there seems to be alot of UHS and eltham here. on the topic of home ground advantage, what where they like.
True i would like to here what else is going on in d3. Eltham i think has a pretty good home advantage out there way, the ground stinks though...
It is a fair advantage as u have to drive for about 2hrs 2 get there unless u have access to a light aircraft.. was covered in roo p!ss n droppings as well, it was a marsupials dream..
Any1 know what latrobe or monash will be like this year?

One of the best grounds you'll find, but its a massive ground, had a new surface laid last year, has full time grounds men, and yeh some Kangaroo shit here and there, but its better than the needles and broken crack pipes found on ur ground!!!
I agree with nikkoteen, its big but no good the cricket pitch in the middle isnt even covered. And if the ball roles down that massive hill on one side of the ground may as well call the game off u will never find it.
And if the last quote that VU's ground is bad u are kidding out of d4 last year easily the best.
KB is better than the zoo. When we played at VU the entire center square was a bog. Better than the rest though, at least they don't have pitches in the middle of them.
dont get me wrong, i thought the ground was quite good to play on, definitly 1 of the better 1's.. and as 4 the eltham trip i live on the complete otherside of melbourne, not in the cbd so i suppose thats why its far.. If u want to see a place with crack pipes and needles, go to nth brunnies ground.. I feared 4 my safety there..
It wasnt the ground it was there fans i was more worried about.
I was the first time i played there, the place grew on me after a couple of years!!

In regards to my previous posts, they were a work of fiction. I don`t know what prompted me to write in such fashion however i shall retract my comments.
Anyhow heard some scathing rumors from Williamstown, mass walkouts/ financial crisis. Can anyone from over the bridge please explain. I for one am looking forward to playing Willy this year but with such massive off field issues will they even front up?
Did the players and fans grow on u 2....
pisani, i heard that the ground you guys played finals on wasnt too flash. seen some pics from north brunny and Eltham game in the 2's as well as the grand finals and looked like you were playin on concrete. can only imagine some of the cuts and grazes some of your players had, if you took a decent hit to the turf it'd knock you out. i work out by the airport and drive past the zoo on the odd occasion and i must say it looked terrible in the mid part of the season in the middle, but come august it looked great.
would imagine though that latrobe would have the pick of the grounds in this comp..

Yeah from the look of the ground at vermont it does look terrible but the ground wasnt that all that bad kind of soft in some patchs.
With the zoo it does get better round end of may early june, but for now and start of the season the cricketers that play there have the grass cut so short its like playing on dirt, so makes it real hard for us at the start of the season.
I played at latrobe a only a few years back in 19s side and i would think that it is one of the best in this comp, nice and big and from what i remember pretty green.
The Monash ground in caulfield is usually very lush and ideal size in my opinion. If it wasn't for its peculiar shape it would be the best ground in this section.
Spot on just a kid. I`m a Gryphons player and believe our surface is top notch. To the point when drought 07 occured Caulfield Grammar kicked us off Tuesday, or should i say Glen Eira.
Whats going on with this thread anyhow. D4 love fest. Looking forward to knuckling the d4 minnows when they take on the might of the Gryphs.
