducted themselves. We have no control over others, no matter what league we play in.

We were even more delighted that we had our u/13's, 14's & 15's win flags yesterday.

Well done to our bulldog pups

What's going on at South Melbourne? Their Seniors have yet to win a game but their Reserves have won 4 out of the last 5, including a big win over Swinburne on the weekend...

According to reports both groups of parents fighting you are sounding like the WRFL publicity machine already pushing another incident to the side has been something you have been critical of cmon mate dont take the party line now your part of the establishment. Also claiming the under 15s flag is a stretch a 100m penalty to win it wow we welcome in to the WRFL.

Albion are ruffians, ruffians I say! Not a patch on Newport, but there you go. Apparently despite warnings Albion player ran over the mark (ping 50) and then did it again (ping another 50). Don't know why everyone is blaming the ump. If he didn't pay the obvious infringement PC would be justifiably still howling in indignation.

I am not sure anyone is blaming the ump just a nice gift for PCFC on entry to the comp lol. If its there its there free kicks are free kicks lost a grand final at Werribee to a deliberate rushed behind given for the first time all year with 30 secs left in a granny just bad luck .

No one from point cook involved Rog. You can bang your drum as much as you want. Too busy celebrating to get involved.

Truth be told roger, if you blokes were clever enough to hold your juniors, they would be in the exact same competition.

Now if i were you, good luck keeping Werribee Centrals at bay. According to a few they have half your list.

Westbourne would still beat point cook with half a list anyway!

Mate fantastic for your juniors well done to all involved.
As far as keeping players well whats new it will be the same every year.
Hopefully we can play finals and go well and a few more might want to come to a successful club not a struggling one but as we do we will take our players and make them better again thats what we do.
Clever enough to keep juniors well you know what being outnumbered is about was no different for us when that vote was held.

Tight comp but reckon the 4 is settled. WB or Swinny have to lose both matches heavily and Canterbury snagg both of theirs, plus make up %, mathematically possible, but unlikely. Noted powerhouse subbed out alf their winning side that beat UHS. Took a leaf out of NM's books from a couple of years ago. What do people think?, given they can t lose a top two spot, is it worth "managing" players at D3 level. I think they play Westbourne & Swinny in last two games. Be interesting theirs and the other 3 contenders approach over the last couple of games.

Usually now is the time where teams that have reserves in finals but not seniors start magically dropping senior players who have managed 9 or 10 senior games.

Richmond and Latrobe are experts at it.

RECKON HE/SHE MEANS LOOK AT THE NEXT TEAM SHEETS!

THE EYE

Honestly though. Its not news.

The only people who don't want it to happen are the opposition (their problem) & the poor blokes who've played all year but then get squeezed out (feel sorry for them, but finals are about winning).

Is winning an elimination final at reserves level worth rooting ya clubs culture for though?

Agree, imo, and its only mine, winning senior dead rubbers and planning for future far more important than stacking reserves to qualify or win a reserves final.

If you do the minor things right the big things generally take care of themselves.

I think if it was happening with 3-4-5 blokes then there'd be a problem. I think more often than not there are maybe 1-2 players on the cusp.
And in this situation there are also probably a similar number who get a game, not on skill or because they're best 22, but because they never miss training & are always at social events etc.
I just think it balances itself out.
