Gents,

I ventured out to Garvey on both days and saw 2 interesting games of football.

OW just kept on running...running...running and smashed the Hawks who had no answers from playing personnel or more importantly the coach who had no answers and nothing new.

Horsburgh was sensational and is definitely the key. Forget about Connors, Smith and Hudson. They are not required after watching the OW side demolish and embarass the Hawks.

The team they ran out with will still beat anyone hands down.

Amazingly the Students seemed to run out of legs when a smarter Ivanhoe stepped it up in the last quarter.

The Students just couldn't go with them and a 5 - 1 goal final quarter flattered what always appeared a much closer game. The fitness of the Students might need to be examined after they conceded a 7-2 goal second half.

As predicted, Ludeman had no real influence. He is too small for a key forward post and they expect way too much from him each week to bail them out.

The human munching machine was OK without being dominant and the key this week will be whether the Hawks can hold him or whether their other forwards and onballers can step up.

I can't believe I am saying this but PLEASE Ivanhoe, you guys MUST WIN this week and send the Hawks out in straight sets.

And Champ, I will not run onto the field with you if the Italian food vacuum kicks his ton, I'm happy to stand behind the goals and continue my verbal barrage. But everytime he nears the fence, I'll move back just incase he tries to make a grab for my pie and hot dog!

And to finish, the best sight for the weekend was watching the face of the Hawthorn reserves umpire as his team trudged off embarrassed and humiliated by the Swinny magoos.

Justice my friend...justice!

It just proves that you can't get your team up when there is a team of unbiased professionals running the show. You are an idiot! Go away!

I'm Dee Three...that's my take.

Interesting that you managed to see that - given he was at cricket training with me at about the time they were trudging off.

Who's the idiot now?

Ouch .....but to be fair to Dee Three, he freely admits he is full of it and makes things up to get a bite from all and sundry on this site. :D

Hey Guys

Come on into this thread. The fishing is great here.

I just caught myself a little "Lucky" fish. Will look good stuffed and mounted over my fireplace!

By the way "Lucky", don't come on here trying to defend the actions of your "mate" the Hawks cheating umpire.

You will find no supporters or sympathy in this thread.

You really are a ******** aren't you?

Bezerk22 - what's your thoughts on this week and the two potential teams facing the red hots out at Old West?

I would think it is fair to say you can gain some "insight" about a club from the comments provided on this medium.

Last year when Hawthorn were in D4, this forum provided plenty of debate on the reserves umpire Hawthorn put on the field. It sounds like the same bloke has trotted around in D3 this year. (personally I didn't see him umpire so will not comment)

And judging by comments provided, Hawthorn themselves aren't the flavour of the competition in D3.

This year in D4 we had St Mary's. And general concenus is they are a bunch of tools.

My question is this: Does the VAFA have a policy in place that one club of knobs must be replaced in each division by another club of tools????? :D

I think it all depends which Hawthorn turns up???

The Hawthorn that beat us (OW) a few weeks back was so fired up and inspired and dominant in the air! they were very good.

But on Saturday they seemed abit flat and didnt handle the big ground too well (as expected!). Too many big bodies ran out of puff way too early in the game.

They definitely missed Ogge and Collins. Who both played great games against us last time. But as has been mentioned already we were still without B.Connors, Smith and C Hudson.

We didnt watch the Ivanhoe v Latrobe game but never really rated Latrobe after 2 very comfortable wins over them so werent suprised to see bigger bodies of Ivanhoe get over them.

Just hoping to go watch Hawthorn and Ivanhoes beat the crappers out of each other this weekend.

For what its worth i still believe Haw have enough to get over the Hoes if they have everyone available.

Just glad we have the weeks rest to be at our best for the big dance! :thumbsu:

Why what are your thoughts Chump?

Get a grip Eddie. Old Westbourne will easily defeat any team they met in two weeks time. As for Ivanhoe - they haven't beaten Hawthorn this year yet, so far from a done deal on Saturday. Hawthorn and Ivanhoe are playing for promotion only.
and the boobie prize..............you get to play Old Westbourne next year in D2.

ETE - talking bandwagons again - you are on the wrong one my friend.
You two are so boring, I think you'd make a wonderful couple. If you had it your way we should just play this weeks game and call the year off, give the flag to OW and not write another thing on this thread....sound good to you guys??
You know, stranger things have happened than a team that has lost only one game (and had one draw) throughout the year, ending up choking in the big one. Remember they lost to Hawthorn only a few weeks back and only got over Ivanhoe by 3-4 goals, so lets just see what happens, I'll stick to driving my bandwagon and you two can line up in the queue to join OW love boat

The flag must be in the bag if there was no need to watch the game. Have you had your premiers t shirts made up yet?

Could not agree with you more B22. I think that you have hit the nail on the head with the above wrap up.

It will be close - as looking up the past results Ogge and Collins played against the Hoes both times, so that will not present anything 'new', and the games were as tight as you can get.

It will be interesting if it is close at half time, as your comments suggest that OW over ran the Hawks on the 'bigger ground'. Ivanhoe have had some positive second half efforts recently and could have an advantage with run in the legs. That being said - the big guys don't get any shorter.

Hawks by 14 points - Collins to kick 5 - Ogge best on ground.

In the twos - I think Kew may rebound this week and snatch a close one against Swinney. Extra time played last week for OW to get over them so the logical thought process would be for them to win. .....then again logic sometimes means nothing in a final.

Good luck to all - Chump.

Hopefully it's a great game again.

Can you tell Captain Stubing to keep the course charted to premiership glory, get Isaac to pour me another beer and tell Julie McCoy that I'm in cabin 2007 !!

Champ,
If Collins can kick 5 from London then he is a better player than I first thought.
Ivanhoe by 40pts

I would have thought that it would make more sense to watch this weeks game between the Hawks & Hoes rather than last weeks as its the winner of this weeks game that will play off with OW in big one.

What sort of t shirts are you getting ? a nice smart polo or a Tommy Hafey style t shirt?

We'll be going with smart polo-shirts that say........

WE R IN D2 R U?

what will yours say if your two's get up?

lol

good luck tomorrow crazy.

We might actually come along and watch this one now the result of it actually matters to us?? (unlike the result of Hoes and Students last weekend! ;))
