monash got up over black rock by a goal or so. wasn't too bad a game, but plenty to work on for the gryphs nonetheless.

Round 1 Odds
Well here we go, round 1 is upon us. I'm certainly very excited for the season launch and hoping to get down to a couple of games this weekend.
Here's the odds for Round 1.
Game 1 Win Under 39.5 Over 39.5
Williamstown CYMS $1.12 $3.00 $1.45
Power House $5.35 $8.00 $12.90
Wheeler will be too much to handle for the House, Willie overs here should get the money. No Eddo, No Power House, it's as simple as that folks.
Game 2 Win Under 39.5 Over 39.5
La Trobe Uni $1.30 $2.35 $2.35
Eltham OC $3.20 $8.00 $4.25
La Trobe at home to Elham on a temporary oval which is the smallest ground in D3. La Trobe are fortunate to not be hosting Elsternwick, Swinburne or Monash and lose any home ground advantage. I like La Trobe here by around 20 points
Game 3 Win Under 39.5 Over 39.5
Hawthorn $1.40 $2.40 $2.70
UHS-VU $2.75 $6.00 $4.05
Hawthorn at home to the D4 premiers from 2007. Hawthorn will miss Collins in the ruck this year however I don't think anyone will be missing Jako. A big test first up for UHS and despite all the promises that they've recruited well, I still have my 2006 glasses on and this task will be a bit much for them. I'm tipping a close one here though, Hawks by 8

Wooden Spoon favourites here at home to one of the early premiership favourites. Elsternwicks pre season form hasn't been great and numbers at training weren't great the nights committee members were down at Sportscover Arena signing affidavits. Despite this, Elsterwick will have too much talent for Swinburne and get home by 8 goals scoring an invaluble away win

Monash Gryphons $3.20 $8.00 $4.25
Two under performing clubs from 2007 both winning 6-7 games, the JOC's however, did it in D2. Mixed expectations from the Big Footy experts on how Monash will travel this year, tips ranging from 3rd to 10th. Similarly, St. John's predictions range from premiers to a club on the decline finishing mid table. St. John's definitely deserve to be strong favourites here, but recent word out of the Gryphon camp has me tipping them in the upset of the round by 14 points

Why waste your hard-earned Rupiah? The favourites will all get up this week. I'm tipping Willy, La Trobe, Hawthorn, Elsternwick and St John's. Bad week for the unis (other than La Trobe, which is arguably more of a technical college anyway).
Margin betting is a sure way to do your cash in early rounds of Ammos - expect to see some strange scores with many forwards not seeing a lot of the tall white posts in pre-season

Willy played a intra-club on Saturday. We all know that you cant take much out of an intra-club game, but its all for the fitness, try a few new things and test out the new players. Few new players played well and it looks like there will be a number of new faces in the one's this year.
We need to get a new topic on here. Lets talk about the social side of Ammos footy. Having played at CY's for a couple of years, the social part of the club is awesome, and this sat night we are kicking of with "Retro Night". Im sure most clubs in this division have heard about our famous "Party Bus Trips".....

Round 1 on the weekend not good enough for ya? I haven't heard about your famous party bus trips, and I doubt anyone outside of Willy really cares that much about them either. I may be wrong - it's happened before you know.
The social side of most clubs is pretty good I would imagine. Hurrah for the D3 social scene.

Could not agree more with SandShoes. Attended Willys get to know your coach night a few weeks back.
Great atmosphere and the seagull spit roast was done to a turn. Note to the chef for next time let the gull meat speak for itself, the spicy sauce did not agree with wafers inner workings.
All the young lads were letting down their hair pegging back massive joints and generally getting sauced to the nines. All the fun was cut short by those pesky boys from the council shutting the event down at 10pm.
Congrats to willy involving the community and best of luck for the upcoming season.

I've only heard a little - reasonable preseason, haven't got huge numbers, didn't lose too many but gained a few that look pretty good so far.
Either way they won't lose too many games way down there in Doveton.
